I recently had to switch dentists because my insurance changed. I loved my previous dentist and had been going there for years so I was nervous about switching. My first visit to Walton dentistry was fantastic. The hygienist was super nice. I have mild sleep apnea and grind my teeth at night so I was interested in a mouth guard. Instead of just going with it, she explained that it was not covered by my insurance and talked to me about several alternatives. When Dr. Walton came in, he also talked to me about options and things I could try to help with my grinding and sleep issues. They were so caring. Unfortunately, I had a cavity so I had to visit again. Once again, they made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I even got to watch Netflix with headphones. I've been a patient of both Dr. Waltons (husband and wife) for many years, and consider them to be the best, most honest, caring, and holistic dentists I've known in my 70+ years. For my husband and me, it's worth the 35-40 minute drive. Dr. Danelle in particular has been behind the improvements in my oral health. The office is beautiful, well-equipped, and efficiently run. Updated experience: I had a pretty poor office experience at this dentist. When I scheduled my appointment I was communicative that the time was close to my previous obligation and that there was a chance that I will be late. I was assured that that would be fine when I scheduled the appointment. It was indeed not fine, and I was charged a cancellation fee, although I was present for my appointment. I got my teeth cleaned there in 2022. They told me then because of insurance policies they had to spread the cleaning out over 2 sessions. my copay for the 2 appointments was $285. seemed odd, but I did it. Three years later they are calling me and leaving messages that "my insurance didn't pay for all of it and I have an outstanding bill of $285." Hmm, the same as the first copay. It's sad, they had always been nice and seemed on the level when I had gone there years before ( and they cleaned all my teeth in one session). After being on yelp lurker for ~15 years this is the first time I've been moved to write a review. Had THE most bizarre and unprofessional experience with the staff here. I know healthcare is a business in this country, but man, it's sad to see it taken to an extreme. I literally LOVED my previous dentist of 10+ years but the commute was too long so I've been with Walton the last three years. It was nothing to write home about, but no issues until my last visit fiasco: 1. I called to cancel an appointment 44 hours in advance because I had a cough and low fever. I was told they'd see me anyway. It creeped me out a little that they'd rather have sick patients than a 2-day-notice cancellation. First red flag about their priorities. 2. I updated them on my symptoms the next day, and this time we agreed I should cancel due to the intensity of coughing and fever 3. Despite originally calling 44 hours in advance to cancel, they were unwilling to waive the $50 cancellation fee since their policy is 48 hours. I've never cancelled before, and gave as much notice as I possibly could. Seems a little harsh and disrespectful to be unwilling to waive it once for a long time patient, but okay whatever. 4. Here's where things gets weird! They rescheduled my appointment, and then shortly before the new appointment time, told me they made a mistake and shouldn't have rescheduled me before the $50 fee was paid (okay fine, your mistake). They obviously COULD keep my appt despite a $50 balance, or said "oops we made a mistake scheduling you while you have a small balance, we need to cancel." Nope! They proceeded to say I could either pay the $50 in the next few hours before my scheduled cleaning, or they would charge me a second $50 for this appointment. After a lot of rude and unprofessional back and forth, they finally realized they can't in fact cancel my appointment due to their own mistake/policy and then charge ME because they cancelled. Needless to say I won't be returning to a practice that cares more about a few bucks than literally anything else read more

It's totally unacceptable to leave children in pain for this long. Unfortunately very poor service at this practice. Dr Kyle Walton has an excellent bedside manner but his and his teams ability to coordinate care with other practices is very poor. We spent over 2 months trying to coordinate a relatively simple treatment plan with orthodontic and oral surgery practices in the area, but his team either would not or could not make the referrals. Dr. Danelle made it a totally painless experience, just like the last time, including the anesthesia injections, and that's amazing. Very easy to find location, ample parking, comfortable waiting room, state of the art dental equipment. If you're still going to a dental practice where the tech taking your X-rays has to hide behind a lead-shielded wall, and that causes you some (warranted?) consternation, let me tell you this: So low is the radiation from their hand held unit that the RDA sat right next to me as she took the X-rays! I've been going to Dr Danelle Walton for quite a few years. I would not want to see any other dentist. Dr. Walton is kind, caring, professional and knowledgeable. She goes above and beyond to make dental procedures as painless as possible. If she's not comfortable with something she will find someone who is and can do the procedure. I got my first crown at 70 yrs of age. I'm a baby in the dental chair, but they talked me through and helped me stay calm. Dr. Walton also does assessments and referrals for sleep studies. She is a big champion for helping folks with sleep apnea issues. The entire staff in the Walton Family Dental office is amazing. They will work with you to find the right appt. time, and be on the lookout for cancellations, if you need an earlier time. Great job! read more

Dr. Walton is THE BEST dentist. I think she's really amazing at her job because she's a perfectionist and really hard on herself. Haha I was impressed when I had my teeth bonded. I had worn away a significant amount of enamel, so she had to reconstruct my teeth. In other words, she sculpted the bonding stuff into perfect tooth shape for each tooth that was getting repaired. Very, very detail oriented work! When she was done, my teeth looked perfect, but she was still worried it wasn't good enough. That was maybe 9 years ago? My teeth still look perfect. I referred her to my boyfriend recently. He visited her the first time this week. He said that she was super knowledgeable and was able to answer a lot of questions for him related to thyroid, acidic mouth, breathing, etc. Anyway, Dr. Walton is awesome. And humble. I noticed another reviewer describe the neighborhood as "super sketch." I love that Dr. Walton opened her practice in a working class, family neighborhood. Scheduling, checking out-of-pocket costs, cleaning, etc. Everything went as well as I could imagine. If every dentist was like this, more people wouldn't hesitate to go. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, but I want to especially give a shout out to Jenna (sp?) who was the hygienist I was lucky enough to be scheduled with. I hadn't been to the dentist in an embarrassingly long time and was scared of going because I didn't want to be judged or scolded for my poor dental history. I don't remember why I chose Dr. Walton, but I'm so glad I did. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, professional, and nonjudgmental! I have been in SO many times over the past two years - every three months *at least* - and they always make sure I'm comfortable, even including sunglasses and a comfy blanket for when I'm getting some more involved work done. They also helped me get the most out of my dental insurance plan, planning procedures and fillings strategically, so that I could save money, and I appreciated that immensely. As a bonus, Dr. Walton is so fun and makes you feel like a friend. Her dental hygienist Cassidy is absolutely lovely as well. I came here based on the reviews I saw on Yelp. I honestly looked this place up and didn't even realize what part of town it was in... so unfortunately it ended up being pretty far from where I live which is the main reason why I will not be back. The location is also super sketch. It is in a corner next to a laundromat and shares the space of an apt complex (the apt complex is kind of behind the dentist office). I didn't feel safe walking to my vehicle and that's another reason why I will not be back. The service itself was good for the most part. All of the girls that work in the front desk and answer the phone are SUPER sweet and super helpful. Honestly, I think they are probably the nicest desk staff that I have ever come across in a dentist office. I walked in to the room and this lady took some of my x-rays... this is when it kind of went sour. The lady was not as personal and not as nice as the ladies in the front desk. She didn't even try to have a conversation with me .... which as a person that hates going to the dentist, this made me very uneasy. I also had to bite onto a thing to take my x-rays and it kind of hurt my mouth but that isn't anyone's fault, i just hate x-rays. Dr. Walton was super nice and super comforting. He knew what he was talking about and eased my anxiety about my gums and my teeth. He was also very honest with me and didn't try to sell me anything which I loved. He was great and I recommend him if you do come here. Overall, I would recommend this dentist to anyone that LIVES in the area. This is the first dentist I have been to in Austin, and I won't be going anywhere else. I saw the female Dr. Walton, and she is incredible. I had to get some major work done, and I couldn't believe how quick and efficient she and her team were. Not only were they quick and efficient, but I have never had a dentist explain to me and show me in so much detail what was going on inside my mouth. I waited a few weeks to post this to see how the work turned out, and I can safely say that a few weeks later my teeth are already back to normal and feeling great. Okay, so I setup this Yelp account just so I could give Dr. Walton and her staff a wonderful review. They really deserve more than 5 stars. Let me tell you if you are looking for a dentist this is the place you want to go..look no further! Like many people I have some terrible anxiety over the dentist and have avoided going which only makes things worse. I came in to have a crown procedure done which I was really stressed about. Dr. Walton did an amazing job of making sure I wasn't in pain and I felt totally at ease with her. She talked to me like a friend so I automatically calmed down. She also explained to me what was going on in my mouth so that I could understand and didn't make me feel guilty about my teeth. Something I was really worried about turned out to be almost painless. I feel like she was taking care of my teeth like I was a family member. She was able to make the crown right there in the office so I could walk out that day with the procedure done. Oh... and the music in the office is on point. The front staff was so warm and inviting and setting up an appointment was quick and easy. I am not scared to go back and have more work done which is the most important thing to me. I just wish I could've found her sooner.
