I am no stranger to flea markets, but what I loved about this one was the friendliness of the vendors. All were welcoming and willing to strike up conversation, especially about music. Woodstock is a diverse and eclectic town but it's also famous for its Mower's Flea Market every Saturday and Sunday in a big grassy area. Hubs and I have always made it a point every time we come to Woodstock in the last 20 years, to stop here first (out of nostalgia) before making the drive down home. Quite honestly, we've scored several hand-made pieces and a vintage Dashiki hubs had found for me. Mower's is made up of several vendors all selling something different. Over the years though, the amount of vendors have dropped. And forget about COVID last year- because it didn't take place and was weird looking at vendor-less lot when we came to the area for a day trip in the Fall of '20. But alas, Mower's is back in business and we were delighted to see more vendors (almost) recently like we used to 20 years ago. You'll find antiques, memorabilia, some kitsch- the same way you'll find locally made products. The way I see it, it's a shopping haven for me. Just make sure you get here before they close for the season in November.

These ladies have a selection of minimalist-meets-unusual lifestyle and home items ranging from candles, door stoppers, jewelry, blankets, throws, outdoor mats and so much more done tastefully. This was almost a one-stop-shop place for us as we crossed some people off our Christmas list. Opening its doors a couple of years ago in what used to be a mechanic shop (of some kind I think), prices are "thrift"! Not far from the Woodstock line on Rt 212 in Saugerties, Ray's Retro has heaps of 50s, 60s, 70s vintage clothes, bags and jewelry, etc- plus you're guaranteed to find the perfect vintage piece with your name on it! My daughter says I like wearing "loud" things. While I don't disagree, I love adding just a piece that pops to my minimalist look and Rayann's met me there. From the Gong bell entrance to what's inside, every corner here has something for you...that's of course- if you're into this kinda thing. Hubs and I noticed a gently-used $2300+ Pottery Barn dining table at this Kingston, NY ReStore for a flat $700. The poundage on this 8' monstrosity of a dinner table had me sold. Except, it was 2' too big for my dining room. But the price was killer. This ReStore is spacious with furniture gathered into groups. For instance, chest of drawers are grouped together, coffee tables in another group, lamps together, etc. There's leven a back room filled construction items like kitchen/bathroom tiles, hammers, etc ridiculously inexpensive. This is one of the best choices if you are looking for second-hand furniture.
