Was craving ribs upon arrival and so I came here to give it a go. I ordered for take out so I can eat in the room. The waiter said to give it 10 minutes and offered me a seat by the bar as I waited. I asked to pay ahead and with cash. The meal is $25 but somehow came up to be $31.75. Apparently, they automatically charged me a service fee and didn't give back exact change. I am not happy about this at all. So disappointed Ate my ribs in the room. It was 6 small pieces. They were not even full size. Well, the sizes I'm used to getting. The flavor was old and gamey. The fries and coleslaw were decent. I do not recommend this place. They will keep the change and still charge you a service fee without any communication. read more

We were so pleased by our food and service here. Our stay at the hotel was meh, the rooms were clean and nice but it was soooo noisy due to no soundproofing in the rooms, and with only an overnight stay with an early flight in the morning we got absolutely no sleep. The restaurant however was a pleasant surprise. We didn't expect it with it being the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed sitting outside and sunset and watching the planes land. We wouldn't come here if we weren't staying at the hotel, but we were happy we did. We were originally going to find a restaurant in town, but with a long overnight layover and just wanting to get to bed at a decent hour we decided not to venture out. Happy hour menu was great and the chicharrones with guac were so good. It was like crispy pork belly with the guac. YUM! Carbonara was just okay, but the flatbread pizza was tasty and we loved our Caesar salad. Hit the spot for a quick dinner for our long overnight layover! read more

In fairness... we didn't come here looking for a full meal, just wanted to kill a little time. Views of the airport were supposed to be cool, unfortunately it had been raining, and apparently their outdoor seating is not completely covered, so it was closed. My wife and I opted for Caesar salads, she had a cocktail. Then we finished it off with a piece of tiramisu to go. Salads were good, I'm picky about my Caesar dressing and it passed with flying colors. Service was above average but not great. But surprise! The check was over $100 for two salads, one drink and dessert? Damn. Second surprise, the Tiramisu slice was so thin they may have cut it with a cheese slicer (ok, maybe an exaggeration, but for the price it was very small... too small) and when we got to eating those three bites, it wasn't good. Would loved to have seen the view. Ambience was fun. Servers were nice. I guess don't go there if it's been raining. Otherwise, the bang for the buck was underwhelming. read more

After a long day of driving and needing to catch a flight early in the morning, I was looking for a quick bite! This place did not disappoint! It is located inside of the Wyndham hotel on the 6th floor. The decor was cool! Modern and fit the airplane theme. I was greeted right away and asked where I wanted to sit. The bartender and waitress were very friendly and I truly felt like I was being taken care of from start to finish! The food: the nonalcoholic mojito was delish and very refreshing! I love that it still looked so pretty even without the alcohol! The chicken wings were tender but I didn't really care to the Buffalo sauce or the ranch. The ranch was a bit too sweet for my liking. The salad was large, had great flavor and wasn't soggy! I would recommend this to any traveler that just doesn't want to leave the hotel. I would also recommend this to anyone staying close by! The restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Miami Springs, Florida. When I walked in the hotel, it gave me a retro feel even through it's a modern hotel. As you get off the elevator you take a right and then another right, now at the end of the hall is the restaurant. A guy dressed in a uniform met us at the door and welcomed us. The ambiance was laid back. There wasn't too many people around so lunch was not rushed. The restaurant is in front of the Miami Airport so the views were so amazing. We ordered off of the Miami spice menu but also looked at the regular. Prices are not expensive for Miami. Miami Spice came with an hour of unlimited Mimosas. My husband and I ordered the same appetizer - the Tapas Platter. It came with two piece of artisan bread, one covered with avocado mousse with roasted mushrooms and the other was chickpea hummus with sautéed shrimps. Both were delicious! The entrées were the pilot omelette with bacon and bagel with avocado/sesame seeds and the huevos ranchero. The huevos is a bit spicy. Again the food was delicious! We finished with the key lime pie and the chocolate indulgence pie. Oh so good! It was a lot of food and we couldn't finish it all. The service was great. We were pleasantly surprised during our visit here last week. We made a reservation because we were a party of 7, but there was plenty of seating available. We were seated immediately upon arrival inside and outside. Most of us ordered wine, but we also had a few order the espresso martini which was delicious. The food was very good and the prices are very reasonable. We had croquettes, flatbreads, shrimp, calamari, and the sliders. Everything was fresh and made to order. The service was excellent. Johan our server was excellent. We were very impressed. The restaurant is on the 6th floor of the hotel and there's ample parking next to the hotel. The parking is well lit and free. The restaurant has a bar and on Saturday night there were quite a few people seated enjoying drinks. The restaurant is decorated with an aviation theme and the waiters wear pilot outfits. I made reservations. Upon arrival the place was packed. Only 3 servers. The captain for lack of a better term, finally seated us. We waited 15 minutes for water. we felt invisible. Our community service club had our holiday party here in December of last year and Pilot House was a hit! I ordered the blackened salmon filet entree and paired it with a delicious rosé wine. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the asparagus and butternut squash mash were seasoned well. It was not too loud inside and they had some cute booths that look like the inside of an airplane which was adorable. This is a nice place with a great view of the airport. It's very clean throughout and the decor is modern and pleasing. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's an outdoor roof top seating area, perfect for enjoying cocktails and snacks/appetizers. However, I feel the overall service and experience of the staff still needs a bit more refinement. We've been there a few times and we had an issue with our order once, we had another issue with the bill, and we've also had an issue with table reservation; all were solved to our satisfaction, but they were avoidable inconveniences. The food selection is good, well prepared, and flavorful. Recently, some former co-workers & I had wanted to get together for Happy Hour. The day we had selected fell on the day of their company retreat so we decided to choose a spot near them. I happened to have grown up in Springs & knew there weren't many spots to get cocktails but after asking around, Pilot House came up and we decided to give it a try. Located on the 6th floor of the Wyndham Hotel on 36th Street and directly across Miami International Airports runway, this lil gem was sooooo cute! The interior is made to look like the inside of an airplane and the waitstaff is all dressed up in Pilot/Airline employee uniforms. Such a great touch! A bit retro and very (unexpectedly) chic for a chain hotel restaurant. On this particular day, the rain was coming & going so we stayed inside for the most part but so cool being able to watch planes take-off & land while sipping on cocktails. Our waiter, Yunior, was very sweet and reminded us that HH lasted until 7 so we hurriedly got our order in. I had a Spicy Margarita that was very good & everyone else enjoyed their drinks too. For bites, we ordered Beef Nachos Nachos (Seasoned Beef, Homemade Pico de Gallo & Melted cheese, optional Jalapeños) & Spinach Dip off the HH menu but since I don't eat beef, I also ordered Gambas Al Ajillo (Sauteed Shrimps in Garlic, Red Pepper, Brandy, served with House Crostini) and Chicken Fingers & French Fries off the Kid's Menu (I was starving!) Everything was good & although the restaurant ended up CRAZY packed (like s huge line waiting to get in! so weird!) & our waiter was obviously spread thin, he remained attentive & always with a smile. Food was good. Service so so. But expensive. And after we paid we realized that the bill was a bit higher than it should have been. I gave an 18 percent tip. But they also charged me an 18% "service charge". Going back - in tiny 6pt text on the menu they do indeed mention that. But it's so small that they don't want you to notice. This practice is tantamount to false advertising and should be outright illegal. I complain about the 3% we see at home. But 18%?? Wtf. And tbh it pisses me off that I paid a tip based on that too. So double whammy. I definitely would have left a smaller tip had I seen that. Places like this are just trying to fleece travelers on their way through. Avoid. There is a Subway next door - probably a better bet unless you have money to burn. read more

A little torn. The location is really pretty. Food was pretty good but a little overcooked. What was awful was looking at the pile of dirty glassware that literally lined the end of the bar and tables covered in food from guests who had left that remained the entire time we ate our meal at the bar because no tables were available. The Pilot House is inside the Wyndham Gardens overlooking scenic Miami airport. There's an inside and outside seating area - the outside does fill up with smokers though. The interior has the Wyndham blue mixed with an airport decor. The food is delicious, definitely worth a dinner if you're staying in the hotel. They are surprisingly fancy for an airport restaurant, down the hall from the gym. Our waiter Ernesto was very attentive and easily handled multiple tables at once. They do automatically add 18% tip on the bill regardless of the size of your party, so watch your totals. read more

I checked into the hotel and was really hungry but it was storming, so I went to the hotel restaurant- the Pilot House. My expectations were low as I couldn't find any reviews of the place, so it must be new. The decor is modern but comfortable with touches of teal and cream. The staff was very friendly. I ordered an El Fresco cocktail with gin, st Germaine, cucumber and lime. It was attractively presented with a cucumber slice and skewered cucumber peal - tart and refreshing. I ordered the onion soup which was a light cream version topped with fried shallots and green onion. The soup was mild but flavorful. I enjoyed it. I ordered next the beef carpaccio and Venezuelan cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were mozzarella wrapped in a pastry and baked until crisp with a cilantro aioli. Pretty good. But the star was definitely the carpaccio. Yes, I was wondering if I'd made a big mistake in ordering raw meat at a hotel restaurant. However, it was excellent, topped with arugula, shaved and shredded parmesan, a truffle aioli, capers and a fig reduction. I paired with a glass of Pinot noir and loved it! Light but substantial, savory, clean and full of flavor and texture. My overall experience far exceeded my expectations and I'd definitely go back. read more

We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Miami International Airport hotel on a layover from our stay at Sandals in Antigua. We ate at The Pilot House restaurant and it was fantastic. Last night we had The short rib soup, empanadas and sliders and they we all fantastic. They also had Yuengling Beer which we love. Today before heading back for our flight home we had lunch at The Pilot House. We had the empanadas again and the fish tacos and picanha steak lunch special. The empanadas are fantastic. The taco were delicious and picanha was amazing, cooked and seasoned perfect and French fires which were some of the best fries we've had. We had Key Lime Pie for desert which was also amazing. We had to have another Yuengling Beer. The service was also amazing. They were attentive and knew the menu being able to make great accurate recommendations. We stayed here on our layover from Antigua to Los Angeles. We were hungry so we came here. My husband and I split everything. Start with our free drink....My favorite beer yuengling I cannot get this on the West Coast. I was so excited to get to have it. First we ordered the short rib soup. Absolutely delicious, like others have said it is fairly large and almost a compete meal. Next came the empanadas. Probably some of the best ones I've had. Simply scrumptious! Then the sliders. Ohhhhhh yummmmm. They were juicy and tasty and the BEST fries. Forgot to take pictures. We may go back tomorrow before heading to the airport to go home. If we do I will post photos.
