Do not bring your loved ones here! My husband suffered a brain injury, is non verbal and paralyzed on one side. Therefore can not advocate for himself. I have to spend 10-12 hours per day there. He lays in bed all day, he might get an hour total of rehab per day. I am paying out of pocket, They aides do not care about patients I have to help my change my husbands diapers mult times , pulling out my back. Some nurses are great, some not. I have complained to the administrators multiple times, they seem caring enough during our multiple meetings, but don't have control over any of the staff. I heard they changed owners 2 months ago, I it's a pity , it's for profit only , not the care of patients. I am trying to find another rehab center to get him the help he needs. I've heard many complaints from patients in there. I rated it at one because I didn't have an option for zero. read more

Awful food made for pets, the make you wear a dipper instead of helping you use the bathroom, they have no control for tv's, the room alone makes you feel mentally insane, Nurses are always forgetting things, like stuff you asked for and not including a button to call the nurses. This place sucks balls. The bathroom floods and comes into the room i sleep in and EAT in. They fix it by laying towels and blankets down. It started happening Thurs 12/30 and the pictures are from. Sat.1/1.they tell me i have to wait till Monday 1/3 when maintenance comes back to work. They wont put me in another room. Supervisors dont give a shit. 24/7 place that charges at least 10 grand a month should have people on call but they dont!! This is disgusting and toxic. Dont EVER COME HERE..... read more

The staff at Cassena Care at Norwalk continues to evolve and shows a great deal of compassion for the patient, residents and the team that serves them and their families & community. The types of care ranges from short term nursing care & physical, occupational & speech therapy all the way to long term care. Both benefit from the department's of food services & recreation. Also located on campus is a new Dialysis Center. The Center accepts both inpatients & outpatients. From the CEO to the Administrator & her Assistant Administrator and beyond the staff really gives a damn. read more

Horrible working experience, from the first day of meeting the owner, and it was one of those places once you walk in your first day you wish you didn't accept the offer and realized you made a mistake bad. The owner was shouting and cursing at employees, and the regional director from NY was the nastiest person I had ever worked for in my entire life talking down to people and embarrassing you in front of others... everyone thought that of her but wouldn't tell her. I do NOT recommend working here. You will be working through your lunch breaks (no kitchen to eat in either) and expected to work on your free time. The benefits and pay aren't worth it. I was there for several months, literally started with people who had also left before me (yikes). The care for the residents is not what it should be due to always being short staffed. ( I'll spare the other details so I don't roast them) There are never enough nurses around either. I would never recommend anyone to send a loved one here. This place is filthy and smells like urine as well. It starts on the top though unfortunately. I'm so glad to be out of there! Everyone is out for the best interest for themselves too... ugh! who wants to be treated like crap at their place of work!?...not me! Run! read more

Disgraceful is the nicest word I can use. Impossible to reach by phone, awful patient care, uncomfortable and cramped accommodations. Telling patients to use the diaper instead of helping them to restroom and hours later still not cleaning them up. Food isn't suitable for pets. This doesn't scratch the surface. You have to give one star or I would have given 0. Do NOT bring your relative here unless they need hospice care and would die anyway. Even then, if you love your family member, you will have no rest or peace of mind leaving them with such unprofessional people. They are in the middle of a Covid outbreak. A nurse told my boyfriend "in confidence" when he was visiting his relative over the weekend that they had many breakthrough cases there at the moment. Then 2 days later the Department of Public Health shut down their facility. Of course we wish that they had told us that BEFORE he went into the facility. I called to find out more information and the outbreak and our risk of exposure. The receptionist was so incredibly rude it gave me pause and when I left a message for the social worker to call me back I didn't leave any information that would identify our patient. She did call me back and her voice was so purely nasty and annoyed that someone was asking her questions that I was afraid to give her our patient's name because this is EXACTLY the type of place that would hurt or neglect a patient if the family asked too many questions. When I didn't provide her with a patient name, she refused to give me any information on the outbreak - which is a public health issue! It isn't even about the resident, EVERYONE who has stepped foot in there should have access to that information! She wouldn't share that information with me to help keep the public safe. This place has an evil energy to it, you can feel it when you walk in. If you can find another place to take your loved one, find it. The reviews on here are real. read more

Since Cassena Care Stamford does not have a page I need to post this here. if you love someone DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! My mom arrived at Cassena Care of Stamford for rehabilitation and was treated horribly. My mom is not one to complain about anything, she does what is asked of her to get better for herself and her family. she always taught my sisters and I to treat people with respect and treat others how we would want to be treated. On Saturday, January 30th 2021 my mom called me up in tears because the nurses were being extremely mean to her. she wanted to be moved from the bed and to sit in a chair and the nurse told her " no, we cannot move you because you are too fat" also she does have a bedsore and asked if they can put some cream on her because she was in pain, when they were bathing her they were being very rough with her and she politely asked them if they can be gentle and they just laughed. Hearing my mom cry was the most heart-wrenching thing especially since our family cannot be with her due to Covid. Our family decided to move her out and into a different facilty because NO ONE should be treated this way. We are living in a very difficult world right now and just being nice to someone does not cost a thing and does not take much. These nurses are able to go home every night and hug their children and spouses, my mom has not had family contact in 6 months. Also, I know how hard these nurses are working due to being understaffed but being compassionate should be number one. I have a sent emails to their facility and have not received a phone call or an email back. read more

If this place is the same as the Stamford facility I pray for the patients. In the Stamford facility my Mom was there for physical therapy in July 2019 they were aware on transfer from hospital that she was terminally ill all they did was call me to complain about her screaming. Shouldn't nurses know better I don't know how any of these ppl live with themselves. I will fiercely defend and tell my Mother's story to my own last breath. She was human she deServed better. Thank God her stay was brief it ended with her death and I love that word expired they used to tell me she died:( read more

Cassena Care at Norwalk is the worst nursing home in Norwalk CT. The manager are very rude and don't care about the patients, they care just about the money . They have poor patient care, very old facility, very old medical equipment. Short in staff and always short in medical supply. Every day there is a issue with the patients because they are short in nurses and cna's. read more

I will rate this review on one care provider, Cris Antipuesto who was fantastic. I was having a hard time getting updates on my mother who was transferred there from Greenwich hospital to recover from COVID. It was frustrating not to be able to connect with one person consistently who cared for my mother. When I spoke with Cris, he instantly calmed me down. He shared his own experience of caring for his mother in the Philippines and was so empathetic and genuine in his interest in my mother and her well-being. Cassena is lucky to have Cris and I wish that all health care professionals could take a page out of his book for how to exemplify superior understanding and care. Thank you Cris for giving me the reassurance and strength I needed to get through this and more importantly, caring for my mother. read more

As a rule they don't return calls, never apologize for mistakes or recurrent billing issues, late insurance claims are common and clients are left to resolve claims instead of the billing office taking the lead, admissions in hurry to get clients In without checking insurance and then puts the onus completely on clients to resolve problems. Please go where you are appreciated and cared for not a place like Cassena Care where you are just commodity! read more

Avoid at all costs. I watched in horror as the unqualified nurse attempted to change my father's tracheotomy cuff and instead, removed the entire cannula. This resulted in a fully exposed trach hole in my father's neck, rendering him unable to breathe - in a non-sterile environment (where trachs should only be removed). The response was even worse. The nurse had an attitude - and when I complained to the supervisors and manager, they got back to me 48 hours later and told me the nurse said that I was being difficult and abusive. My father developed pneumonia - and passed away from complications weeks later. Am I saying that this is Cassena's fault? I can't say that with total confidence. But the fact that a nurse who did not know procedure was hired and able to work on my father like that is unacceptable. Their response to my complaint was unacceptable. So if you want to spend the rest of your live wondering if your loved one's care facility is what caused their premature death, by all means go with Cassena and their crew of incompetent caregivers. read more
