They do great work. They replaced the sewer pipe under the house, replaced a sump pump, and added a garbage disposal. We are very happy.

I asked him if I would need a work permit pulled for these repairs and he said "no". I thought F.S. Plumbing was a licensed plumbing company. I later found out it is not a licensed plumbing company. I also found out from both St. Louis County and St. Charles County that a permit would have been required for these four repairs. When Frank came out to do the work, he tore out a part of the wall in my bathroom, he said the only way to repair both drain pipes was to cut a hole into the metal vent that was inside the wall. I asked him if it could be easily repaired and he said that it would be an easy fix and that I could fix it myself with a piece of metal and a few screws. He told me he thought it was a cold air return. When I told him my cold air return was in the hallway, he didn't respond. I then told him I thought that was the vent coming off my furnace and asked if he wanted to go to the basement to look. He had been in my basement earlier to look at my outdoor faucet pipes since he was going to repair them as well. He declined going to look in the basement to see what the vent was and he proceeded cutting into the vent. He cut a large hole in the vent and the way that it was cut I saw no way to repair it since the one drain pipe was running right through it. I decided to Google "can you cut a hole in a furnace vent?" I got the quick response of "absolutely not". I called my local fire marshal and he agreed that it should have never been cut due to it being the furnace and water heater flue vent for carbon monoxide release. I called a retired HVAC friend and he said Frank, a plumber, should have known that you can't cut open a furnace flue vent. He told me not to pay Frank until I found out how much it would cost to replace the flue section. After I researched and found out this information, Frank asked to be paid. I told him I couldn't pay him that day until I found out exactly what it was going to cost to replace the flue vent. He said he wouldn't leave my house until I paid in full. I felt threatened and intimidated so I wrote him a check for the full amount of $1495. Frank left the house and, I found out later, he immediately drove to my personal bank (of the check) and cashed the check that same day. Also, when Frank left my house, he didn't tell me to not use my heat or hot water, or to turn them off in the basement. I could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning if I hadn't called my friend, later, who told me this fact. My friend told me how to shut off the gas furnace and water heater valves after Frank left to cash my check. I didn't have heat or hot water for over two weeks until the flue vent was ordered, delivered, and replaced. (The vent was a special order and came from out of State since it was a vent from the 1960's and no other manufactured flue vents would fit properly or safely). Frank refused to pay for the repair which turned out to be a replacement of the section of flue vent between the two bathrooms. I got 4 bids for him so he would see I was trying to get him the lowest price for the flue replacement. The HVAC bids ranged from $1500 - $2500. Frank came over to my house a few days after his initial work and said he was going to "fix" my flue vent. He was holding a tube of caulk and a piece of metal. I told him again that the flue section had to be completely replaced. He didn't believe that the flue had to be replaced even though a fire marshal and six HVAC guys said the situation was very dangerous and the vent section had to be replaced. I spoke to Frank, off and on, for three weeks giving him ample time to do the right thing and pay for the flue replacement. He refused, and the last time I texted him he texted me "God is watching". I had the flue vent replaced and I paid for it. I, also, had to have another plumber redo the drain pipe repairs that Frank charged me $895, I had to pay an additional $1000 for the drain pipes to be moved to the correct position, away from the vent. I had to have the wall repaired with new dry wall and tape since the HVAC man had to tear the wall out to get to the entire flue vent. I contacted YELP in late March since Frank has the red YELP GUARANTEE but they have not responded to my filed claim. I have contacted the Missouri Attorney General Consumer Complaint department and they have opened complaints against YELP and F.S. Plumbing and are currently investigating the claims.

I have never received a more ridiculous bid. This company gave me a bid for $20,000 for a job that…read morewas done by another company for less than half of that price with a warranty. Shamrock's bid required tearing up concrete inside my basement bathroom and outdoor concrete sidewalk. The bid did not include fixing these things back to where they were just for the record. Meaning they would tear out the wall, the toilet, the sink, the tile, and I was responsible for getting rid of all the debris and replacing everything and putting it all back together. They basically said in the bid that they are not responsible for just about anything that happens while they are there and did not even give a quote on the length of pipe to be replaced. Meaning they could tell me anything once they opened up the ground and said oh well that wasn't included. They basically said if we damage the grinder pit that they aren't responsible for that. If the digging they do compromises the structural integrity of my deck that they aren't responsible. If their equipment gets stuck in a pipe, I am responsible to pay for the removal and repair of that. They aren't responsible for any damage caused by weather so then they can just leave everything as is and not worry about trying to mitigate anything. This contract was the biggest joke I had ever seen. It did not include a diagram of where the new pipes would go, how much of the concrete would be removed, where the new pipe would go and on and on. With a huge price tag and many disclaimers that said the price could end up being signifcantly higher than the original bid. The company I did hire fixed the pipe, did not tear up any concrete, inside or out, did not disturb the soil around my deck piers, and were done in less than a day. I had another company inspect their work and the project passed inspection. This cost less than half of Shamrocks ridiculous bid and came with a warranty. Shamrock wanted to destroy so much of my property for absolutely no reason, well, the reason was to walk away with big dollars and leave me with a nightmare.

We had just bought a house less than two months prior and had plumbing back into our house three weeks in. We called Roto-Rooter who "fixed" the issue temporarily. They sent a less experienced plumber out first who could not pinpoint the issue and the "experienced" one the next day was unable to find the sewer cleanout and had to run a smaller blade through the pipe to create a quick fix. When it backed up into our house again three weeks later, we called Bies and Joe came the next day. He found TWO cleanouts in our yard, broke up all of the debris at our connection to the city main, and showed us live footage of said debris getting pushed through. He did everything Roto-Rooter couldn't do in half the trips and half the time of one Roto-Rooter trip. Joe was fantastic to work with, fixing our problem with expertise while offering several helpful tips for the future. Could not have asked for a better company, a better price, or a better person to come fix the issue.

Vance, who I am told is a service manger with Beis, was immediately defensive and dismissive when 1) Learning his technician said the hot water expansion tank was out of code before learning Beis themselves installed it and me providing him this feedback and 2) Getting feedback that a $165 service charge is a lot for a technician to spend 25 minutes at my home to tell me my T&P valve was set off (which I informed them was the reason I called to begin with). I would not at all recommend using Beis for any service issues whatsoever as you're going to be met with a dismissal of any concerns or feedback immediately.
