We had hired Murad for a few things, including replacing a bathroom door, adding a new stair railing, and doing the drywall work as we had added a few skylights. Murad was punctual and very responsive. He worked with us to understand the requirements and was flexible (we had to move the date, and he worked with us). Murad is a reliable handyman and works hard. He did good work with the doors, but I cannot say the same things about the drywall and paint job. The drywall joints started to crack within a few days, and the texture did not match with the rest of the ceiling. At some point, I plan to hire a professional painter to help with these. On cleaning also, I was not very happy. His prep-work was subpar that resulted in a mess after the job. read more

I asked Nijat from Caspi to get me a quote for the repair of our back fence. First from just photos he came in at $1800, I then sent him a full video because I felt like just photos alone wouldn't show the work, and he didn't want to come do a site inspection because "they done a number of similar projects." After the video he increased his quote to $2800, which was fine and expected. When I tried to confirm the understanding of the job, which was repair the back fence as it was with a black metal wire middle, repair and replace posts that were broken, he said "we will just take it out and install a strong fence" not what I wanted or asked for. When I again asked about repairing it to match the non-damaged sections he then told me the price is now $4500. This was a total bait and switch, he knew job and what was required so don't waste my time with your fake quotes. Can't trust these guys. read more

Since he was there and we had to give him $40, we asked if he could just hang curtain rods for us. He did that, and then asked for $250!! We had to pay him $200. After a mishap with trying to install a dimmer on a Sunday night we cut power to the whole house and after a frantic call to Caspi after hours they still sent someone out at 8PM to try to help us. Murad not only got the rest of the house power but then also returned promptly the next day to fix the blown fuse and correct the rest. I can't thank them (and him!) enough for making an exception after hours and then finishing the job the next day. I have been working with Murad for past 6+ months. He mainly worked on remodeling of 2 bathrooms. Additionally he worked on small items such as new electric sockets, sprinkler pipe change, putting a concrete slab in the backyard etc. In all these cases, he did a great job. Murad was quick to respond to any communications. My ideas about bathroom remodeling were quite unique. He not only worked on those diligently but proposed a few improvements which made the work look even better in the end. During one of the remodelings, we found a leak and that increased the scope of the work by quite a bit. He brought in extra resources with correct skill set and the work went on as expected. In other cases, if I asked him to change/improve something that is already done, he did it quickly without any complaints. Despite having to travel over the hill from San Jose/Los Gatos, they were very responsive. They did a great job at a decent price (after I got multiple bids). The office point person was very detail-oriented, tracking change orders. They sought to please and wanted to ensure everything was done to my liking, even when I ran out of materials and had to ship more (and manage the project from SoCal). I was looking for someone who could install a Google Nest Cam with Floodlight and a Google Nest Doorbell. The installer from Caspi Handyman who came got the Nest Cam with Floodlight installed, and set up, and did a good job. Once he was finished with putting up the fixture on my garage, it was pretty easy to go through the setup and get it on my home network and working. He did a very nice job of installation, including caulking around the outside of the Nest Cam to weatherproof it. The Nest Doorbell was a different story. I had purchased a wired Doorbell from Google since our wired doorbell was working some time ago. So I figured it would be a slam-dunk to just install the Nest Doorbell wired. We didn't use our old doorbell much, neither do our visitors. The installer did the best he could, had the Doorbell all mounted and ready to go, but there was no voltage from the doorbell transformer when he tried to connect it to my home network. So Caspi Handyman sent a couple of people to try to diagnose and fix our wired doorbell, but the transformer for it could not be found...chances are that it needs to be replaced. However, after living here for 30 years I've never seen any transformers anywhere. I'm betting that it was inside of the wall behind the doorbell chime box, but no way to know without cutting into that wall. Not worth that. Anyways, they did due diligence to see if they could fix our doorbell, which was above and beyond the call of duty. I hadn't expected them to go that far, and was impressed. The conclusion was that I needed to return the wired Nest Doorbell, and get a battery operated one. I'm currently in the middle of that process. Anyways, very happy with the quality of their work, and how they went beyond my expectations in working to finish the job for me. And will be very happy to have them back for further work. read more

I recently wrote a review wherein I praised the Caspi handyman, Murad's, effort for my electric socket upgrade so much so that within a week after he left, I had to contact him to inquire about the installation of recessed lights for my home since my new home either had corners in the home with no light or areas of the home with an antiquated lighting system (no upgrades since the original light fixtures in 1956). Murad responded that, yes, he could install the lights. However, I requested the installation of over 20 recessed lights (a combination of 6" and 4" ones) throughout my home, so Murad mentioned it would take him 2 days to complete. He sent me a link for the recessed lights I could purchase online (which, by the way, were cheaper, in terms of price, compared to others that I comparatively viewed) ahead of the installation. Once I obtained all the lights, I contacted Murad once again, and he came right over with one of his helpers, Habib. Amazingly, both arrived ahead of time (10am) and worked non-stop until past 6pm to install my lights. This process was repeated the next day, and all my requested lights were installed. Not only was the installation beautifully done (pictures attached), In found Murad and Habib's workmanship amazing on several levels. #1: I was amazed that neither took any lunch or dinner breaks. They arrived on time and literally worked throughout the day. Even when I suggested to buy them lunch, they mentioned they wanted to focus on the work I asked them to do. Never before have I received the service of people so focused and dedicated. #2: I have not had much experience with other contractors, but those who I have come across are not as clean when they leave. Yes, they clean after themselves generally, but bits and pieces are always left over around the work area. However, this was NOT the case with Murad and Habib. They cleaned after themselves in such an impeccable manner after their work that I was amazed. I am sure that cleaning nicely after an entire day of work is not something everyone would be willing to do! #3: Throughout their work, they constantly "filled me in" with the work progress and often checked with me on whether the work they were doing fit with what I had expected. #4: Murad was also kind enough to install additional light switches so as to allow me more control of turning the lights on and off from various locations within the home without my asking for this convenience. All in all, the recessed light work I asked them to do took place roughly 2 weeks after they installed my electrical sockets, but the 2-day professionalism and workmanship Murad and Habib demonstrated this time reaffirmed my confidence in their work. I cannot compare them with other electrical contractors, so I cannot effectively compare them against anyone else, but as I am sure with other individuals, it is one of those situations where you know you are with someone who is passionate and caring about their job when you see them in action, and it is for this reason that I would whole-heartedly recommend the Caspi handyman Murad to do the work for you.
