Do not go anywhere near this place this guy is a scammer and a thief. He quoted me 4900 to replace my transmission for a new rebuilt one and said it would be 2 weeks... it's been 2 months.Every time I called him he would give me an excuse to why it wasn't ready. Then he did something super sketchy. He called me and begged if I can pay him all upfront before he gave me the car because he said that people hacked into his account and took money and that he's struggling to make ends meet. He said he would take off money from what I owe him and insisted on giving me a 3 year warrant. I simply denied and told him I don't trust him and that I needed my car already he said it would be ready Monday. I pull-up Monday and guess what it's still Not ready this time he says some guy from the dealer has to come and program the trans I waited there with him until the shop closed and still nothing. He then told me that he would personally take the car to the dealer and would update me in the morning. That same morning I called him and he said the guy from the dealer was already there programming it but now some part of the clutch is broken and he has to keep it 3 more days. This shop is definitely the most bullshit repair shop I have ever in my life dealt with. The owner was paid in full to rebuild my transmission on my car ($3100.00 and credit card fee). For over 2 months I had to deal with apologies, lies and bullshit. my vehicle was at his shop on and off for two months while all this pos did was clear code and gave car back to me stating he rebuilt the transmission. After leaving the shop in car I then went to smog shop to get car smogged. The smog shop said I have to drive car to get the car ready for smog. because the pos all he did was clear code and God only knows what. The pos even went on to say he would find someone to illegally smog the car so at least the tags were up to date. While my car was in the shop it was crazy because this pos was driving my car home after getting off work at night and when my daughter went to shop to check on the car, he had laundry and his personal item in my car as if he was using it for his personal use. There are multiple complaints that are going to be filed against this pos as well as a lawsuit. My apologies to all but DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS NO MATTER WHAT UNLESS ITS A ONE DAY JOB and my suggestion is better be there to make sure your there during that time to make sure, he is working on your car. This guy apologizes so much and thinks apologies are going to fix the problem. All I am going to say is this guy tried to fuck the wrong person. If you look at previous reviews it appears this pos is known to do this to other customers. I even have video of him saying he replaced parts multiple time and they were defective. I called every transmission shop around pomona...I have a 2004r in oldsmobile...noone wanted to touch it..said its to old...they dont wanna be liable...not all shops I got 3 that wanted to charge me 5 grand for a rebuilt cos they seen my car...I was sooo close to selling it...and i drove past castro transmissions and seen he works on old-school cars aswell...so i drive up there and spoke to him and seen my car and gladly took it in...it took a while cos hes working alone and he is a diabetic type 2...so I let him work at his paced and call me when its done.....i recommend everyone to go to him for your needs....he fixed my transmission and more without charging me extra and hes very affordable...I didnt gave to pay the 5k he saves me soooo much money and happiness cos I get to keep my car I had been built since i was 16...im 37....this guy is the absolute best and great at his work....ima keep this guy as my mechanic read more

called friday for an emergency fix for monday and took it in saturday and was finished the same day, changed my transmission fluid and filter and showing my old transmission pan to see whats wrong, after he changed it my 530i started running way better and every gear was changing perfectly. highly recommended mechanic for sure. read more

From my very first visit Edgar was extremely kind, professional and very honest. the mistakes he had did on them he said he had worked on them , but clearly he had not touched them at all. His nephew had said Castro had not touched the car since I had left it there days at a time.I didn't trust the fact he parked cars on the street and I felt uncomfortable knowing I had just paid for a brand new paint job for my car. Took my ford escape because transmission was slipping. Edgar the owner was adamant it was the torque converter and replaced the converter. After the repair, first and second gear did the same but worse than the original issue. I'll get right to the point, car transmission was not responding how it should, took car in and Edgar was very friendly he even bought me tamales. Should've known, he recommended I get transmission reconstructed and a new radiator. He said "it'll be ready in a week" haha. 1st week he said he "fell ill and short a guy", "it'll be ready by Tuesday", (1st car rental) I called and he said "it just needed the new radiator and it was done". Gave him benefit of the doubt he was ill, I'll pick it up Friday he said "it'll be done". 2nd week, my truck went down and I made the mistake of towing it their (big mistake) now he had both my cars, spoke with him he said "car would be ready Saturday at 2pm", (2nd car rental) called and he said "by 7pm", called no answer twice or so. Called back Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday with no answer and no callbacks, left messages and nothing from this guy. 3rd week I was done, showed up on a Friday with 2 tow trucks, he was surprised and said my car 'would be done today by 7pm'', I said oh really that's nice, he had 2 other cars on his 2 lifts. I said I'm taking my cars I don't care the condition of them give me all my parts. His assistants did, my car was a mess, this guy is full of lies!!! don't trust this guy he comes off as a nice guy that talks a good game but is full of nothing but excuses. I made the mistake of granting him $1000 deposit. He then had me sign a paper saying he'll return it 6-15-24 which had blank information of the money everything was costing. I pulled out the original paper and told him why don't you want me to sign this one instead, he said "can I make a copy of that" really common man, This guy is full of tricks I'm telling you. Took my classic car in to get driveshaft installed. Transmission lines corrected. I was told it would be done in a week. It wasn't. Every week I wouldn't give him benefit of doubt. But after 6 weeks I took my car back. He was able to I stall new transmission lines. But I believe they lost my driveshaft. I took my car back from them without the driveshaft. Now I have to spend more money at another shop to get the car running. read more

To start with, if I had properly done my research and read the reviews about this place, I would have saved myself a lot of pain and suffering. The mechanic ( Edgar the Maniac ) who is corrupt and a liar claims to be the owner and is not. You never see the owner. I took my car to have my transmission replaced, he promised he would have it done in two days, but I did not have my car back for over 2 months! He broke my dash board and couldn't repair it claiming it was the ECU computer which he also messed with. He also destroyed my radio, destroyed my hazard lights. My dash board is still cracked and have to pay out of pocket to get it replaced. The outcome of the transmission is that it is now making noises and I have to spend money out of pocket to replace it again. After destroying my dash board I asked for my car back, he said I could not have it back because I had a contract, but because he destroyed my dash board it was a breach of contract. I had to use police and the court to force him to give my car back.This man and his equally corrupt female assistant should not be allowed to be in business. If you are skeptical about doing business talk to the people at the upholstery store in front of his corrupt business. Given the option I would give this place a negative star review. read more

stay away from this place unless you have money to burn and a fleet of cars to spare! took our vehicle for transmission replacement, he gave us a good quote and a 2 yr warranty. that's where the good part ends. he so-called fixed the transmission but only to break down again in 3 months. we took it back for warranty work but every week we get some excuse, it's not ready, my mechanic quit, i am short staffed, etc. he did this for over 1 year. we had enough and demanded our car back and he refused to give it back. other people were there too asking for money back or their vehicles fixed or returned. had to call ontario pd for help. car transmission was in pieces and probably parts were taken out when we recovered it. reported him to the bureau of autmotive repair and took him to court - he didn't show - how typical. we can only hope that someday we recover our $3k he owes us. stay away - he's a crook, a fraud, and a bully according to other customers there they've been threatned by some of his low life associates. beware!!! how does the government allow him to stay in business? read more
