He made the assessment himself, spotted the problems then gave me an estimate on the spot. He then texted me a contract which I Docusigned. We set up an appointment for March 31. On March 29 Ezekiel called me if I was available Monday, March 30 for the roofing job. He said there's a rain in the forecast starting Tuesday through Thursday and he wanted to get the work done before the rain. Of course I agreed because I was worried too for the rain because it will cause some leaks inside the house again. So they came and worked on the roof today from about 10 am to 4pm. He sent 4 guys for the job. After the job was completed, he sent me pictures taken by the workers and I compared them to the pictures he had taken when he made the assessment himself. My husband and I are happy for the service they had done. They also cleaned our gutters!! They cleaned the surroundings of the house for the debris and dust. Very Satisfied customer here!!! It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company only uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. He doesn't use pressure treated wood. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

It was his willingness to work around my schedule and ultimately by replacing 20-plus dual pane argon filled windows, without damaging my stucco and or interior wooden shutters. Jason replaced my windows by replacing the glass inserts without altering the frames! During this process (completed in one day)!!!! I decided to have him install two shower doors, a full size tub as well as full size walk-in shower. Both showers door's are of 3/8th thickness, very solid, high end product and with a crew of professionals to complete an accurate and one time install. Jason and crew are Pro's, personable, approachable and an honest hard working group of guys! Jason works with suppliers to reduce cost, expedite deliveries and fight for me when scheduling became an issue. You can see out of the screen perfectly from the inside, but can only see inside if your face is pressed against the screen. The privacy factor wasn't as important to us, we mostly wanted the airflow. The screen looks beautiful and adds so much airflow and light to our house without our pets being able to burst through. Just about 6 weeks from ordering to install was pretty quick turnaround, as even ordering a screen from Lowe's would have been 6-8 weeks just for delivery. Steep price due to our extra tall doors, but comparable to other vendors. XL doors come with XL costs. Not having to install it, redo the stucco ourselves, or worry about break ins or rust with their guarantees was 100% worth the price.

I think most companies receive their products from the same few dealers out of the area, so all of the other factors - sales, recommendations, follow-up, and installation are where Steve's really shines. Their salesman was a zero-pressure, information-forward gentleman who provided plenty of options and recommendations that would fit our front door and window setup. The front desk staff/logistics/admin were friendly, happy to chat with us, and flexible when it came to scheduling and planning. The installers are absolutely top-notch - these really feel like "local guys from the neighborhood" who care about making sure their work is here to last and be permanent. Just because the main offices aren't in Sacramento doesn't mean they don't care about each customer, regardless of where they're located. The final product is absolutely top notch, and we use everything on a regular basis. We get compliments and have sent friends to Steve's for referrals. Their whole product/installation is a perfect example of buy-nice-or-buy-twice - expensive, but arguably worth it overall.
