Hunter's Head has reopened with new management and an upgrade to the inside of the building, including a little more light. They have returned to the old school British pub favorites like chicken and leek pie and Welsh rarebit all with elevated quality. Service is great. Good family vibe. Prices reasonable given portion size and the quality. Reservations via the Resy app. Will be back for sure.

Been coming here for years and was happy to see the new ownership is making it better! Food and service were great! Really happy to see how the remodel and touch ups came out.

Nice English pub vibes. Our server Caroline was super friendly and kept checking up on us. I really enjoyed my burger with their house cured bacon and my husband said his chicken pot pie was really good.

Arrived back, and glad the food quality & service is still excellent. Definitely a local DC favorite. Came in late afternoon Saturday afternoon for my wife's birthday dinner, and seated after a short wait in the upper outdoor patio area. The day was a nice warm spring afternoon, and the low breeze was welcomed. The wooden patio table was large, and the seats very sturdy, but a bit hard to sit in. The lower patio with the tent is a bit louder, but good for general dining. Love the bar area too! Teen & I ordered a calamari and wife enjoyed a cesar salad for appetizers. All were very good, and the cesar was exceptional - and not overdressed. (+) For mains, we had the beef stroganoff & teen had the steak frites. Again, all were exceptional. The meat is from nearby Ayrshire farm, and very tender & flavorful. For afters there was a lemon sorbet in a hollowed out lemon (homemade, not store bought) and I had the sour cherry pie (good, but the filling seemed a bit underwhelming - but a very nice crust.) Price was not cheap with drinks & dessert ($60/person), but I'd say that it was commensurate with the quality of food & service. Service was very good (although the staff seemed to all be tired that day)- and the day manager did stop by all the tables to make sure we had what we needed. That was appreciated & nice to see. Glad we returned, and glad to see the Tavern doing well. Reservations highly suggested. Looking forward to returning.

Great food at a great value. We had a wonderful lunch. We ate outside under the tent and it was sublime.

NOTE: This is not walkable from downtown Middleburg - it looks it if you put it into Google maps,…read morebut it is a fairly fast with no shoulder road you have to walk along. Beers were pretty decent. I really enjoyed the Toasted Lager, Helles and Irish Red -- I am a more traditional beer drinker. But they have a huge selection from dark and toasty to fruited to IPA. I think you would easily find at least one beer here that everyone in your party would enjoy! PLUS - food is pretty good. It's not gourmet, but it is a cut-above some other local breweries for sure. I wasn't overly hungry so I had the chicken and lemongrass potstickers, which were extremely tasty... really enjoyed :) The atmosphere is great and there are lots of tables inside and outside. I think you might need to reserve special outdoor seating around fire pits, etc., but there is a significant number of first come, first server tables as well. We were a part of 8 in the middle of the afternoon and had no issue finding a table on a sunny Saturday. Their outdoor area is expansive and family and pet friendly too. Be on a look out for their various events and vendors on their website to see what else to check out while you are enjoying the brews.
