A+ physical therapy. I've had back and hip pain for about a decade. I've seen doctors, other PTs, etc. with very little success. The therapists at Centre (particularly Riley and Shannon) really took the time to do a full assessment and come up with a treatment plan that started giving me relief immediately. The combo of dry needling and retraining my muscles to work the right way again have set me on the path to comfortable movement again. They have done a nice job so that the therapist is near the Patient. The service from setting up appointments to working with a physical therapist has been extremely positive. I highly, highly recommend Centre Physical Therapy for anyone seeking treatment. In April, I developed forearm/tricep tendinitis from playing my instrument, the Chapman Stick. Due to the acute circumstances of the pandemic, this injury worsened, as it was my dominant hand and went untreated until late May. After a virtual visit with my doctor at Rush, she referred me directly to Centre, and I'm so, so grateful she did. Emily Haglage, Caty Engel Stegemann, and the entire team at CPT went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, provide the safest possible environment, and ensure a proper course of care. I had reservations about going anywhere during the pandemic, but Centre takes all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of their clients - masks are required, everything is constantly wiped down, temperature checks are administered at the door. They are truly a community place - comprised of people who care about the village and the clients they serve. In late May, I could barely bend my right arm. Just 6 weeks later, I am mostly recovered, and able to play my Chapman Stick again! Emily even asked me to bring the instrument in, and despite never having seen it before, made fantastic suggestions on how to better use my right arm properly to adjust my playing style, in order to mitigate any similar injury in the future. I'm already seeing noticeable improvement in how my arm responds to this new technique. She truly is a wonderful physical therapist and I was truly lucky to have her. Clare, the administrative coordinator, was also able to work with my insurance, and keep me informed as to how it was interfacing with my care, which was truly complex. I really appreciate all the help she gave me along the way. I hope I never need Physical Therapy again, but I know that Centre Physical Therapy team will be there for me, and I know they'll give me the best care possible if I ever need them again. I love Centre! I actually looked forward to going to physical therapy because everyone there is great to be around. They provide excellent, attentive and thorough service. Each PT only ever had two patients they were working with and often I was their only patient during my appointments. I also appreciated working directly with the PT as opposed to an assistant, which I've experienced in the past. I felt better after just one visit. I have been a serious bicyclist for 65 of my 70 yrs but started having issues with my heel catching on the mixte down tube leaning to frequent falls and feared that I would have to give up bicycling---I bicycle to obviate the need for driving and as my main means of getting exercise. Luckily during one of these falls I injured my foot and my podiatrist sent me to Emily for balance and core strength training. Emily did a comprehensive biomechanics assessment and the creation of a PT treatment plan of core and lower limb strengthening, Flexibility training, and improvement of lower extremity muscle coordination as well as intervening with my frequent lower limb and bottom of foot muscle spasms. Emily did not look for the of my problem but rather the angry zebra. Today I have less overall pain and feel secure on my bicycle. I love this place. The atmosphere is genuine. Everyone knows your name and greets you by name, a local gem for PT. I went here post surgery to repair a torn meniscus. My therapist, Irish, took the time to really understand my pre surgery issues and surgery. He developed a plan for my PT and talked me thru each exercise and what it was doing and why it was important. I feel confident that my recovery was not a sprint, but a marathon and now that I'm done, I pay attention to continuing to build the muscles to ensure I don't have a reoccurrence. I have been telling anyone who will listen to come to Centre for physical therapy. I saw Emily after I injured my knee during the last days of my pregnancy. After 8 sessions with her postpartum, my knee is almost 100% better. I was hesitant to go to physical therapy, because I have an infant; however, Emily actually suggested that I bring my daughter, rather than try to arrange for care or schedule around my husband being home to care for her. Emily was so understanding, personable, and helpful. She actually cared for my daughter several times during our sessions (bouncing her, consoling her, feeding her, burping her, etc.), so that I could focus on getting stronger. How awesome is that!?!? It's obvious how much Emily loves her career. She pushed me just the right amount each session to make sure I was challenging myself without overexerting myself.
