    Custards freshly prepared

Wow, Wow, Wow. The first taste of the freshly filled custard croissant might have been the best bite I've had in our Vancouver trip. It's a very small store front located in the food area of the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet mall, with no lines at all. They focus on cheesecakes and cheese tarts, but my daughter had her eye on the cream croissant. So she ordered 3 for $16, choosing chocolate, earl grey and original. I shared in the original, and between the flakiness of the croissant and the decadence of the chilled cream filling, I was expecting an overfill of richness, making one bite sufficient. No, I could have eaten 2 of these no problem, and reminded me of how much I loved my first bite of a cronut. Just so good...

I walked by and just looked through the window. It sounded interesting, but didn't need it. Walked by again and decided to take a look inside, and then decided I needed to try it. I wanted to try the Apple Raspberry Cheese Tart, and they had just sold the last one to the last customer before me, which I later found out was my friend shopping there with us. I was a few minutes too late. So, I got one original and one lemon cheese tart. I brought it home, and shared it with my bf. It was delicious, and we ate it so fast. Too bad there's no locations near me.

I normally get the cheese tart but felt like trying their cream croissant The croissant is housemade and although small in size, the croissant is crisp on the outside and the cold icy cream on the inside is refreshing I will get this again! The store inside is small but clean and bright. It's a good place for a break from shopping The service staff are friendly and helpful with questions

These cheesecakes were so so good. It's like lightly sweet but mildly cheesy, sour and super creamy, the texture is almost creamy! The crust is buttery and soft. It's located inside the mall, we just happened to walk by while killing time at the mall before taking the train to the airport. I am disappointed I didn't get any during our trip until that last day. I got one and ate it in their dining area. The shop is really cute and I saw many people come and go with boxes of these cheesecakes. If you see a Castella... try one!

Bad food poisoning here after having a cheese tart. Reported to public health department - avoid.

Since their shop opened, I have found similar types of Chinese bread in other shops; however, I have never changed my opinion that this shop offers one of the best Chinese bakeries in the Lower Mainland. I visited this bakery again and tried the chocolate bread this time. It seems to be a new product. It was another amazing one. The chocolate sponge on the outside was very fluffy and soft, and the bread inside was chewy and soft. It seems they might use rice flour or something similar. Anyway, I was amazed by their products again. Their signature items, such as pumpkin bread, taro bread, and pork floss bread, are a must-try. The bread's texture is so soft and chewy, and the fillings are perfectly balanced. Compared to before, the prices have increased a bit; however, their bread is worth trying if you have a chance to visit Richmond.

The peanuts were highly rated but it was ok for my family and I. It is on the sweeter side. Not bad but not my favorite. Note, they are not open on Sunday and Thursday.

We went…read moreto another Pine House Bakery but in Vancouver to look for the Chinese Cookies, also known as Phoenix Cookie or 鸡仔饼, but didn't have the taste I was looking for. I guess there might be different owners and chefs for each of these bakeries. There's different style and ways folks make the 鸡仔饼 but this specific location makes it super well vs others. The flavor is different, and I use this one to compare to others. They also have other pastries and goods like a pineapple bbq pork bun, pineapple custard bun, cakes, etc. This location is located inside Parker Place, and with lots of other small shops and restaurants. Lots of parking too.

I never had this type of cookie ever in my entire life. One of my sisters in law introduced it to me about maybe 13-14 years ago and we haven't stopped coming here ever since. It's a must try! I don't know what's in this magical cookie, but it's sweet and savory with hits of umami. It's definitely giving lap cheong essence and we're here for it. Yum! Wish I had some rn as I type up this review. Whoever reads this please go get some and enjoy it for me! *cries in seattle*

Also compared it with a few other changfen/rice roll places in Richmond and we still loved this one the most, especially at this price point ($7.50 cad with egg added) The changfen isn't in very distinct strips because it hasn't had time to cool down and take shape, but I didn't mind. There's also a little table to sit at and the chili oil is SO GOOD OH MY GOD AND you MUST add an egg It's also super sweet how they're always really excited when we mention that we always stop by when we come up from Seattle :,) HARMONY BAKERY MY GOAT

I got the beef rice noodle roll and added egg for a $1 surcharge, total $7 CAD. What a bargain when other popular rice noodle rolls are approaching $10 CAD. They make each order fresh so it was steaming hot when I got my order. The soy sauce is prepackaged as this is primarily a takeout spot with just 5 seats in a small table (communal). However, we were able to find a spot and enjoyed the dish in the store. The rice noodle roll was really solid - they're not mushy like other places and they are easy to take apart. The soy sauce complements well with the dish and the beef is quite flavorful. I'd definitely come back here if I am craving rice noodle rolls. The only challenge is parking as half of the already tiny parking lot is reserved for staff and you'll be fighting for parking even at off lunch hours around 2pm.
