So I've been coming to Cataldo's for about 7 years now and I think it's time to give a review. The main source of food is obviously pizza. I haven't had anything other then the traditional pepperoni pizza. It's a family favorite of ours and the review will be on the pizza and the establishment. First the restaurant: its old, beat up, 90% of the seats are ripped, the tables are in need of tender loving care, but that's ok. This is a neighborhood pizza restaurant. It's obvious that it's territorial and it's got the acceptance vibe. Then again, you're not here for the decoration, you're here for the "After the game, or long weekend" sit down feed your face session. So the Pizza: I know some people are going to hate me for saying this, but they are a straight up New York pizza recipe. There's no doubt they have the same style. Garlic butter on the crust, flat floppy dough, high moisture mozzarella cheese, and large thin sliced pepperoni mimic the NY pizza. It's good a filling. You can fold it and eat it, or you can let it slap you in the chin as you try to land it on your tongue. I find myself eating about three slices per large pizza. It's even better as a day old pizza. All in all, it's not the prettiest joint, but it's one of the tastiest in Bakersfield. read more

Have been going to this location for awhile,but unfortunately the pizza is very inconsistent!! Which is sad.the wait time is long I don't know if it is because they are that busy Or because the staff is back there screwing around playing grab Ass! Every time I have been in there the staff in back is laughing,cutting up using bad language,you can wait mins for someone to come up front to counter to wait on you.Travis that is usually on the counter is nice but seems like if he is working the quality of pizza is less then usually. Was in there mid Dec the owner was working that was a good night for pizza!! Owner should work more!! The quality is there and the customer service is really nice!! I have to agree with other patrons sometimes the pizza has likeNO sauce....Note to owner you have all the cameras,look in on your employees and make changes. Teach them how to make pizza! The pizza at the Cataldos on Roberts Ln can be described in one word: Delicious. It is a tad greaser than most pizza (and by a tad I mean a lot), but it is still oh so delicious! The service is fantastic and the employees are super friendly. It's a great place to take the family, or just shoot some pool with your buddies. I highly recommend it! read more

Zero stars would be accurate. Placed an order online and waited over 2 hours for my food. I had call twice to be told my food was on the way. Also, for the cherry on top I was hung up on the second time I had to call. At this time still waiting for my food. Pizza was terrible, tasted like it had been made and then sat under heating lamps for hours, crust was extremely tough, flavorless sauce, greasy and overcooked. read more

I've ordered take out a few times from here and pizzas are always fresh. However prices are high and variety of other menu items (besides pizza) isn't that great. Not many pastas to choose from...so I wouldn't really consider this an Italian restaurant. It's more of a pizza parlor- although I have never dined in. Orders have been ready on time about 75% of the time, customer service is a hit and miss at times, and portions are small. Not really worth what you pay for! read more

Regardless of whether I'm ordering to go or eating in the pizza and chicken and wedges are bomb and always Hot!! Along with a salad and the dine in experience is clean and has everything you need. I ordered 1 pizza and a salad 2 hours ago and still haven't gotten it. The driver didn't deliver my original order to the correct place although specific instructions were given. Will never order food from here again and will encourage my job to never order food from here again and we order food from them a lot! Will take my business elsewhere. Been ordering pizza here for years. Love the pizza! Every time I call for delivery I am told it will be anywhere from 90-120 minutes so I always end up picking it up. I would bet they would at least double their business if they added more drivers. That being said, the pizza is worth the drive read more

This review is based solely on my takeout experience. My food was fresh and very tasty; didn't take too long to be prepared which was awesome. The young lady who helped us at the register was very friendly and efficient. I had a draft beer while I waited for my food to be ready and the beer was nice and cold. Placed my first online order here and it said free 20" 2 topping pizza with purchase of $25 or more. So I spent over the $25 and my 20" pizza was not free. It was only $17 off instead of $27 off. The customer service was terrible. The manager got upset that his staff put tables together to accommodate our party of 12. His solution was to sit us on the seedy side with pool tables and beer drinking. Not acceptable with 6 kids. I tried to speak to the manager, no luck, I tried to speak to the owner, no luck. As our food was brought out the "Manager" continued to be rude. As the night went on he got better. My mother wanted to spend her birthday with her grandkids and this was the place she chose, and we all had to sit at different tables. We did not get to socialize over dinner. I drove 3 hours to take my mom to dinner and this was our experience. Terrible, avoid this place read more

I used to go here often for lunch. I liked their pizza and salads. I have stopped going to this location for lunch. The manager at lunch time is a hyper middle aged man that is often short with people. He seems to be overwhelmed when there are more than a few orders and is rude. Service is also too slow for a lunch hour. read more

If you want a gigantic pizza, this is your place. Not the best pizza in town but definitely within the top 5. My favorite is by far is the Manhattan (I think that's what i was). Stick with the smaller pizza's, the dough will actually be cooked. read more

Pizza was WAAAAYYYY over priced and was mediocre. Ordered 2 large and it cost over $42! They weren't very big either.

Three of us came in last night and ordered pasta. Two lasagna and one ravioli. They told us the oven was full and it would take 30 minutes. We received the lasagna's in 30 minutes but never got the raviolis. After an hour, they said it still wasn't ready. We told them to package it to go because the two lasagna's were finished. Finally they brought it out and we left. I think they just overlooked the ravioli's. Poor service. read more

Just recently moved close to a location for this place. Pretty decent pizza! But the antipasto salad with their house dressing was omfgsupercalifragilisticexpialidocious bomb in my mouth. We got Hawaiian pizza and it was the perfect sauce to cheese ratio. The pineapple was super fresh and the Canadian bacon made me sing O' Canadaaaaaa! I will probably go back again as it's close and tasty. The price was also awesome for the food that we got, but I used a coupon, so I do think they are a bit higher in price than a lot of other pizza places. read more

Recently discovered that they have an awesome take and bake option. Instead of paying $24 for a 16" specialty pizza, we paid $12.50! And they partially bake the pizza for you so all we did was stick it in the oven for another 10 minutes. Pretty awesome. read more

I only eat Cataldo's Pizza at the Roberts Lane location because it is the only one with a real brick oven. Their pizza crust is crunchy, garlicky, buttery and just yummy! The cheese is plenty and the toppings are flavorful. You can't go wrong with the lunch special about $6 for a giant slice and soda. The staff is ok, their appearance leaves a lot to be desired. The guy that delivered my pizza at work made my boss nervous. The interior could be cleaner and less seedier. read more

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and was so surprised. This place was a gem. Maybe it was because I had no expectations. The pizza was more of a New york style pizza and was fairly flavorful. They offer a ton of different sizes and even have one that is almost 3 feet in width. A gigantic 30 inch pizza and its not a special. Its a regular on the menu. They have several booths and individual tables as well as picnic style seating They have a seperate party room and a game room for the kidss Atmosphere was great and the beer was even better, Prices were average and we all enjoyed the experience. read more

Expect higher prices than the ones on yelp. I've seen bears more friendly than the cashier. The food is at best eatable and the portions are disappointing. The cheese ravioli was undercooked and tasted like frozen food from Walmart and the Sicilian sandwich was awful, subway ones tasted better than that. But there's bottomless drinks which is nice. And they charge you for eating at their restaurant and the wifi sucks. read more

They said it would be 45 minutes and the food arrived within 30 minutes, but I also live nearby. We ordered The Queens and The Brooklyn, and The Queens was my favorite. The potato wedges, hot chicken wings, and jalapeno poppers are also bomb. Very good service, very tasty food. read more
