All the teachers and staff were so patient and supportive with my daughter and even us as she started the school process. My daughter felt safe and started to engage in the activities. After a few months, she loved the teachers and even played with some of the kids. She still talks about the good memories from the school and she misses the teachers. Although 2 teachers were unchanged from the beginning until the end of June (best point), the only negative point was the rate at which new teachers were joining the class or moving to other classes. We thought this would be the same when we enrolled my youngest son at 2 years of age. At 3 it was determined he had a receptive and expressive speech delay. This was communicated to management and my sons teachers. We were very open and shared what we were doing to help him (twice a week speech sessions and trying to get him into an early education program through our school district). There was an issue with him leaving the class room during transition of half day kids. He was able to bypass the teachers, parents coming in and out, and made it to the front gate. Luckily a parent stopped him and alerted staff. To sum up a long story, management pretty much blamed my son for not understanding safety by not opening the gates - granted he is 3 years old. They warned us if there was another incident they would have to terminate his enrollment. 1. The class room baby gate was broken/loose and could easily be opened by any child 2. How was he able to make it to the front gate without the teachers noticing 3. Why would they blame a 3 year old for not understanding safety. They told us they would see to securing the classroom gate and/or replacing it. A few months went by and they made no improvements to the gate and another incident happened where he tried to escape from the gates. They pretty much terminated us on the spot. Let me remind you, he does have a receptive speech delay meaning he has difficulty understanding language. After reminding them they did not fix their gate, the very next day they installed a 2nd gate...kinda too late for that. I reported this incident to their licensing department and they were sited with lack of child supervision. I find it very sad and upsetting that Tanya took no blame in this and that her solution to ensuring my sons safety was to terminate his enrollment. However this turned out to be a blessing in disguise because he is now in a child care facility that actually thinks outside the box and the teachers are amazing, compassionate and really care for your child. Temple is good if you have a normal easy going child. However, if your child is a little more active, or has a learning disability this is not the best place.

It was recently sold and renamed to Sunny Hills Montessori Academy, but heart of the school has remained the same. There is a chicken coop and a garden on campus (where children are encouraged to explore caring for animal life and growing their own food), weekly Spanish learning, dress up days, summer camp, and more! The children enjoy vegetarian meals with an emphasis on healthy, whole fruits and vegetables. They are still outdoors most of the day, but the indoor classrooms are just as robust with a wide array of hands on activities. The teachers are not just standing around babysitting, but actively engaging each student in opportunities to learn and grow and sharpen their developing minds. From potty training, to handwashing, and encouraging self-reliance, this school is 100% dedicated to the whole human. With a diverse staff & student base, supportive parents, and a loving director keeping it all running smoothly, truly, it is worth checking out.

When I came to Big Sky Preschool it was owned and operated by different people and in the time I was there is was sold to the now owners. Prior to the sale Big Sky was a dream, as soon as the transition to new owners began things immediately started to change despite being promised they wouldn't. To start this school has slapped the name Montessori on their name but are not actually accredited. Second they lied to parents and withheld to let parents know about construction that was occurring on property while class was in session. Be sure to research the school as they have a a type B citation because of the way they chose to handle the upgrades to the space. Furthermore this school chose to terminate the care of my child because I was vocalizing my concerns and questions and the owners refused to ever meet with parents. Lastly, they terminated her care on a Monday upon arrival, I had no back up for work it was very traumatizing for us all. The owners sent an email at 1am to the "Director" Lucita, whom also is known to yell at students and be the least gentle if you ask me, whine then just printed the email out to me and handed it to me with my stuff. The email claim I made baseless claims about the school. Obviously not so baseless since they were cited for putting the kids at risk with the construction that took place there. If you are looking for a play based school that actually cares and isn't cold and clinical like this school Che k out You're Invited. They are amazing and took me in during this traumatic experience.

I want to share my experience because I had two completely different experiences with this school,…read moreand I think parents of toddlers should know what I experienced. First, I want to say that my daughter attended this school when she was four, and I had a very positive experience. The teachers were wonderful, communication was great, and I had no complaints. Ms. Beatrice was great, and Ms. Akayla was also a wonderful teacher who my daughter really liked. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different when I enrolled my two-year-old son. My son had just turned two and was still developing his speech, so I was especially concerned about whether his needs would be recognized. I expressed those concerns to Ms. Angie, the director. One of the things she told me was that Ms. Amaya was a mother herself, so she knew how to manage children and would be a good teacher. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that. Being a parent does not automatically mean someone has the training, qualifications, or experience necessary to care for a classroom full of toddlers. Parenting and professional childcare experience are two very different things. My son was only there from approximately mid-July to mid-August 2026, and unfortunately, I experienced several things that ultimately led me to move him to another school: 1. Staffing: There were approximately 12 two-year-olds with one teacher. As a parent, I found this concerning because toddlers constantly need assistance with things like diapering, eating, drinking, and comfort. 2. Extreme heat: On my son's first day, the children were outside when temperatures were around 100 degrees and there were multiple heat advisories. When I arrived, my son was outside crying and extremely upset. The teacher was in the shade while the children were in the sun. His metal water bottle had been sitting outside and was extremely hot, and it was still full. 3. Water: My son previously had a bottle that required him to push a button to open it. I taught him how to use it, but I'm not sure he consistently knew how to open it himself. I eventually purchased him a bottle with a straw that was always accessible and didn't require him to push a button or open anything. Once I did that, it became much easier for him to drink independently. This made me question whether his previous bottle was actually being opened for him or whether water was consistently being offered to the children, especially during extremely hot Inland Empire weather. 4. Lack of communication and supervision: My son came home one day with scratches on his forehead. I had not been notified of any incident, so I asked Ms. Angie what happened. I was told they didn't know. When I dropped my son off that Friday, I spoke directly with Ms. Amaya and told her that I had reached out to Ms. Angie about the situation. Her immediate response was, "What did Ms. Angie say?" rather than asking whether my son was okay or expressing concern about what had happened. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation. Instead, she told me that my son "touches the other kids." When I asked what she meant, she explained that he hugs them. I remember thinking, he is two years old and is interacting with other two-year-olds. She also made a comment that my son has a "smirk" and that it affects the other children. I found that very strange because these are two-year-olds who are still learning how to interact, communicate, and socialize. That conversation was one of the moments when I realized that simply being a mother does not necessarily mean someone has the experience or qualifications needed to care for a classroom full of toddlers. Ms. Angie may have been correct that Ms. Amaya is a mother, but being a mother and being an experienced childcare professional are two very different things. 5. Cellphone use: I also frequently saw Ms. Amaya on her cellphone when I entered the classroom. Initially, I didn't think much of it, but after experiencing the other issues, it became concerning to me because I questioned how much attention was being given to the children. Fortunately, I ended up moving my son to a different school, and I am grateful I got to experience the difference firsthand. At his new school, there were two teachers in the morning, another staff member came in around noon, and there were consistently at least two adults available with the children. The difference in the level of attention and care was significant. If you are considering this school for your two-year-old, I strongly encourage you to ask how many children are in the classroom, how many adults are present throughout the day, how water and basic needs are handled, and how injuries or incidents are communicated to parents. A clean and attractive campus is great, but what matters most is how your child is cared for when you aren't there. I am sharing my experience because I wish I had known these things before enrolling my son.

Sometimes she'll start singing little songs and rhymes she learned at school, and hearing them unlocks a sense of nostalgia for me--reminding me of the same kinds of school songs I had long forgotten. Recently at church, they asked her to sign her name on her drawing, and to our surprise she confidently wrote the first two letters of her name. Moments like that show me that the learning happening in her classroom is deep and genuine. It's not just memorization--it's understanding, confidence, and curiosity beginning to grow in such a beautiful way. I'm incredibly grateful to have found a place that not only teaches but truly cares.
