    Cracked completely in half!

Finally do I feel comfort. I know we all do and say things when we are mad. But, I finally feel that Dr Collins made a very good decision. He texted me when I left there that he would give me my money back, so I can pay somebody else. I feel that this was a great decision. It's a waste of his money to keep making me a set of dentures when they never look right. He is wasting his money and time like I am. This has been a long road, and I have not been satisfied with every pair. So he won't spend anymore money and time.

I'll even admit I walked in with a bit of an attitude -- I was frustrated, in pain, and had already spent a lot of money trying to fix the issue. From the moment I arrived, the Oakwood staff immediately put me at ease. Everyone was professional, kind, and incredibly accommodating. They were knowledgeable and took the time to really listen to my concerns. Dr. Lin performed a full exam and asked detailed questions about how the previous dentist had completed the procedure. We both came to the conclusion that the previous dentist likely didn't use a safety cover (rubber dam), which allowed an infection to develop under the tooth. What impressed me the most was how thorough Dr. Lin was. The practice has a 3D X-ray machine that my insurance didn't cover, but instead of retreating the tooth blindly, Dr. Lin offered to waive the fee so he could get a clear and accurate picture of the infection area before moving forward. On the day of the procedure, everything was on time and the treatment was done comfortably with no pain. As I walked out of the building, I told my husband I could already feel the pain starting to decrease. By the very next day I was partially eating on that side, and within four days the pain I had been dealing with for almost a year was completely gone. I am incredibly grateful and so thankful for the Oakwood team and Dr. Lin. If you're nervous about dental work or dealing with complications from another dentist, I highly recommend them.

I had to ask a couple of times to get a better explanation and opinion. I wanted a referal to a clinic my family had refered to before used that was execellent. He said he was friends with someone else. When I questioned the friends part, he changed it to colleagues. Since he didn't do any thing but advise me, I can only speak to his demeanor. Having been in pain for a few days trying to find someone to help me, I needed some compassion and only got it at the front desk.

I scheduled an appointment over a month ago, and the pain in my mouth has exponentially increased. I arrived at my scheduled time; I had already completed all pre-appointment paperwork. They asked for me for my insurance card, I immediately began to search for it on my portal. The Wi-Fi I "borrowed" was slow; (she wouldn't give me theirs) it was taking a little bit. I asked if I could be processed/allowed back as private pay, (I was in pain and had waited a month) giving me more time to continue to upload while in the dentist chair. They said I would have to pay then, and no refund would be considered once insurance verified. They had to prove insurance before they could allow me back. I showed them the phone with my active id card download buffering. I was then told it had taken too long, and I would need to reschedule for an appointment over a week later. When advancing this with the "office manager" she proceeded to tell me I knew about the appointment, and knew I would have to have it, and I should have called them ahead of time to make sure they had what they needed from me. They allegedly called me yesterday and today and left a VM, (no evidence on call log/VM) I asked again if they would please reconsider and allow me to see the dentist and get the card, or I would self-pay without question. She informed me, " she would not go back and forth with me". Ok good. I took my business down to Aspen Dental, where I was treated with some dignity and respect, they allowed me to show my digital card and saw me within an hour. I wouldn't take my dog/cat here if they were on their last leg. The animals would die in their lobby while finding the insurance card.

If you are receiving bills from this office, be aware that Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code §…read more16.004(a)(3) states that the statute of limitations for debt collection, including medical bills, is four years. From my understanding, a provider may still send a bill and request payment, but they cannot sue to collect the debt if the four-year period has passed. That's what I'm learning so far, I could be wrong. I want to share my experience so others can be informed. When I spoke with the manager, she told me that "dental" is not "medical," which I found surprising. She also provided statements--not itemized bills--showing changes over time as my insurance continued making payments, even though I asked for proof of prior billing or contact. I was trying to understand why I wasn't notified sooner, as timely coding adjustments, FSA, or other insurance remedies could have been available. She insisted they had sent bills, yet the documents she provided were statements that reflected ongoing insurance payments. This left me confused, especially when she attributed the billing process to a third party--something that doesn't change my concerns as a patient. Additionally, she emailed screenshots of my account, which helped me see what had been happening. I now plan to review everything carefully to determine what is owed and whether it was appropriate for them to reach out in 2025, long after I lost access to the insurance benefits that could have been used in 2020 to address any issues. just as an fyi: 1 - complaints with the Texas Attorney General (https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/consumer-protection) and the CFPB (https://www.consumerfinance.gov/). 2 - if the statute of limitations applies, then for collections, you can dispute it with the credit bureaus, citing the expired statute of limitations. I'm not sure that's the case with mine, but I know I didn't receive accurate information on the calls I had today, so I'll need to do my own research.

She is so comforting, brilliant and a master of her profession. She took the time to explain what was going on with my tooth and why it was necessary to retreat my root canal. Immediately upon reviewing my CBCT image she saw that the original dentist missed a canal. (Original one was done 20+ years ago, when the technology was not near advanced as it is today.) She explained this is more common than you would think because these canals are so tiny and can branch off. Root canals are often why people dread the dentist. I can honestly say that this was done with zero discomfort. She was able to remove the old material, locate and clean the extra canal and complete the procedure within an hour. So methodical, precise and efficient. I honestly wish there were more practitioners like her out there! Fabulous work. Thank YOU!

I went in on a Friday and was seen for my root canal on a wendseday the next week. I was seen by Dr. Meenal McNary D.D.S. she was great... very informative and walk you through everything that she will be doing for your teeth. I felt like I was in good hands. Being that this was first root canal ever. I had a Crack in my tooth and she was still able to safe the tooth instead of pulling it. Would highly recommend this Dr. The main reason I did not give all stars is. Be prepared for a sticker shock on what needs to get done. As this place is completely out of network with insurances. They do there best to work with insurance but more than 70% comes out of pocket. My tooth was in bad shape and seeing how I was reffered there. I felt like I could not go anywhere else. I no we have choice but with life happening and time which who has that now days. I choose to go here.
