This might seem exaggerated, but Castle Rock Martial arts absolutely helped change my life. I was living a low-functioning life due to many health issues. I have been diagnosed with a rare immune disorder, fibromyalgia, multiple surgeries (including a prosthetic disc in my neck), but worst of all was a looming MS diagnosis. Some days my legs didn't work or I had severe muscle locking. Bottom line, I was ALWAYS either sick or in excruciating pain or both. The muscle atrophy was making it difficult to walk stairs and my cardio and endurance health was probably at absolute zero. This wasn't an acceptable way of living for me and I was seeking new ways of transforming it it at every turn. When my husband and son told me they had joined martial arts together, I immediately said, "I'm in"! When you're at the bottom in pain regardless of anything, what's to lose? Starting to move again was brutal, and some days in the dojang were the forging fires of of my soul. I keep telling myself to fight this invisible foe...Just keep going...You got this...Don't give up...Bring forth the warrior within! And, eventually I began increasing my strength and endurance, overcoming what I was losing. (Friendly fyi tip for all MS'ers out there, don't go to class during a flare! No the muscles don't stop locking no matter how much you stretch and you're liable to pull tendons from the bone). Two years in, and I'm still going-- stronger and more determined than ever! The training team has not only been encouraging, but they been beyond patient in my training and making modification wherever I have needed to. Master Scott's mental talks and encouragement help so much through this! All of the highly qualified trainers and masters will push you to bring out your greatest version of you too! Today I will test for my second degree red belt stripe and hell yea I'm ready! When your outer game steps up your inner game must match it, and transforming myself into something better every day is my path. I have the honor and privilege to train under Master Scott and his instructors at Castle Rock Martial Arts (CRMA), and now my kids are training there as well! Amazing teachers with great students. My daughter comes for Krav and I couldn't be happier. The seasons start wIth solid conditioning before worrying on techniques. The conditioning will definitely make everyone sweat before the work starts. I have watch my daughter go from needing 2-3 breaks in 30 minutes to making it with no issues. The way everyone is supportive made a world of difference for her. The technical parts are legit. These are for real fights, in the real world with real ways to protect yourself. Right now they are working on getting out of headlocks..... that is one more thing I won't be doing anymore with my daughter lol. Initially, great intro. Made my son feel comfortable right away. ...First class, still impressed. Great structure and organization. My son is a new white belt. We joined to gain confidence and leadership skills. FIRST CLASS: The kids had a great time, showing respect for one another continously. Our 8-year old daughter wanted to begin karate and we picked CRMA randomly. We are so glad we did! The instructors are great with the kids and have really helped with her confidence.
