Dr. Castle himself is a kind personality, and his office staff and assistants are also kind. Dr. Castle agreed to finish the work that Dr. Poole had started before she had to have surgery and closed her practice. I was nine months away from being finished to close the open bite on my right side. She had me in stainless steel, telling me that plastic aligners would not close the bite. She left a detailed treatment plan to be completed, and Dr. Castle was listed on her list of recommended orthodontists. Unfortunately, he convinced me that the job could be completed with aligners. He removed the stainless steel, bands, brackets and tongue spurs that were stopping my 40+ year tongue thrust habit that caused the problem, allowing the habit to return. I would be told six months later by a family member I had gone to visit. I was unconscious of it. I even did it in my sleep. The progress of closing my bite was also stopped due to removal of the brackets and bands. I had to convince Dr. Castle to replace the tongue spurs and bands, which the aligners would accommodate with alterations. The job was supposedly completed seven months beyond the initial two-year process started by Dr. Poole. The beautiful alignment of my upper teeth, eliminating the bucky bunny look was lost by the aligners. My bite was not fully closed to enable grinding of food. My teeth on the left side were too worn down and would have to be capped, so an open bite on the right was not okay. Dr. Castle denied the right bite was still open, using his scanner instead of impression materials to view the bite physically. He did no other bite tests that would confirm this. He also told me there was nothing more he could do. I left his office in tears. My cosmetic dentist confirmed the open bite with his impression materials and had to cap my upper teeth to get closure, costing me several thousand dollars more. Orthodontics would now loosen my caps, so I have to live with the ruined alignment that cost me nearly 4K paid to Dr. Castle. I hope Dr. Castle learns from his experience with my mouth and does not do this to anyone else. I do not recommend him for ANY open bite problems or cosmetic alignment. I do NOT recommend plastic aligners for anyone. It's a lazy and expensive way to do poor orthodontic treatments. read more

Wonderful ortho practice! My two girls had ortho a number of years ago in a different office and it was a very good experience. Now my boys need ortho and it's great to see an updated, clean, efficient, and friendly office here in Santa Maria/ Orcutt. Dr. Eric Castle is warm, professional, and patient. I can not say enough good things about Castle. After 4 years in braces as a teen the thought of walking back in to an ortho office with your child brings back less than amazing memories of your youth. Everyone from the front desk to dental assistant to Dr. Castle was amazing. They put both myself and my daughter at ease. Things I love: 1) The lobby is welcoming, clean, and very modern. Games for the kids and coffee for the parents who doesn't love that? 2) You know exactly what you will be expected to pay and the information is given to you up front and given the opportunity to answer any questions you have. 3) Nothing is rushed and everything is fully explained to the patient. 4) The day after the braces when on we received a call from Dr. Castle checking in. 5) The location is easy. They do not check forms or labels for allergens. My child had anaphylaxis on the way home! Do NOT bring your child here if they have allergies. One accident is all it takes, sadly. I decided to get my teeth straightened last year, and my dentist gave me a referral to Dr Castle. I was a little nervous because I'm 'too old for this' and I wasn't sure how it all was going to go. The staff relieved my nervousness at the consult appointment and have been wonderful! I got Invisalign in August (8 months ago) and the difference is incredible.
