Not being a huge BBQ fan, I've only eaten at Casual Joe's a couple of times. It always struck me a more of a BBQ purist type of place. When I heard that they had changed the concept, I decided to give it another try. I didn't fully explore, but they have reworked the space, so it does not feel as industrial as before. I'd say the best way to describe the new design as kind of a BBQ Chipotle theme, where you chose your meat and then build from there. They still have the smoked meats and sandwiches, but have added an interesting mix of bowls, salads and other items to the menu. I went with chicken bowl that was served on a bed of mac and cheese that had sriracha and I think a Korean sauce on it, along with some other toppings that I can't recall. It was quite good and unique (at least for Whitewater). I'm surely going to work Casual Joe's into my lunch rotation.

Outside! Check out that smoker. Can't wait to go back!

Bomb dot com Barbecue! What an authentic Midwest experience. The smoker where All the meats are smoked sits right in front of the restaurant. The vibe is super casual but very fascinating. The brisket is off the hook and I'm still craving more of it! THe Mac and cheese is a fan favorite so much that they were actually out of it by the time we ordered. Corn bake and corn bread are also AWESOME!

Stopped by spur of the moment when i saw the smoke truck right out front and a renovated garage. NOT disappointed. Delicious pulled pork brisket slaw and the bacon mac is 'da bom' . Cool place and you get a cold brew to wash it down. You have look for it as its outside the downtown main drag but not by much. Find it.

Best place to eat in whitewater hands down. This place is like chipotle but with brisket and Mac and cheese. Highly recommend the Mac smash bowls. Insanely good.

Good food. Got the sausage and brisket sandwich. Lots of meat and two side can't go wrong with this one . Wife got the smash bowl and again you won't leave hungry. Good smoke flavor.

Had the Korean Smash bowl. Loved it! Thought the seasoning on the meat had a great flavor. Will definitely be back for this again!!

While the food was good I had a disappointing enough service experience that I probably will not be going there again.

Very nice, very clean, easy access from the parking lot or aircraft ramp. We dropped in for breakfast (for my wife) and lunch (for me). My wife ordered the Florentine Benny, with an order of Turkey Link sausage. I went with their proverbial $100 Hamburger with french fries. We also ordered their donuts which came with a cream cheese sauce for an appetizer. The burger was cooked as requested, and tasted great. The concept of the "$100 hamburger" is by the time you factor in gas, that's what one would cost. It's actually probably higher unless you have a short flight right now. The Florentine Benny (eggs Benedict) was enjoyed by my wife, who loves her egg dishes. Service was effective - it kept the water glasses filled, and even the soft drink and coffee cup filled. The bathrooms are shared with the FBO and were clean. This is a really great place to go for breakfast or lunch.

Not - my husband received frozen hash browns rather than fresh. His food was burnt and then the waitress gave us the wrong bill, I didn't notice until after we left - I always take a picture of my bill. Also, by the time we arrived home both of us were sick. I do not recommend this place, and all we wanted to do was to support our local businesses - but were treated like we didn't belong. Sad - Oh and the health inspector should pay a visit.

Huge portions? Check. 6. Great food cooked expertly? Check. 7. Absurdly low prices? Check. Setting foot in Scottie's is like stepping back in time...in the best way possible. Finding a seat is pure luck; show up early or be prepared to wait, but know that you will be waiting outside, because there isn't an inch of spare room inside. If you do find a coveted spot, grab it because it won't be there long - and be prepared to rub shoulders and knees with the person next to you. Don't worry; that's all part of the experience. You might not know them when you first arrive, but you'll be best friends by the time you leave. Pro tip: the cook is not Scottie. There is no Scottie anymore. Presumably there was a Scottie once, but his whereabouts are unknown. At least to me. Jackie is amazing. If you've seen "Alice," she is the embodiment of Flo. I'm kinda shocked I haven't heard her tell someone to "Kiss my grits!" yet. She delivers good-natured sass just as frequently as plates of steaming hot food. Again, all part of the experience. Your food is cooked to order in front of you, so you know it's fresh. Even if the place is packed it won't take long, because there are only a handful of seats. And about that food: it's damn good. You can't go wrong with any of the skillets. The biscuits and gravy are wonderful. The toast, slathered with melted butter? Heavenly. The pancakes are enormous and awesome. The coffee, hot and delicious. Best of all, when you're handed your check, you will invariably mutter out loud, "That's it?!" The prices are insanely low. They're what you might have paid for breakfast in the 1980s. Two people can easily walk out of there stuffed and only $15 poorer. Tip Jackie well. She deserves it. It may be hot in there. It will definitely be cramped in there. You might see a fly or two. You'll leave smelling like grease. But you will be happy and satisfied and already planning your next visit. Besides, like I said... All part of the experience.
