Being in Lahaina on 5 August 2023, the day of the fire, I started to monitor various Facebook groups focused on assisting displaced animals and their owners in reconnecting. Searching, I found the Cat Café in Maui, an upcoming trip had us in Maui for the day and we were interested in adopting a Special Needs cat if they had one available. We adopted Lemon Pepper, the one-eyed tortie kitten. The CCM is every cat lover's dream!! The ambiance/the toys/the human interaction/the love/the gift shop and more. CCM and especially Moriah along with her staff were absolutely the best customer service team we've ever encountered. Their assistance in arranging all the details prior to our trip was so appreciated. A taxi ride from the airport to CCM found us immediately greeted with a warm welcome and everything prepared for us to welcome our new kitty kid and fly back to the mainland that evening. To make this possible, I simply changed seats to accommodate a soft-sided carry-on and paid Pepper's airline pet fee at check-in. CCM had absolutely everything prepared and ready to go - they provided all medical records (including spay/vaccination records) from MHS, we paid for the HC/soft sided carrier (CCM had a potty pad in the carrier and provided a bag with extra pads, hand wipes, gloves, cat treats should we need them for the two flights). For the protection of the cat at Pre-Check they had her in a zipped mesh bag inside the carrier. CCM's idea serves the best interest of the cat. In a private room at OGG Pre-Check, the cat was removed from its carrier while the agent put the carrier through the x-ray machine. Their method eliminates much of the stress on the animal. Pepper was the consummate seat buddy and welcomed by her new kitty buddy Peanut. Fast forward a couple weeks later and following the CCM Facebook page appeared "Louis" - a cat with no eyes. Perfect match for our 15 yo deaf/blind dog "Lucy" (issues since birth and suffered much abuse until we got her at about 1.5 yo) Again CCM had everything arranged for his travel and were able to hold him until our date of flight, and I handled the Alaska Airline part. With both kitties we had thank you's from the AS flight crews thanking us for what we were doing - I shared info about CCM with them to pass onto others. Louis was a perfect traveler and upon arrival at DFW he meowed several times - passenger commented he must realize he's home now! "Louis" is now Lucy's best buddy and in their own ways they acknowledge each other's companionship. "Louis" is amazing using only his ears and smell. It's MHS and CCM working together and helping the "Differently-Abled" that has "Enabled" us to have the best furry friends in our family. We're returning to Maui in October and have switched to middle pet-friendly and aisle seats for the return trip. Never say never! read more

Five Stars - A Purr-fect Family Break in Maui! We visited Cat Cafe Maui today with our 13-year-old and 18-year-old daughters, and it turned out to be one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable parts of our trip. We were looking for a relaxed family activity and found exactly that. Spending time with the kittens created a calm, happy atmosphere that lifted everyone's spirits, but especially those of my cat-loving daughter. Watching her interact with the cats was worth the visit all by itself. The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The environment was clean, comfortable, and designed for both people and cats to enjoy the experience. A helpful tip for future visitors: bring socks! If you're wearing flip-flops, sandals, or even some tennis shoes without socks, you'll need to purchase a pair before entering the cat lounge. The socks weren't expensive and actually made for a fun little souvenir, but it's good information to know before you arrive. Price-wise, we found it very reasonable--about the cost of taking the family to a movie. The difference is that instead of sitting quietly in a dark theater, you're surrounded by playful kittens, smiles, laughter, and positive energy. If you're looking for a unique family activity, a rainy-day option, a break from the beach, or simply a chance to relax with some adorable feline company, Cat Cafe Maui is absolutely worth a visit. We left happier than when we arrived, and that's about the best review I can give. read more

Can Cafe Maui and Moriah herself are amazing! Even though it's been two years since my son and I have gone there (the last time was at the beginning of a huge life-changing event), it was because of those three separate visits that year that ended up doing so much for me from then till now... my three furbabies home with their adopted sibling Hunter (Chihuahua/Fox-terrier mix) have been a Godsend during our ohana--especially MY grieve from losing a few loved ones so close in timeframes, especially one who raised me from when I was a baby. Idly going there, it was never planned, and what happens? Three beautiful babies that fate brought to me. 1) My midget naughty tomboy came home in 2 days before my bday in Jan... her bday is 7 days after my nana who passed. 2) Our Princess Snow White... picked her up while running late for an appointment with the curator. Her bday is 2 days after naughty tomboy. 3) Now he's my baby, BABY. He's always with me, keeping me company with Hunter, and he understands what I say to him. I got him a few days after the funeral services to say goodbye... now his bday is actually 10 days before my nana's husband--my Tata's bday in March. Thats still considered as fate to me. So I'll always have great things to say about this Cafe and I can't wait till I can bring home more. read more

We love Cat Cafe Maui! First, we visited as dog people, but left as cat people, and over the years we've adopted two amazing kitties from them! One is a chubby void who has a resting B face and loves belly rubs and the other is a feisty orange tripod that doesn't know he's missing his back leg. Both cats came super socialized and friendly, they love anyone and everyone they meet! The adoption process and all the visits we've had have been smooth and perfect in every way. My only complaint is that I can't move in to live amongst the awesome kitties and staff. We take every Maui visitor to visit, while restraining from adding to our very full seven-furbaby household. We are also hoping to help them fly a cat off island through their Fly A Cat program, a free way to help kitties get to their new homes by bringing them along on your flight to the mainland. read more

We discovered the Maui Cat Cafe on as a rainy day activity for the kids back in December. It has now become a "must-do" activity each trip (sometimes multiple times) rain or shine. We were smitten by all the sweet cats and kittens and the cozy, plush and impeccably clean space. With the help of the Executive Director, Moriah, we adopted two sibling kittens and safely brought them home with us to San Francisco. They have brought us so much joy. Moriah has put her heart and soul into this amazing cafe, facilitating hundreds of adoptions for cats who may never have otherwise found homes. She knows every cat, their temperament, their siblings and which have become bonded pairs. She even follows their journeys post-adoption. I am so grateful to Cat Cafe Maui for bringing my sweet kitten, Acorn, into my life! The adoption process was quick and easy, the staff go above and beyond to support the kitties and their new families during and after adoption. The cats have a beautiful and spacious home in the cafe with lots of thoughtful cat friendly features, I did my best to recreate the cozy atmosphere at home. Cat Cafe Maui is a must for both visitors and locals alike! A great group of people, super clean space, happy and loving kitties. We love the 2 fur-babies we have adopted from Cat Cafe Maui! One of the perks of a cafe setting is the socialization of the kitties. Our babies, one fully blind, one with a permanent wink, are the sweetest kitties. Cat Cafe Maui is an excellent place to adopt! First, the cats are treated like the prince and princesses they are from the second they arrive... And secondly, because the cats meet lots of people, and are around many other cats, they get really well socialized! My boyfriend and I have been blessed to adopt 3 of the sweetest kitties from Cat Cafe Maui, and we are exceptionally grateful! We visited on our last trip to the island on a whim. It was so much fun. Just cats... running the show. I personally fell in love with a senior fella that went by Wally. It was just an awesome environment. And it eventually led to us adopting our little Ahi June (peanut) once home. Also, they made that experience go as smooth as silk. Their love for what they do is something you feel whether visiting the storefront or actually adopting a new family member. A definite must visit when in Maui. read more

Went to the cat cafe just for fun , and we had an amazing time ! When you walk in, it smells like a spa. You are greeted by a friendly receptionist . You do have to make a reservation. We we're able to make one right there on the spot. Inside the room where the cats were , I didn't detect any litter box smell. They keep it nice and clean in there ! Petting and playing with the cats was so much fun. It was very relaxing and therapeutic as well. i highly recommend visiting !! read more
