On Sunday afternoon I broke my front tooth. I called Castle Dental as soon as they opened on Monday, explained my situation and they told me to come in as soon as I could. I was there about 40 minutes later expecting to just have a consultation with a plan for repairing my tooth at another time. I was prepared to go a few days with a very unattractive, tooth gaping smile. I was taken to exam room almost immediately. Dr. Cerelli told me my tooth could be repaired with a crown and it could be done at this visit if I had time. When I left the office I had a temporary crown on my tooth (so no gappy smile) and an appointment in 3 weeks to get the permanent crown put on. I have been going to Castle Dental in Bastrop for over 3 years and have never had any complaints but this was over and above what I expected. This place is horrendous! They used all my insurance. Made partials that are falling apart. Went in over 7 times to get them adjusted and it was never fixed. Made excuses for it. When she was doing the casting I told her I moved my mouth to align my teeth. She said it was fine. From day one they hurt and was told the bite was off. Over and over I went in . Ya think? Cause I aligned my teeth and didn't let them sit in a natural way. She said it was fine.. excuse after excuse for there mess up. I now own a pair of partials that don't fit and are falling apart after only a year or so. I'm literally glueing them back every 3 months. It is disgraceful the work they do. New manager called me about just under a year later and I told her they were crap and all the hell I went through. . She just said sorry and there is nothing they can do. Excuse me? You made me a crappy pair of partials. Used all my insurance. I can't even wear them. When I do have to so much pain that I take them out as soon as I get in the car from going somewhere . So you can take all my money and leave me with a crappy pair of partials? It's ridiculous how much dental offices can get away with. They also screw up billing all the time. It really makes me not want to go to any dentist. Legit traumatized . I can't afford it now anyway cause they made sure to use all my coverage for BS. Made me a bite guard from hell. Not even able to use that as well. It's horrible. But all I get is a sorry and not we will make it right. Don't waist your time. These people are chaotic all the way around and will rob you blind. Whatever you do don't go here. Spent almost two hours all I could get was X-rays. Dentist gave me a long list of what was wrong with my teeth including one broken one and one that might be cracked but could possibly be saved. Waited over two weeks for them to send me my "care plan". This supposed plan did not include a cleaning, didn't address the broken tooth at all and still came out to almost 16,000. Called to ask about it and they said this was to restore my mouth to a "healthy condition" but it did not address the tooth that was broken, it did include crowns for two teeth I didn't want crowned, implants that he told me I could get, and a crown for the tooth that might be able to be saved. Still waiting for my care plan on my cleaning - but I was told they don't have a hygienist, so there you have it over-priced office that can't even clean teeth. When I was finally able to schedule my consultation for the endodontist in Sunset Valley, closest location to Bastrop I was told the tooth was broken and there was nothing she could do. Scheduled consult for oral surgeon which took a week and then they cancelled 45 minutes before appointment. The real kicker - they couldn't reschedule that appointment, I could call back in April and see if they had any openings. Learn from my mistake find a local dentist and stick with them. Castle Dental is a total scam just pushing implants and orthodontics. read more

I would honestly give them less than one star. I had a terrible experience there. Lied about having cavities, took almost three hours to barely even get a cleaning done, most unethical dentist I've ever seen. I went in for a cleaning, I always go every six months and just got new insurance so this was my first time going to castle dental in bastrop. First, they take about 30 xrays, I've never had a place take so many at one time, then they send me back out to the lobby and some time later take me back to the exam room. I sit in the chair for another hour before anyone even comes in. The dentist comes in and tells me I have two cavities and they are bad and need to be fixed ASAP. I was just at a different dentist less than six months ago and I've only ever had one cavity in my life so I just didn't buy it. Then another half hour later they try to send me home without ever doing the cleaning I came in for!! I had to insist someone clean my teeth and then Eventually the dentist comes in and does the cleaning, it was also the most aggressive cleaning I've ever had in my life. And then they try to pressure me to get the fillings soon because they are "bad and need to be filled". The minute I walk out of there I call my previous dentist to get a second opinion because honestly I just don't believe that I have two cavities. I go see my previous dentist the next day, turns out I don't have any cavities!! This place is a scam, telling people they need work done that they clearly don't, it's unethical and dangerous. read more

The orthodontist here is amazing does a great job. Takes his time knows what he is doing. He will not take your braces off until your teeth are perfect. Isn't that the whole reason you are getting braces. He is a perfectionist. Not like Ortho 360 this guy knows his stuff. I had one child done at Ortho 360 and one here and the one here teeth are perfect. I am having my other child's teeth redone by this guy. I was never happy with the way Ortho 360 did her teeth and she only had one tooth that needed adjusting and now they look worse. read more

I love this office! The staff is super friendly and helpful. I had gone to a different dentist and was told I would have to pay a lot of money to fix my teeth. Dr P was willing to save my teeth, but was honest enough to tell me she needed to extract one. I wanted a crown but she said no because she would still end up needing to pull it later and then I would be paying double for that tooth. She won my respect for that. This office is not all about the money, but what's right for the patient. read more

For backstory, I went to the dentist twice in the last 10 months and was told I had healthy teeth and gums and no cavities. When I went in for a regular cleaning I was told that I had fillings that needed to be replaced (they looked well sealed on the XRays), that I had gingivitis and required a deep cleaning on one tooth (I dont have these issues, I go all the time and brush/floss/mouthwash 2x /day) I was then refused service when I would not pay for the upgrades and still requested my regular dental cleaning. I would recommend no one ever go here. All they do is try to upsell you and tell you that you need all this crap that you dont. It was not just me, it was EVERY patient that was in there. They are in the business of making money, not promoting healthy teeth. I would also like to note, that they pointed out cavities that were non existent on the XRays (I can read them), she said I favor chewing on my right side because Im right handed (Im actually left handed and chew more on the left side), she mentioned I should get braces because she could tell I never had them (I actually had braces for several years in middle/high school). She also told me the amount of build up showed that I drink soda all the time (I NEVER drink soda, only water, coffee in the morning or really watered down juice) So basically it was all B.S. My experience here was anything but plesent. It took 2 fittings for my parcel and it'd still is not right. After I declined to implants I felt hurried out. The team at this office told me I had gum disease and 2 cavities. The estimate for the treatments to resolve the problems was almost $2000, which they promptly offered to finance with a high interest rate. I might have believed them if they hadn't tried to scare me about what might happen if I didn't quickly take their treatments. I turned them down and went for a second opinion at a reputable dentist in Austin. I found out I had no cavities and no gum disease. My experience would lead me to believe that this office is more interested in making money than keeping you healthy. read more

This place just wants your money and they even offer financing. My daughter had just had her braces removed in Austin and was due for a cleaning. Castle told me she needed scaling and had 10 cavities. I thought that was very suspicious. I took her back to her old dentist and found out she had no cavities and her teeth are fine. read more

Horrible horrible experience! I went here for a teeth cleaning and five fillings. After I had my teeth filled, I had bruises on my checks. Castle dental refused to do the standard teeth cleaning covered by my insurance. I was told I had gingivitis and of course I was charged for a "gingivitis cleaning" that wasn't covered by my insurance. My new dentist says I don't have gingivitis. read more

Should have known better when they hand you a bunch of legal forms to fill out authorizing treatment before they even know what your problem is. I knew I was needing periodontal cleaning when I went in. I have had it before. They want to charge you $144 per quadrant for cleaning, $280 for antibiotics, $31 per tooth to irrigate with tooth desensitizer, $20 per tooth for numbing gel for the gums and another $71 for some mystery oral irrigation! My last dentist charged $150 per quadrant for the cleaning and that was it. When I questioned their charges I was told I had to do it their way. I had to go to this Castle location instead of my regular one due to needing an emergency tooth extraction and they are closer to where I live. Now this will be my permanent office. Dr. Sudimack and the whole team at this location are GREAT! They are friendly and very helpful. They really make a normally unpleasant situation bearable. I have had to have an extraction and a root canal and both went smoothly and healed perfectly. I could not recommend them more. read more

Horrible place! would not recommend to anyone ever! I needed replacement locators for dental implants (which are super tiny rubber pieces to hold tension on implant to denture) I have 10 implants they wanted to charge me $140 for each one! it cost about $6.00 for each one when it is bought from manufacturer. I just left there and was super happy with how quick they got me in. I called a day ahead and got an appointment for the next day. When I went in they were all super nice helpful and knowledgeable. The tech took X-rays and then the dentist took a look, did a year exam and then at that time said I needed to have a tooth removed and I asked if he could do it today and he said yes so the billing lady took care of my payment and right away the Dentist came back and extracted the tooth. His assistant was so sweet and helpful all throughout. The Dentist and Jewel worked so quickly and were so nice. I can honestly say this was a great experience. I has already been on antibiotics for 10 days and I'm sure this helped make this process go so fast. Thanks for helping me get out of pain so quickly! Bastrop Castle Dental - I am at words, I called this office when I moved here because my six month cleaning was due, I showed up to the office and they took all kinds of x-rays and had the doctor see me, he was more interested in selling me costly services than anything, I never did get my teeth cleaned. A couple weeks ago I was having tooth pain, I decided to try them again, I take off work early and get to the office and sit there for over 30 mins. and they call me to the front desk to tell me that they have had no internet service since before noon, this was almost 3pm. I reschedule and go in and they do more x-rays and the doctor looks at my tooth and more less tells me I was crazy because he could not find anything wrong with my tooth, I walk out of there with my tooth still hurting. A week later I lose the crown on the tooth that I told them was hurting. I called today to see if I can get it fixed and they tell me that they have no doctor or staff all week. I still never been able to get my teeth cleaned, they are good at taking x-rays! This is the only place I can go to because my insurance. Never been so disappointed in a dental office. Why have dental insurance when this all you get a bunch of x-rays!!!! read more

I went to this location to have a tooth pulled. The Dentist was upset because I had no interest in there treatment plan. So instead of paying the normal $36.00 to have a tooth pulled he inflated the bill another $150.00 charge. I called the insurance company and was told that the $150.00 charge was unnecessary. $186.00 to pull a tooth I do feel ripped off by them. read more

My husband broke his tooth over the weekend. Castle is our only option on our insurance in our area. I read the reviews and decided on another option We went to another highly recommended dentist in the area. X-rays were taken and a root canal was in order. The dentist we went to did not do root canals so it was back to Castle. I was sooooo apprehensive after reading the reviews here. Dr. Dan Sudamac is awesome!!!! I can't say enough nice things about him. One of the 2 dentists on duty that day was sick so everything fell on him. He was slammed and still managed to squeeze us in for the root canal. I'm sure he was rushed but he never made us feel that way. He was patient and answered all of our questions. My husband's root canal was painless according to him and I quote "no other dentist will ever touch my mouth again" My husband has not had much luck with dentists. As for the recommendations for unnecessary treatment in other reviews, I can't say that we experienced that. Everything that was recommended by Dr. Sudamac was also recommended by the other 2 dentists my husband has seen previously. read more

As an ex-employee of Castle I can say that Castle is not the route to go. The best part about the office is the Hygienist. She is sweet and caring and doesn't try and charge you an arm and a leg. Castle as a whole is all about the money. The care and well being of the patient is very small. If you can not afford a $3,000 root canal and crown, which by the way has charges included that a specialist charges so you're basically paying for an Endo price even though general is doing it. Back to the root canal if you can not afford it they offer you a financing option with a high interest rate and if you still can't afford that, they send you out the door with pain meds. They do not try and help the patient in any way. While I was there i was the treatment coordinator and I can tell you that when someone goes over you prices before you have anything done, double check with your insurance because they will bull shit you and add on so much extra stuff that isn't even necessary. If you plan to ever visit this dental clinic please read this review before making your decision. If there was a negative star rating, this dental office will deserve that. I went to see them for my six months cleaning as a new patient. They took X-rays, had someone come count my teeth and examined them. Then one doctor named Sinan Abdukadhir came and said that everything was fine. When I asked about cleaning, they told me that it will be another appointment which they scheduled. Poor service! This is just the tip of the iceberg of the problem. I am a military person and went to this appointment with my wife. We both have different insurance and provided them the right information. Military Tricare does not have copayment or even deductibles. A few months later I moved to a different state. I received a bill that was forwarded to me by the postal service. It showed charges of $232 with payments of $39 and adjustment of $77. Remaining balance to be paid was $116. The whole thing seemed like a Nigeria Scam to me. I called the office for explanation of this. The first call, they told me that the insurance paid part and I have the rest to pay. I called Tricare, they told me that this clinic never filed any claim. I called the clinic again and they said that the filing was not done correctly because they switched off my wife's insurance and mine. Well, I asked them to fix it and call me to let me know. A month later, I received another bill for the same $116. At this time I realized that they can screw up my credit if I am not careful. I called several times and provided my correct Tricare insurance information and made sure that what I was providing them was up-to-date with Tricare. Tricare assured me my information was correct and that the clinic needs to file the claim. To make a long story short, I spoke with Brittnay, Stephanie, Kathy who work at the clinic on several days and all they will tell me was that they have a billing office which handles all that and they will ask them to submit the claim. I spoke with the office manger over the phone who told me that they will get it corrected and call me back to confirm. It never happened. I googled Dr. Sinan's personal phone number and called him to explain my dissatisfaction to him. He told me that he will look into it when he gets to the office and call me back. Later he texted me and said that he will discuss it with the office staff and give me a call the following Monday. Two months later this has not happened. I finally got a hold of the manager (Linda) again at another time and expressed to her how the whole thing was fishy and seemed unprofessional. It was a long and unpleasant call that day. I was so angry and... Knowing that I was so serious this time Linda waived off the $116 and emailed me the confirmation. I am glad that I canceled the follow up appointment for the cleaning. I would have received another bill. Please be careful with them. read more

the only reason i have been going here is because my insurance only pays for this dentist in bastrop. everytime i have scheduled an appointment with them in the past 2 years they have canceled my appointment saying that an emergency came in. the last time the receptionist offered to reschedule me in 3 months. i complained to HR who just happened to be there that day and she was able to reschedule me the next day. the bastrop office should take down their mission statement posted on the wall because i have not received the professional respect they claim to give. read more

My sister, now living in a nursing home, broke the front of a tooth off a bridge. We walked into Castle Dental without an appointment and they took her in immediately. The dentist was so nice. Knowing she could not afford a new bridge, he put the piece back on at a very discounted price. All the employees were very helpful and respectful. I called this dental office and told them that I just wanted my tooth pulled because I couldn't afford anything else. The girl on the phone said that wouldn't be a problem and they take my dental insurance. When I got there, they insisted on taking xrays, then the dentist came in and said that he could save the tooth. He said I had two adjoining teeth that needed root canals and crowns. I asked him if he would be able to start the root canals that day so I wouldn't be in pain anymore. He said that he would. I asked how much that would be and he left. I waited about 45 minutes for some girl who came in and told me that it would be about $1800 to save both teeth but the dentist wanted tto do a bridge that would be about $5700. I immediately said that I just wanted the one tooth extracted and asked how much that would be. It was going to be $159. She left. I waited about another half hour and another girl came in and told me the doctor was too busy to do the extraction today. I told them that this is the reason that they get such bad reviews and walked out of the office. How could the dentist, Dr. Sudimake, have time to do a root canal but not an extraction. He chased me out into the parking lot and offered me pain killer and antibiotic. I said no. The next morning I called Chad Byler's office in Bastrop, Tx. It is behind Home Depot. The receptionist was wonderful. I explained what happened at Castle and they took a couple of xrays and pulled my tooth out for $109. All of the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick.
