Sorrento's continues to serve really good food. I recently placed a semi-large order for a team lunch meeting. The girl who took my order over the phone seemed a little unsure of herself, so I was admittedly nervous about everything being entered correctly. I even called back later just to have someone confirm the order. Pickup time came the next day and, unfortunately, nothing was ready. The pickup time on the order slip wasn't correct. That said, these guys were awesome. They immediately got to work, cranked out all of the pizzas in record time, and I was probably only delayed about 20 minutes. Given the size of the order, I thought they handled the situation really well. The food definitely didn't disappoint. One person on my team needed a gluten-free pizza, and she said it was one of the better ones she's had--probably in her top 20%. The rest of us made quick work of the regular pies too. The eggplant Parm pizza continues to be one of my favorites, with a nice balance of sauce, cheese, and generous slices of fried eggplant. I also ordered a half tray of tossed salad. The quality was there, but I thought $40 was pushing it a bit. I'm also not a huge fan of the 4% credit card fee. Even with those criticisms, the food remains consistently good, and I appreciated how quickly they recovered after the ordering mix-up. Mistakes happen. We ordered takeout -4 slices and a spiedino. The slices were very dry, bland, and if there was sauce - it was on the sour side. The plain slice looked and tasted like it was day old pizza that had been left out all day. The spiedino was so fishy it was disgusting. I just had the Margherita slice with the roasted pepper and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of fresh mozzarella, delicious sauce, perfectly crispy crust. Amazing Pizzarena and Restaurant. Their red sauce is phenomenal. They've got great speciality slices and you get an herb slice with your soup. Their Pasta fagioli is delicious. It's got a warm ambiance if you chose to eat in. If you do go for dinner, they give you a basket of herb slices like breadsticks to start. Highly recommend this local gem. read more

The pizza was good. I ordered one large cheese pie & one large chicken bacon & ranch pie. The critical thing that I noticed and did not like was the smell of cigarettes found in my pizza crust while eating, crazy but possible (note, I am not a smoker and this was done within my house where there aren't any smokers and there aren't any adjacent smokers in my surrounding living area aside from outside, of course). I write this as advice to those preparing the pizza, please be mindful of the cooking environment. I can't tell workers not to smoke, but please be aware of the food environment as a pertains to the health of the people that you're serving. However, if that's too hard to do, then for the customers, unless you like eating cigarette-infused pizza crust, I recommend you find another pizza shop.
