Someone recommended Balanced Flow to me for physical therapy and my experience there was unproductive and disappointing. I admit to being remiss in not checking out staff credentials ahead of time. My referral order was for PT, so I assumed the staff might have informed me that no one I would be working with had an advanced degree in that area. I'm sure the staff is very well qualified for personal training, but I would not recommend this place for PT. My care was mainly directed by a former nurse practitioner/firefighter/EMT. After showing me an exercise, I was off-loaded to an admin person with no credentials at all in PT. The supervisor, who spent about 5 minutes with me per session, actually trained in chiropractic care and acupuncture. After 3 sessions, I did not feel I was receiving the care I needed. I also felt very out of place and uncomfortable in addition to not making any progress. I cancelled the rest of my appointments and started with an organization where each therapist has a doctorate in physical therapy. That person worked with me one-on-one for the full session. I immediately began to make real progress and benefitted enormously from the care I received. In summary I'd say before starting anywhere, check the qualifications of staff members and make sure they align with your needs. For me the only good part of this experience was being greeted each time by Adrean. He is an extraordinary customer service person and a kind, warm, and welcoming one. He was extremely efficient and the sole reason I gave Balanced Flow a two-star rating instead of one. read more

I lost my beloved, 17-year-old, soul cat, and in spite of his age, his passing was totally unexpected and shocking. I didn't know what to do or who to call--only that I felt like this massive ball of agony that everyone could see, I was in dire need of *something*, even if relief wasn't really possible. I sent an email, explaining what had happened, and asking to come in that day, for what, I wasn't sure. I just knew I needed help, and wasn't sure where else to turn. They fit me in for a wellness visit, no questions asked, and when I arrived, greeted me with so much love and warmth and compassion. You can't measure how great this place is!! I was referred to Balanced Flow Wellness due to a herniated disc in my neck. I couldn't get out of bed, walk or stand without extreme pain. All of my doctors were recommending surgery and pain pills to cope. I am 34 and very against having such a surgery at this age. I was very skeptical at first, especially when I received the treatment plan but was reassured by both Dr's that they would be able to fix my injury without surgery and pills. After a few sessions there was no improvement but was reassured kept at it. Both Dr's Hertsberg and Lee recommended Dextrose Polotherapy. Lauralea (Nurse Practitioner) took the time to explain what it was but also sent me information so I could understand better. I did two sessions and a couple of months later I was feeling great! NO surgery, NO pain pills and best of all, NO pain. I would HIGHLY recommend letting them work their magic! They are great at what they do and their bedside manner is impeccable. They take the time to explain how the injury is effecting you, the course of treatment and don't pressure you at all. They go above and beyond in your recovery. I honestly don't know where to start. I have had chronic low back pain/hip/sciatic issues for about ten years, of course have been to numerous doctors and the like with no real relief. Within a few weeks of coming here I was able to sleep through the night for the first time in a long time and little pieces here and there started changing. On top of the actual physical relief, mentally and emotionally they are the best support. I believe them when they tell me that they will help me get better because I know that they genuinely care. I'll start with the good: my interaction with one of the therapists there, was extremely helpful. Conor was very thorough in explaining their services and what is offered there. After I received my first treatment I felt so much better. I worked with Conor and we did a Targeted Fascial Release session followed by some cupping. I learned more about their practice and how they treat patients. Seems like a really great concept. The cons: I feel their website is a little confusing in explaining what is covered by insurance and what isn't. I went in thinking certain things were covered and they were not. I suffered for years with painful rotator cuff tendinitis in both shoulders, including weakness, tightness and pain afflicting both shoulders. I cannot say how grateful I am to Dr Lee and Dr Malinowska. I had arthroscopic surgery about 14 years ago to mop out a badly torn meniscus. Since then, I've experienced nearly daily pain. Dr. Hertsberg is a miracle worker! I have been suffering with peroneal tendonitis to the point where I wasn't able to walk without a limp. I work as a server and am a runner so the the use of my ankle is very important to me. I came to Dr. Hertsberg broken and limping and within in a few visits that included massage and acupuncture she fixed me to the point where I am back running again and working without a brace on my ankle! She expertly talked me through what was going on in my ankle as to where the tendon connected and which muscles where affected as well and instructed me on exercises that I could do to help strengthen my ankle to aide in a faster recovery. I am an avid yoga and handstand practitioner and injured my wrist back in January. I was afraid of what a doctor would say and avoided going until it kept getting worse and worse. I finally gave in and went to Balanced Flow Wellness in April. Dr. Lee was cognizant of my desire to maintain as much of my same level of activity throughout the healing process and worked with me on ways I could modify my yoga practice while still allowing my wrist to heal. After about three weeks time of office visits and home wrist exercises assigned by Dr. Lee, my wrist feels great. During that time I took many of of Dr. Hertsberg's yoga classes and she was able to work with me on modifications tailored specifically to her classes because she was familiar with my wrist injury.
