Lentil and tomato basil soups with pita
Lisal F.

First - it's open! Several internet search results say otherwise, but I can very much guarantee Caspian Grill is open and ready to feed you. This pleasant establishment is an order-at-the-counter and choose your table sort of place, lovely for a casual lunch or dinner. There are a few deli options as well as the regular menu with appetizers (the eggplant is particularly delicious), soups/salads/sides, sandwiches, and entrees. They also have several desserts including baklava. There are a good amount of vegetarian/vegan options, including the lentil soup which is arrives properly piping hot in an adorable single-serve Dutch oven, accompanied by perfectly warmed pita bread. My dining companions very much enjoyed the tomato basil soup (vegetarian as made with dairy) and the falafel sandwich with fries. The gentleman manning both front and back of house was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and considerate, warning us about the temperature of the soup, ensuring we had everything we could possibly need to enjoy our meal and even bussing our table at the end of the evening. Pricing is quite reasonable for the quantity and quality - Caspian Grill - I'm a fan.

tomato soup and crispy pita bread

Gyros, falafels, greek salad, fresh gelato, soup Caspian Grill has been a part of our holidays and summers since 2006 on Frankfort Avenue when he just served gelato; he would let my daughter test the homemade zesty lemon gelato. Yesterday she talked to him about it 20 years later. Falafels made on sight are the best! The Prices are very affordable too! Good to see an old friend and hope you try the lamb gyros like my other daughter. I tried the wonderful tomato soup with crispy perfect pita. Plenty of seating and yet still cozy. Place and pay for your order the counter and then it is brought to your table. #CrescentHill #Louisvilleplacestoeat

Had both standard and chicken gyro and both are excellent. The varying deserts are homemade as well.

This place is perfect! We found ourselves here one early evening before we had to catch a Belle of…read moreLouisville cruise. Easy drive over the bridge. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Attentive staff. Fresh food! I saw halloumi on the menu so that was our appetizer. It came with pita, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It was perfection! When they brought it out, they also brought us a bowl of salad. We're not entirely sure if one of our meals came with a salad(probably weren't paying attention) and we weren't in a salad mood. We each took one bite of the salad and almost fought over it lol. We licked the bowl clean. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! My wife ordered the salmon. It came with veggies and rice. She loved it! It definitely filled her up and since we were taking a cruise, it felt ideal to eat fish. I went with the steak shawarma. I wanted something a bit lighter since we were going to be out most of the evening. It was perfect too! I opted for rice as my side and that's probably the only thing I messed up on. There's generally not a thing as too much rice but it was nearly a plate full. Once I ran out of steak, there's no way I could've scarfed the rest of that rice down. I was stuffed in the best way. Once we finished, I went up to pay. The guy(I assume the owner) asked how things were and of course I replied amazing! Every single thing we had here was fresh! My only regret honestly is that I hadn't been to this place until now. It's certainly the best Mediterranean food I've had in the area. We plan to come back!

Finally she made reservations for Saturday evening (it is recommended because they get super busy). We got there and was greeted by the owner. BTW, was very down to earth. So their menu looked good (Lebanese food). There is so much to choose from and hard to decide. I especially loved their drink menu, especially wines. We ended up ordering: Appetizers: Baba ghannouge M'hammara Taverna falafel Dinner: Shawarma chicken Kebab mixed grill Drinks: Chateau kefraya, Les Bretches Almaza Pilsner My favorite from the appetizers is the eggplant and falafel! Super fresh and the bread that came with it was so good. Even the dipping sauce was amazing. My Shawarma chicken was super delish. You have to put the garlic butter on the rice! It gives it great flavor. My Mr enjoyed his meal as well. We definitely had to get a to go box because there was so much food. But we will look forward the next day to eat it. Overall, the service was great and I loved the experience. We can see ourselves coming back for more! I can see why my best friend loves it here! Highly recommend you try it.

The food was fantastic, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was very laid back. We even met the owner who was immensely friendly and welcoming. We went for dinner on a Saturday evening. For weekends, reservations are strongly recommended because they get busy FAST. They're only open for dinner hours too. Their menu is pretty big with a plethora of options to choose from including lots of appetizers, flatbreads, shawarmas, kebabs, falafel, and lots of tasty desserts. Their libations menu was very nice too, with numerous options for beer, wine, and spirits. (Try the Almaza for a crisp and tasty Pilsner) all at great prices. Here's what we had: Appetizers: Baba ghannouge M'hammara Taverna falafel Dinner: Shawarma chicken Kebab mixed grill Drinks: Chateau kefraya, Les Bretches red wine blend Almaza Pilsner Hoegaarden Belgian wit bier They also give you unlimited fresh pita bread with a delicious dipping sauce. Everything was incredible and cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be coming back here again. Unfortunately, this time, we had no room for dessert, but maybe next time.

The meat was slightly on the fatty side for me but nonetheless still amazing. The coleslaw was out of this world. House made chips are fantastic. I decided to give Good Belly Sandwich Shop a try after seeing a TikTok review that made the…read moresandwiches look absolutely massive and incredible. Based on that video, my expectations were pretty high. My wife and I made the trip out there, and I ordered the Reuben while she ordered the Turkey Reuben. The restaurant itself was clean and nice enough, although nothing particularly memorable. Their homemade chips were definitely the highlight of the meal--they were fresh, crispy, and probably the best part of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else fell short of what we were expecting. The Reuben lacked the bold, savory flavor that makes a great Reuben memorable. I was hoping for something that reminded me of the oversized, flavor-packed deli sandwiches you'd find in New York City, but this just wasn't it. In fact, I honestly think the Reuben at Jason's Deli has more flavor and is a better sandwich overall. Service also left something to be desired. While ordering drinks, we asked what they had available since they weren't listed on the main menu. Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, the employee gestured toward a small drink menu sitting on the counter and made us feel like we should have already known it was there. As first-time customers, that wasn't a great first impression. Another thing that made the experience uncomfortable was an employee who continually walked around the dining room, clearing tables while closely watching people who were still eating. I understand keeping the restaurant clean, but it felt like we were being rushed, and several times it seemed like he was hovering over diners rather than just checking on the dining area. To top it off, I ended up with heartburn shortly after leaving, which didn't help my overall impression of the meal. I really wanted to love this place because the online videos made it look like a hidden gem with giant, authentic deli sandwiches. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype. While the homemade chips were excellent, the sandwich, service, and overall atmosphere just didn't justify making another trip. Sadly, this is one place I don't plan on visiting again.
