    Cheese curds
    Kris L.

First off we visited the new Monroe location and they were having a "soft opening". It was busy most of the day and by the time we stepped in we were able to sit at the bar as we walked in. The vibe was 90's grungish industrial theme. They had some clever names on their products and they were some cool mixtures. If you want to try something you have not tried they will provide it. We tried the cheese curds as a starter and they were decent but the rosemary was strong in the herb mix, it's also the same herb mic that comes on the fries. We also had the burger with the jalapeños and pork and it was delicious. A couple beverages and the bill was right along with everything else.

Read the reviews about how great the food was and decided to come here and try it for lunch. It did not disappoint! The wings were great as were the potato salad. I also had the pineapple upside down cake which was kinda small but tasty. My only complaint is the price seems a bit high. But still very good. Service was great too. Parking is a little limited but that's pretty standard for the area.

Servers are nice. Disappointed with queso and chips. Fish batter was thick and not fully cooked and greasy. But herb fries and jalapeño tartar sauce was a nice touch.

Food was really good. Got the filthy fries that tasted great! Came out a little cold but did not change it from tasting good. Service was super friendly and welcoming. Great environment to grab with friends.

Stopped in for lunch last week and I have to say their chipotle bbq wings are absolutely amazing! Service was fast and the restaurant was covered in cool stickers and bottles of alcohol. My daughter loved the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The bacon on the BLT was very thick and delicious. The buttermilk pie was creamy and delicious.

Front of the restaurant great outside seating.

I had eaten at this location about a year ago when I was up in Athens for work. I was in the area and came back today for lunch. It was just as good as I remember. The service is outstanding (thanks Sarah) and all the food is outstanding. Great little local place with a cool vibe. Today I have the salad and it really hit the spot.

Cuban sandwich was great! I had already eaten half prior to the photo, but it was delicious! Love the herbed fries too! Very cool vibe inside, and service was great! I bit pricey, but still very good overall experience and recommend a visit here!

Filty fries with pork. Soooo good!

I'm a little late in writing my review. My husband and I came here for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated right away. Our server was a bit quirky, but she was great with being attentive. The food came out quick and was delicious. I ordered the filthy fries with pork. Wow! Sooo good and flavorful. I ordered a margarita and it "meh." They have mainly craft beer and standard cocktails. The only specialty cocktails were fall flavors, which isn't my preference. Overall, I would come back to dine in again.

House burger wife says it's really good !

Visiting from out of state. Randomly chose this place on held. Great beer selection for flights. The wife inhaled her house burger before I could get halfway through my Ruben. Both were very satisfying. I would come back.

Sounds strange but the crispy friend cheese was unique and with bacon jam.....Home run. Would come back just for that. Mr. Egon was good, but didn't compare to Celine. Handcut fries were plentiful but thought were overly seasoned. Dipping sauce was .75 extra. We shared the generous slice of whipped peanut butter pie, drizzled with fudge. Would have preferred whipped cream. My preference. Drinks were not strong. Orders were served with that sweet southern hospitality. Highly recommend reservations for weekend. It was an old-school street meter, thankfully it accepted credit cards. We took a short walk across the street and noticed a few outdoor tables in front, before heading inside. We entered and saw the sign instructing to seat yourself. We sat at a high top table pretty centrally located. The whole interior felt like we were transported to a British pub. Our server quickly came over with menus and waters, giving us a few minutes to review the options. We needed some time to review the menu. The beer list was massive; drafts as well as cans and bottles spread across multiple pages. While they don't offer traditional beer flights, they do serve smaller 11 ounce pours. Wifey ordered a couple of those: a Harp Premium Lager and a Bavak Super Wit from the draft list. I went with a bottled Pilsner Urquell and later tried an 11 ounce taster of "Escape Button," an IPA from local Athens brewery, Athentic. We enjoyed all of our choices. The food menu featured classic pub options, but also a few that you wouldn't expect like a Curry Chicken Bowl that I almost ordered but instead I went with the Turkey Club sandwich with no tomatoes and a side salad. Wifey ordered Chicken tenders with french fries. The food took a little longer than expected to come out and when it arrived my sandwich still came out with tomatoes. I did not make a big deal about it and picked them out. My sandwich and salad were actually very good and Wifey said her meal was also very good. While hanging out in the dining room we noticed some original artwork near the bar that we found out was to depict the history of wine. There's also an upstairs area that was blocked off during our visit, and a sign mentioned that live music starts at 10 PM. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch time visit to The Globe and would definitely return the next time we are in town.

Tonight we made our way to The Social Goat in Covington, Georgia. Before we even get to the food,…read morethis is the kind of restaurant that has a personality all its own. Goat-themed artwork is scattered throughout the restaurant, including some fun paintings that immediately caught our attention. The atmosphere feels more like a cozy tavern than a traditional taco restaurant, with dark wood, booths, and a comfortable setting that invites you to settle in and stay awhile. One interesting piece of local history is the building itself. We learned that in 1906, this building housed an antique market. Think about that for a moment. If someone was selling antiques here in 1906, some of those "antiques" might have been from the 1800s. More than a century later, the building is still serving visitors, although these days the focus is tacos rather than antiques. Covington itself is worth mentioning. The city has become known as Georgia's Hollywood of the South, with more than 100 movies and television productions filmed here over the years. Fans of The Vampire Diaries and Sweet Magnolias will recognize many locations around town. If you're visiting the area, there is plenty to see before or after dinner. Our server for the evening was Jordan, who provided friendly service throughout the meal. The menu features eleven different taco varieties, which immediately created a dilemma. Narrowing the choices down to just three was not easy. We ultimately chose the Fried Fish Taco, the Philly Taco, and the Sesame Ribeye Taco. The tacos are available as a trio, allowing you to sample three different varieties on one platter. The meal also came with chips, salsa, and queso, making it easy to share and compare flavors. Let's start with the Fried Fish Taco because it ended up being my favorite of the three. The fish itself had excellent flavor and was cooked just right. The taco was topped with a sauce that brought a unique flavor to the experience, and the crunchy slaw added texture that worked beautifully with the fish. Every component contributed something to the overall bite. This was the taco that surprised me the most and ultimately earned the top spot in my personal ranking. The Philly Taco finished a very close second. If you're a fan of Philly cheesesteaks, you'll immediately understand the appeal. Loaded with shaved ribeye, peppers, onions, and cheese, it delivered exactly the flavors I was hoping for. It was rich, satisfying, and packed with flavor. Sometimes simple combinations work for a reason, and this taco proved that point. The Sesame Ribeye Taco was the most unique of the three. The sesame-soy flavor was bold and immediately noticeable. I enjoyed the flavor profile and appreciated that it took the taco in a different direction than what I typically experience. Rather than trying to imitate a traditional taco, it offered something distinct and memorable. Anyone looking for a creative twist on a taco will likely find this one especially interesting. One thing I appreciated about the trio platter was the opportunity to compare very different flavor profiles side by side. The Fried Fish Taco offered a balance of fish, sauce, and crunch. The Philly Taco delivered familiar comfort-food flavors. The Sesame Ribeye Taco brought a bold and unique flavor profile to the table. Each taco had its own personality, which made the comparison part of the fun. The chips were crisp, the salsa was fresh, and the queso provided a nice complement to the tacos. Combined with the trio platter, it was more than enough food for a satisfying meal. The Social Goat manages to be more than just a taco stop. Between the historic building, the goat-themed decor, the welcoming tavern atmosphere, and a menu filled with creative options, it offers an experience that stands out from the typical restaurant visit. If we return, and there is a good chance we will, there are still eight taco varieties left for us to investigate. The Social Goat Tavern 1115 Church Street Covington, GA 30014

Cheese dip was also excellent but we (and the table next to us) had to ask for more chips. Not portioned terribly well. Beer options were very slim (2 on tap from what it gathered).
