Nothing special here. It is better than most national chains, but not great. This town is a bit of a pizza desert. This is not the oasis you are looking for. Large two topping was $30 and not really worth it. Lots of mozzarella, not too tasty pepperoni, and some mushrooms scattered on top. Ordered a combination pizza via DoorDash. We ordered from the Tony's Pizza on 130403 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA. Our Pizza arrived with burnt crust. My husband and I were livid and soooo disappointed. This was our dinner treat. We were tired, in pain and hungry. We're Seniors with slight health limitations. Therefore, at times delivery is a welcome connivence and we realize that delivery comes with added charges. Nevertheless, I called the Manger and I got the usual response; "Sorry About That!" "We can make you another pizza" "Excellent can you deliver the pizza?" They were not able to deliver another pizza after delivering a "Burnt" pizza! The Manager was not able to offer any accommodations after her restaurant knowingly sent a burnt pizza to a paying customer. Surely, the employee who put that pizza in the box knew it was burnt. Customer service in Bakersfield has perpetually become lousy. Business's do not train their employees well. When will business understand the common sense business practice; that if I paid extra to have food delivered, why in the world do I want to come in your place of business to pick up a remake of a pizza; that you knew was burnt! I already paid fees....now I'm being asked to be inconvienced further for your mistake! I must get dressed, get in my car, burn my gas to pick up another pizza your restaurant burnt! This manager had about enough common sense or intelligence that might fit into a thimble! I asked for her name she refused. This young Manager like so many today; lacked insight and common sense. Here comes the cliche; back in my day that would have NOT have been tolerated. Employees were trained properly. Employees in my day had more insight and understanding. Employees had common sense when it came to good customer service. This kind of BAD service of having food delivered happens too often. More training is needed. If Tony's pizza on Stockdale Avenue is not going to be held responsible for a burnt pizza my recommendation is don't use that location. I called Coffee Road location and the Manager at that location went over and beyond to help me locate the restaurant via Door Dash that delivered a burn pizza. He was kind and felt horribly about a customer receiving a burnt pizza. People stop tolerating bad service. If nothing is said nothing changes. I worked too hard for my money. Resturant employees need to be held accountable. Particularly wh service is horrible and customers are inconvienced after spending their hard earned money! read more

I was so excited to see that this Tony's location was opening! Much closer to where I live. I love Tony's Pizza! One of my favorites in town! I was surprised to see the first couple reviews on here were so poor. Maybe they were still figuring things out since they just opened recently. My experience was great! Disappointed to say the least. Let me start off by saying that we normally love Tony's pizza and we were excited for this location to open close to our neighborhood. Unfortunately, did not have a great experience. The order itself was a challenge for the girl on the phone. I ordered half/half pizza, combo and Chile verde. The whole reason we go to Tony's is the Chile verde. After I put my card in the reader to pay, the girl Informed me that they didn't have Chile verde so they just made it all combo!! I asked why they didn't call me before making the pizza since they had my number, she didn't get my number correct when I ordered. Seriously?? Called onto this Tony's Pizza tonight and ordered a Medium Tony's Combo. Picked up my pizza at the store and took it home. Opened it up and it was not a Tony's combo. It was a meat lovers pizza and it looked gross. Got in my car and went back to Tony's Pizza to get the correct pizza. Asked to speak to the manager. As I was talking to the manager, the girl who took my order chimed in and began arguing with me. I told her that I am paying $30.00 for a pizza I want to get what I ordered and not what you heard. Great pizza! We love Tony's and have for a long time. The crust is excellent the sauce is tangy with an excellent flavor. They do not skimp on the toppings. We order the combo and they pile the toppings on so high they fall off the slice as you eat. It is only a to go place but that is okay with us. We usually get our pizza to go anyway.
