I made the mistake of choosing this salon to do the makeup and hair for my wedding this past week. I came in the happiest of brides skipping around having the best time and left the most stressed I've ever been, a feeling that continued throughout the day bc the salon finished hair and makeup 2 HOURS after we had agreed everyone needed to be ready by, which meant that I didn't get the photos I wanted with my bridesmaids or my mom before the ceremony bc, as any bride knows, your wedding day is unfortunately very scheduled. I could go on forever about how unprofessional this salon is but I will just list the reasons to make it easier for everyone. 1. We agreed that everyone would be done by 12:30pm we weren't done until 2pm. Which apparently someone from the salon told my mom that with weddings you need to expect to be done 2 hours after you're supposed to be done. That's ridiculous, as a professional salon if you think the service you are providing is going to take longer than you are quoting you should say that especially on a wedding day when time is of the essence. I asked MULTIPLE times if we could get everyone done by 12:30 and they assured me we could. Also I had given a detailed list of who was getting what done, hair types etc so they were given every piece of information they needed to figure out how long it would take to perform. 2. The salon said we would have the salon to ourselves, there were about 6 other apts which is one reason we were delayed bc one of the hair stylists kept taking other clients instead of doing the bridesmaids hair. 3. We had a contract and agreed upon a price ($55 for airbrush makeup and $65 for updos) they instead charged us ($75 for makeup and $75 for updos) a price we NEVER agreed upon but had to pay on the day of the wedding bc we had no other choice. The salon said on the day of the wedding that the prices they gave us IN OUR CONTRACT were just a starting point. This was never once mentioned to my sister or I and is not listed on our contract anywhere. 4. They charged my sister $269 worth of extra stuff like massages, which we never asked for and never received. Luckily my sister got this reimbursed days after but was stressed on the day of because of it... Overall I was so incredibly stressed on my wedding day, a day that I have been looking forward to my whole life, because of the inefficiency and unprofessionalism of this salon. I didn't get to enjoy my cocktail hour or get any of the photos with my family bc I had to spend my cocktail hour taking photos with my bridesmaids bc we didn't get them before the ceremony as planned bc the salon finished 2 hours later than agreed upon. I think that the hair stylist and makeup artist are sweethearts and I really enjoyed working with them and I think they did a very good job on my hair and makeup but I do not recommend this salon at all for your wedding day bc of the way it is run. My wedding day was very joyous bc I married the man of my dreams but I spent half the day very very stressed bc of this salon, you don't want that on your wedding day so steer clear of this salon for such an important day. read more

i have had an extremely stressful few months, culminating with the death of my wonderful Dad. As a surprise gift my husband arranged for me to go to Cathryn Jamieson Salon for some treatments to help me relax. It is almost impossible for me to relax, even under the best of circumstances. The last thing I wanted was to go to an unfamiliar place and to be around a bunch of talkative people, so I argued that I did not want to go. Boy, am I glad he did not take "no" for an answer! My manicure and pedicure was done by Mavi Singh, who was not only a perfectionist with his work, but who was sensitive to my need for calm and quiet. He was patient with my requests and took his time with me. Next I had a warm oil massage and shirodara by Ramona Bessinger. Normally after a massage I have difficulty getting off the massage table, as my back does not tolerate being on my back or stomach for any length of time. In addition, I am usually quite tired. Not so with these treatments! I was able to easily get up from the massage table and I felt rejuvenated. And, this was after TWO hours on the massage table!
