I've had several situations that made me uncomfortable and ultimately led me to seek care elsewhere. For example, during one visit a vet strongly promoted a product while mentioning their student loan burden. After a surgery, a stitch was left in place; when I brought it up, the way the situation was addressed left me feeling blamed rather than supported. I've also felt pressured toward additional procedures that didn't seem medically necessary for my pet at the time. Lastly, I noticed a big change in my dog's behavior during our visits. She would begin shaking the moment we pulled into the Creekside parking lot. She has never reacted this way at any other vet or location. She's normally a very confident, relaxed dog, so seeing her shake like that was heartbreaking. It was another sign to me that this wasn't the right environment for her. I understand that every clinic has its own approach, but based on my experiences, Creekside is not for me.

Kitty area to the left and right has a pond. Staff are always friendly and do whatever they can to help. Phone calls and emails are always checked and responded to quickly. We see and love Dr. Meyer! Have also seen Dr. Sherman who was great. Woman owned practice as well! Doctors take their time and care about their patients. We had a doggie cross the rainbow bridge here and the staff/doctors were so respectful and empathetic. The practice also does a lot of community outreach which is a bonus! My most recent visit they didn't have 2 wet cat food items I was looking for so I walked in and walked out. It has become kind of a frequent occurrence in this regard and I often try to check what's in stock at this location before wasting my time going in but it is always wrong OR the item just isn't stocked at the store despite having it. Will be taking my business a bit further to Petco instead going forward.

Petco has done well with me over the past few years since my cat's on a special kidney diet, and as anyone who's had cats knows, their fussy eaters. After working with my vet about 2 years ago, we got puddy settled into her new diet and she's finally acclimated with her routine. When I was growing up we had a dog and we had that dog on Science Diet dog food. I also had a Beagle who ate science diet since he was over weight and getting these bags of food is somewhat expensive and this was before the day and age of the internet. So, coming to stores like this was imperative. But here's where I love Petco. In my area, there's only two stores that carry Puddy's Royal Canin wet food for her kidneys in the loaf style can, and that's Petco! (the other one's pet supplies plus.) I buy the cans about 5 or 6 at a time since a case (24 cans) is $70 on Chewy. The reason I get 5-6 can's at a time is because my cat's primarily on a dry food grazing diet. Wet foods only on request. Sometimes puddy will pass on the wet food for a few days and since I don't want it spoiling, I don't buy in large quantities. So, off to Petco we go. During the pandemic, there was a huge pet food shortage, and Petco saved me a few times by having it available and in stock when other places didn't. The food shortage went on for a good long while and it was rough there for a hot minute. But, they did me right and always came through when I placed an order and had it, compared to Petsmart who doesn't carry half of what I need anymore. The joy of shopping here is not only do they have my specialty food, but I can order in advance on their website and it'll be ready for pickup when I'm there. Sometimes they'll have it on sale and I do save a few bucks but I also like seeing what else they have here. I've picked up a few other things while here in the past which helps. The staff here's good, but for a while there, it was slacking. I appreciate them, especially post pandemic. They also do pet adoptions which is great. They have a grooming center for dogs, but puddy doesn't need grooming, so we don't go. I think they might have a vet area, but we have a specialty cat vet so I don't utilize that either. Overall, fabulous!

We have been going here for 2 years with our dog Phoebe, she's a 22 lb miniature Australian Shepherd. When I first called them to schedule her to get spayed I was told it's a $150 deposit (which they made me pay over the phone before the wellness visit, which I thought was a little off) and they also stated bloodwork would be $150 and that both of these goes toward the final cost of the surgery and when I asked for a copy of how much the procedure cost and what the medical care plan looked like, I received an estimate of $895.30, so I called back right away and they said that they accidentally sent over the wrong form and then proceeded to send over a new form with a total cost of $532.72 On 9/25/25 we go in for her wellness visit, it went good but then I get to the counter to check out and my total comes out to $262.00 for bloodwork and a fecal sample, I asked why is it so much I was told $150 over the phone for bloodwork, the check out girl with dreads couldn't give a direct answer other than stating that the bloodwork is $189.00 plus the $62.00 for the fecal sample. So after this wellness exam I have paid a total of $412.00 towards the procedure. I asked the assistant how much should I expect to pay when I come in for the procedure and she stated my total cost would come to around $550 which still doesn't equal what was given to me on the paper. So finally comes the day for surgery 10/1/2025 and it has to be rescheduled because staff failed to call me the day before with surgery instructions, which I then spoke with another assistant stating how unhappy I am with this place and how unorganized they are. She apologized and was very kind but it's probably because I was so upset and I made it known. So it gets rescheduled to today, 10/7/2025. I drop her off at 7am as I was told she will be the first one to get done since they were doing rescue dogs this day as well, I called at 11:30 to get an update on her and they told me she was just being put under, so my dog was sitting in the back for 4 hours before the surgery even took place, and I was told that's just how it goes. 12:00pm rolls around and they call me stating Phoebe is ready to be picked up, so the surgery only took 30 minutes, which i don't know if that's normal but I was just happy that she was done and well. So I get to the vet and they ask "why am I here" I explained I dropped my dog off to get fixed and I'm here to pick her up, she goes on to ask "is this a owned pet" and I had to explain again "yes, this is my pet" and she states my staff and I are all in an OSHA meeting (they were all in the waiting room) so someone will be with you shortly and as they are discussing this right in front of me all the staff are laughing and saying that they never have to follow this protocol, the one leading the meeting says and I quote "what are you guys on today, have you guys not been paying attention?" For them to be laughing about OSHA protocols is absolutely unacceptable especially in-front of a patient. So here I am at check out and get told that I owe $290.50, my jaw dropped, I was in shock because I was told it wouldn't cost more than $550 but here I am paying a total of $702.60 for my dog to be spayed. Yet they call themselves "Affordable" Veterinary Care. I asked them for a breakdown of everything I paid because I couldn't believe it was going to cost me that much, she goes on to say that the bloodwork isn't included in the plan and at that point I handed my card over and just wanted my dog and go home. When they bring my dog out, she didn't have her cone on, I stated "why does she not have her cone on" the assistant says "we didn't know you paid for one, we thought you were bringing one in" so as soon as we get home, I put her cone on and look at her incision, THEY MISPLACED A STITCH, she is bleeding, I tried calling them THREE TIMES, not a single answer so I call Groesbeck Animal Hospital and they advised me to bring her back to affordable vet bc it was their mistake and they should fix it and they didn't want me to pay another procedure fee but I said I would feel much better bringing her into the animal hospital. As soon as we got there we were seen in 5 minutes, the assistant and the Dr. were wonderful. I was very thankful for the animal hospital for being quick and efficient with their care.
