Never had a bad time at Ramsi's. Everything on the menu is fantastic and the servers are always very friendly and personable.

Ramsi's has been a go-to since we moved here in 2016. At first because it's a reliable late-night dining option (& I was in a situation that had me needing dinner at 10pm). So many amazing vegan & vegetarian options! My favorites: Egyptian kitchen, Jamaican jerk tofu, & Sari Wrap (basically a samosa burrito). Oh, the vegan queso is a treat, too. Recommend sitting at the bar or on the patio. Great ambiance: dark, arty, good music.

We were on a walking tour and it included some stops for food and drink. These items were preordered by the tour company. We were at this one for dessert and a drink. The dessert involved bananas and I detest bananas! I was offered another option, but I wasn't very hungry, so I passed. The staff were so nice and friendly! I didn't eat anything there, so I can't really say how their menu items are. But it was a nice place to hang out for a while!

So we went there tonight right after my niece's white coat ceremony to celebrate. We originally had a reservation for 5:45pm but they were sooo sweet and accommodating and let us come at 5pm instead. A party of 7. Highly appreciated! (Though we were the first ones there :$) For starters we had: Calamari: 5/5 Jakarta rings: 5/5 .. these are battered onion rings.. great in taste but the sauce was da bomb! For main course we had: - Fish tacos: 3/5 - Louis Marsala with toasted potatoes: 3.5/5 - Louis Marsala with mashed potatoes: 3/5.. the mashed potatoes were too watery and made the plate look messy. - East Indian Paella: 3/5 .. very mushy looking - Empress Chicken: 4/5 - Salmon Sonesta: 3/5 - Mr Krabs: 3/5... the sauce was weird tasting For dessert: Method dates: 3/5 .. slightly disappointing Creme Brûlée: 2/5 .. pretty disappointing Cheesecake: 5/5 We also tried 2 mocktails: Kombucha: 4/5... fruity and very refreshing Pom with ginger: 2/5.. Ginger was overly strong Some things that were good: - Service was fast - Our glasses were never empty - Good mix in menu Some of the things that didn't work for me: - Ambiance is ok.. not as eclectic as I'd imagined. Seemed cluttered. - Noise is deafening once 3-4 tables are filled. - Only one washroom was open and a small line queued up.. Overall, I'd say food is mostly good.. go somewhere else for dessert.

Brisket Banh Mi with fries - tasted great but MESSY. Had to eat with a fork

First time at Ramsi's! Love the concept of the restaurant (Ramsi's favorite foods from all of the different places he's visited). Lots of gluten free/vegan options, which was nice for my Mom who has celiac's. They do have a kid's menu. My 8 year old son got the cheeseburger and loved it. He ate every bite, which is rare for him. I ordered the brisket banh mi. It tasted good but it was very messy. One of those sandwiches you probably need a fork for. Probably wouldn't order it again, but it tasted good!

This place came recommended by friend, but unfortunately she was wrong. We so wanted to like it and had high hopes when we first looked at the restaurant and the menu, alas reality struck. The patio looks great and it certainly is a rather eclectic place. Lots to look at and discover. Usually a great sign. We were seated in a little nook which was quite comfty and we had a good view of a giant bookshelf with interesting decor all around. We ordered the asparagus frites and the chipotle con queso. Uhmmm... don't have much good to say there. The asparagus was a limp tasteless bunch with a hard Parmesan crust on top. My friend is vegetarian and she had been all excited about the many vegetarian and vegan offerings, but even she had to admit that the chipotle con queso was completely without taste. by now I felt several drips on my arm and so something hit my plate. Well, the air-conditioning pipes overhead were leaking condensation. The server helped us move everything to another table. There we received our mains. I had the ordered the Egyptian Kitchen/Kusheri and from the description it sounded delicious. Unfortunately it was another tasteless dish. My friends dish was so nondescript she can't even remember what that was supposed to be. The special cocktails of the day were decent though. And our server was very nice and accommodating. Would I come back here again to eat? That is a hard NO for me. Sorry.

Ramsis is a cool spot in Louisville. A good blend of different kinds of food for sure and my wife absolutely loves it. It's on the smaller side. Definitely a more intimate spot. Not super loud, relaxed staff, and pretty decent food overall. Worth stopping in if you are looking for a new spot

I could come back to Ramsi's ten days in a row and not get tired of the food because there are just so many good things to try! During this visit, I opted for the curried chicken and shrimp paella which was rich and spicy and so delicious. I split the goat cheese and roasted garlic appetizer which melted in my mouth on some nice crunchy bread. The Last Letter cocktail I got was perfectly balanced and something I want to recreate. We ate outside right by the fountain and it was a nice relaxing ambiance. Our service left something to be desired but definitely could've just chalked up to a long tiring Saturday for our server.

I met some friends for a birthday dinner on New Year's Day. The party was already seated when I arrived. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken promptly by our server, Serenity. She was so friendly, funny and efficient. The decor of Ramsi's is really cool with art and architectural elements throughout. The appetizers I tried were all very delicious. There was the famous brie and house made hummus and pita, both very good. The best was the focaccia. It was thick and loaded with mouth watering toppings. The feta was on top was very flavorful. I ordered peanut Thai noodles and opted for chicken instead of tofu with a side of greens. The noodle dish was tasty. Sweet, savory and filling. There was plenty leftover to take home. I didn't like the greens as well but there wasn't anything wrong with them, it just wasn't what I expected. I was thinking southern greens. This was more like wilted spinach in a light sauce. It was just ok to me. The service was excellent all around. Efficient, quick, accurate and friendly. My only complaint is that after initially ordering water, I decided after the food was served I also wanted ginger ale. What I was served looked like lemonade. It did taste of fresh ginger. Not having the menu in front of me, I had no idea I wasn't ordering Canada Dry. There was no carbonation. I can't say it didn't have a good taste, but it's not what I thought I was ordering. She did put in a splash of soda water for me which I liked better. I just wish, since the menus had already been removed, that she would have told me how they serve "ginger ale" so I could choose. Also I was charged $5. Made my bill substantially higher than expected. Over all, it was a good experience and I would definitely return.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it: Ramsi's Cafe on the World is hands-down the best restaurant in the city of Louisville. Change my mind. We're all grownups here, so let's start with dessert. I hadn't made my way here in quite some time, and either I skipped the crème brûlée on other occasions or it's a newer addition to the menu. Either way, before tonight's dinner, I was sure I wasn't a fan of crème brûlée. How mistaken I was. I simply hadn't had the right one yet. This one here is chocolate, and not just any old kind of chocolate, either. It is the real deal whip appeal. Yes, I mean dark chocolate. Very dark. And let me be the one to tell you that when they say "aphrodisiac", this dark chocolate crème brûlée is exactly what they're referring to. Who needs any little blue pills when you can simply--ok, ok, never mind. But when I tasted this amazing little slice of heaven, I spontaneously blurted out, "Amedei chuAO!" And I have no idea what that even means. What else? Yes. Onion rings. When did onion rings hit the menu? These ones come paired with a house made reduction (it's really like an exotic twist on ketchup but I just really wanted to work "reduction" into the review). Delicious beyond compare, even without the ketchup. I love onion rings and they don't get better than this, in my experience. I can hardly WAIT to get to the aperitif but let's finish eating first. The Vietnamese greens were a spectacular treat, with a yummy sweet pool of some kind of sauce underneath. Oh, and oooohhhhh! My favourite item on the menu? The spicy Jamaican tofu! Whew! Yes, mon! Between that spicy Jamaican tofu and the Italian Amari flight, I don't know which of those two countries is working harder to convince me to go and take a different type of flight. Mmmm, mmmm, life is good! Ok, now to the sipping. I had never had Italian Amari before, but as I mentioned to my server, who, by the way, was a friendly, attentive and very accommodating hostess--as I mentioned to her, when I tasted the first aperitif in the flight, which happened to be Foro Amaro, the first thought that hit me was, "I wonder if they sell this stuff by the bottle in here." And mind you, I'm no lush. I've never had anything like this before. It has a very sweet but pleasant taste. Fairly rich . . The second one in line was the Amaro Montenegro. Another sweet concoction, but less so . . It was lighter and equally new and interesting to my palate . . I had a hard time deciding which of these two I liked better. Both were outstanding! On to the third and final contender: Fernet Branca...... I think that must be Italian for "Sucker Punch", because, holy moly! I was not expecting to have my taste buds ironed out ...... But once I recovered, I realized that was a different wavelength of delicious . . For graduates only. I finally decided the Montenegro was the winner .. It smelled spectacular, with a taste and scent combination that made me wonder if the spirit might contain the nectar of some edible flower or flowers from across the seas. Buonanotte, amore mio, Montenegro mio.

Mr. Krab is crab and grouper with a medley of fresh vegetables.

The food is good as always and service was pleasant and attentive. The ambiance is very good especially during the warmer months when you can dine outside. Once again we ordered our favorites-Mr.Krab and the Oriental Chicken. The downside is that price increases have unfortunately taken some of the joy out of dining out. Consider we ordered two entrees and just had water. With appropriate tip we spent close to $70. Of course prices have gone up everywhere so this makes it harder for diners and restaurants alike. I was a little perturbed that the restroom closest to me was still out of order. It's been that way for 3 months perhaps. Parking can be iffy since there is only street parking. There is a free parking lot half a block or more away next to the Sherwin Williams store.

We had a couple cocktails in here and the service was excellent even though it appeared they were filled to capacity. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.
