I have eaten at this restaurant on many occasions. I want to first start off and say that I'm actually a big fan of their food. I love their pizza and all of their appetizers. On Mother's Day I ordered a family style calamari to go and when I got home and opened up the container I noticed that the portion size was not really up to standard. Normally their family size calamari is filled to the top of the tray. But this time you can see the bottom of the tray. I believe I really only got about 1/2 of what they normally serve. read more

Ok, so I gave this place another try. Still no beer on tap, but I have to admit I enjoyed their cocktail list. I had a really good French Martini. And our server, Victor, was nothing short of stellar! He is an incredible gentleman, very charming and polite - wait... he reminds me of someone...a server that I used to know back on the day at Andiamo's before the little Lord Fauntleroy came in on his low horse. Victor! OMG, this is the second coming of the finest server in this country and any other I have ever visited. I can't help but feel the owner has no idea he has server royalty in his dining room. Begger's can't be choosers so we spent $40 on a small Caesar salad, a small "family" size soggy fry and a "family" size mozerella stick. First of all, they put my Caesar salad in the bag with the hot food. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know why that was a dumb move. None of the food had any flavor, they gave me a HALF FULL tiny container of tasteless dressing for my freshly-warmed salad and their portion sizes are pathetic, given the prices. I've been to Cassie's twice and both times it's been very good. The first time we had the Margherita pizza and it was very good. Sauce had good flavor and the crust was exactly what you want in a wood oven pizza: nice char and thin n crispy. On our second visit I was in the mood for pasta so I ordered the penne a la vodka. Not very inspired, I know; but I was in the mood for something comforting and familIar. It was delicious. My only quibble was the consistency of the sauce. Great casual Italian food at its best! Recently, my wife and I stayed in Orangeburg for the weekend. My in-laws were with us and we were enjoying Halloween activities. The first night, we were looking for a good dinner spot. We originally had a reservation for a restaurant that was further than we thought, plus we were on a time crunch and had an event to go to. We then struck out on another local spot, which had an hour wait, and was incredibly stuffy anyway, I'm not sad that we had to leave. So, we saw Cassie's down the road and thought, "Let's give it a shot!". Cassie's saved the day. It's a great, casual Italian dining spot. There were families in there, it was warm from the big pizza oven right up front, there's a full bar, truly, it's a great dinner spot. We were seated at a booth, received very prompt service, and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their food. They had some specials, but we all went for the classics. I had chicken parm myself and it was everything I hoped it would be. 5 stars. I would absolutely recommend this place and plan to be back the next time we are in the area. read more

We have been looking for a place with great pizza for a while now. We prefer the ground sausage to the sliced and this place has it. The pizza was half cheese half sausage and very delicious. By far the best pizza we have had in a year. The service was excellent as well. We ordered our pizza for delivery. It arrived hot and we were seated at our table eating it in 30 min from the call. It does help that we only live 3 miles from here. Which baffles me that we are just now ordering from them. Great price for the good and service. read more

Cassie's is the best!!! Anytime I'm in the area, my parents and I make Cassie's my last supper before I leave. We've gone with extended family, just the four of us, brought dates, etc. and it never disappoints. I always look forward to coming back here, and my friends do too. Some people just go here for the pizza, which you can't go wrong with. It's thin crust pizza in a brick oven so it has that smokey aftertaste. Personally, I prefer getting a pasta. I've tried the broccoli and cavatelli, linguini with clams, penne vodka, broccoli shrimp in garlic oil sauce, and tomato based pastas. My favorite is the linguini with clams, but it depends on what else we're ordering. Our favorite thing to order is the family style chicken parmigiana. Everything tastes so fresh and they put a ton of cheese on it. If you want more sauce, they're very accommodating. If you order a tomato based pasta, this sauce blends really well with it on the plate. Depending on what you're ordering, you may want to ask for some separate places to avoid mixing sauces. We always have leftovers and this is great days later. We also enjoy ordering a side of spinach to split which you can get sauteed or in a garlic oil sauce. It's so fresh and flavorful because they roast the garlic with it. It's a perfect side dish and we usually get this to share instead of a salad. I suggest eating a light lunch before you go here, because you're going to want to enjoy every last bite! Sharing things family style is fun and convenient to have more rather than less, but you could also come and order your own personal dishes. There is a small bar and they usually play sports events on TV, but there aren't many seats. Cassie's is better suited for a sit-down meal and ordering drinks to the table than going to drink at the bar. Sometimes Cassie's can get really busy, so it may be good to call ahead of time, but even when it's crowded, we've never waited more than 30 minutes. I've been a loyal Cassie's customer for many years-first in Englewood and later in Orangeburg as well. The food is always great no matter what we order. Unfortunately, I will never go back to the Orangeburg location again after today. I was part of a large group (18) for a post-funeral repast (we had a reservation) and the owner was repeatedly nasty and rude to all of us. I know that seating a large group can be difficult but there was no need to behave the way he did. When the granddaughter of the deceased explained that we had just come from a funeral his only response was a very terse, "I know". I also heard him being nasty to another large group that came in after we did. Ed, if you're having a bad day, don't take it out on your customers. They are your "bread and butter". Pleasantly surprised about Cassies, as the exterior could be a diner or an old Chinese restaurant. You can order family style or single portions. Be aware that the family portions are huge. The pizza here is really phenomenal. We've avoided this place for years because of the exterior and always gotten our pizza from Mountain House - perhaps no longer! The pizza here is fresh, that's for sure - right down to the fresh mozzarella (not processed...no added salt to the cheese...a brilliant white color), and fresh basil leaves that are a base for their pizzas. The sauce is also not too sweet - delicious and tomato-y with little chunks. Their salads are generous - my boyfriend and I split the salad with the chickpeas in it with the house dressing and it was really great - and a generous serving for something called a "personal". We weren't quite able to finish the Large size pizza. Unlike Mountain house, they do have regular sizes, but like Mountain House, Cassie's features that delicious, crunchy, ultra-thin crust. So good! It seems like this place would be great for groups - they have "family" portions for their meals in addition to the "personal". The only drawback we noticed is that they have the standard beer and wine fare. We love Mountain House for their rotating local taps and their choice in wines. Given, this place is a restaurant and doesn't really have a "bar" area - so we weren't expecting that. Just note, you'll get bottled beer only, I'm pretty sure. Not sure what it is like inside because we've gotten take out from here twice and my husband always goes to pick it up. From the outside it looks like an old diner or Chinese restaurant but don't let that deter you. The pizzas are excellent - thin crust brick oven, the Cassie's chopped salad is AUH-MAZING (the individual size serves enough for 3 appetizer style portions, we got a family style once and it could have fed the Duggar's), entrees are just as good I had shrimp parm and my friend had eggplant parm and both were thoroughly enjoyed. Looks like a diner from the outside (maybe it was once?) the inside is a completely different story. Completely redone with a full bar and brick ovens where you can watch the pizza being made. Delicious food. Favorites: pizza and cassie's chopped salad We've brought our families here and had 10+ people at a time; great family sized dishes (huge!) Good for families/kid friendly. Only problem is that it can be a little hard to hear when you're with more than 5 or 6 people, the two sides of the table barely talk to each other. We had an impromptu surprise party for my husband this past weekend at Cassie's and it was incredible. The entire staff is so friendly and attentive. There were twenty of us and none of us ever had to wait on refills on drinks, our food came out perfect and delicious. This is an outstanding restaurant with a menu that is classic and excellent. The chopped salad is their signature salad but all the others are also very good. The pizza is made in a coal burning oven and the variety offered will please the most discerning palate . Be warned that the portions are huge and the individual salad serves 3 and the family size serves 6! The entrees are equally large which makes sharing easy. The wait staff is friendly and well trained . There is a small bar and a wonderful assortment of beers, wines and delicious mixed drinks. This is one of the best restaurants in this county! I'm writing this review to David, the store manager since he hung up on me claiming that he is busy. I'm not a customer who usually complain about anything. However, there was a problem with the foods that I ordered for Mother's Day (hair-like steel in the pasta) and you guys told me you will refund the whole order, which I really appreciated. The fact is I didn't ask for a refund first. You guys first suggested solving the issue, which I happily accepted. I received a refund for $150.64, but I did not receive the refund for additional order ($28.18). I know you attempted twice, but I still didn't get it. This means your resolution that you suggested first for the problem was not completely resolved and not handled correctly. You spoke to me as I'm stupid enough to give you my credit card information incorrectly, but I was holding my credit card and looking at it when I was giving you the information. You need to treat every customer kindly especially when you are manager under any circumstances even if you are busy or not. You know that I even apologize several times for calling you at dinner time. However, you can't just hang up on the customers like you did today whether the issue is small or big. I highly doubt you are qualified as a manager. I'm extremely upset and will never order from this location because of David and how he handled the situation. The one in Englewood is far better. Really not a fan of the food. I just had the penne vodka with chicken and it really lacked flavor. It was very bland, thank goodness for the Parmesan cheese! I also don't like the pizza because it's is ALWAYS burned at the bottom. I think it's also over priced. The delivery was fast so that's a plus but I'm definitely not ordering from there again.
