I ordered for carry out. Placing the order on the phone was painless. Pick up was seamless. I ordered the beef shawarma and two orders of falafels. The beef was very dry. The hummus that came with the platter was VERY SOUR. First time having hummus that made my mouth completely puckered (hummus or warheads? lol). My partner tried it and confirmed the same. The falafel had decent flavor but needed to be cooked more -- was slightly soggy and soft on the inside. Perhaps this is a one off experience -- may give them another try in the future. read more

Well, here I am again doing my favorite past time. Eating my son and I went for lunch while he had a break in classes here at falafel oasis. We've been here probably two times before and I have to say that every time that we've been here the service has been great. The food has been phenomenal and this time is no different. He had the Shawarma sandwich, beef Shawarma sandwich and it looks so delicious. It was juicy. The juices were dripping out of the sandwich and fries and it was so good. The bite I did have I had the grilled vegetable platter which came with hummus and a salad, and I had the Arabic tea. Everything was so delicious that I did not want to leave when I had to take him to class. It was so good and I enjoyed my time there so much. The food is Iraqi based and/Mediterranean. If you have to call it a thing. But it was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is laid-back and it's a very easy place to sit and do some homework or chill in between your classes. One of my favorite food combinations anywhere is a chicken shawarma sandwich with lentil soup, and this place does it as well as any other in town (right up there with Maira and Mirage). I had to deduct a star, though, since my sandwich was served on a tortilla instead of a pita (?!). As the menu specifically mentions pita, I'm going to presume this was due to an inventory issue on this Monday night. And really, this might've warranted a multi-star deduction, but the tortilla actually worked surprisingly well - sort of like a Middle Eastern burrito, I suppose (?). My husband and I were actually headed out for a Mexican adventure out on Poplar Level Road, but decided to stop here instead. We both had the lamb gyros, which were completely generous and so very good, and the stuffed grape leaves. Yum! Unfortunately they changed owners since first opening. I dont like the red sauce anymore. It's to thick and oniony now. The hummus left a lot to be desired as well. The falafel was delicuois though and made to order which is nice. But the sauce I think it may have been their taziki wasnt good at all. It just tasted like yogurt. The mixed platter was good. I liked everything but the chicken which is usually my favorite thing. The chicken had to much lemon on it. The kofta was good maybe a little over seasoned and the steak was good. Hurts my soul to poorly review small businesses of my community but Lordy this place needs some serious improvement. Everything I ordered (weekday 6pm) was previously cooked and microwaved to heat thru. It was disgusting. Rice is almost like a knock off biryani? Meat was super gamey. The falafel needed salt and was fried too quickly so it burnt on the outside and was still gooey and raw in the inside. The two young men were very nice and the hummus was okay. I came with a group and we were greeted by the cashier who did a great job explaining the menu and what he recommended. I love lamb so when i saw lamb gyro on the menu i figured that would be the perfect lunch option for me and a great item to decide how good this place is.
