I've been drinking coffee for most of my life. I recently went to Cathy's Coffee because it was close and I had a hankerin' for some caffeine. Let me tell y'all, I was SHOOKETH with how insanely good this was. I'm not trying to be over dramatic here, but that was hands down THE BEST cup of coffee I had ever had. I had this placed bookmarked for quite some time! It closes fairly early, which made it difficult for me to get to, since it's out of the way. I was finally able to stop here one AM before work! The shop in a strip mall with ample parking. It opens at 6 AM during the week. When I got there, there was only one person. I was greeted right away by a very friendly lady. The shoo was neat, clean, and comfortable on a very chilly morning. They had many unique drink to choose from. I got the tiramisu latte medium (2 shots of espresso) with an extra shot & almond milk. I also got a cherry danish. I was very impressed with both. The bathrooms were very clean. I really liked this place and will come back anytime I am around! read more

Super Friendly staff, really cool "market" on Saturday but iced-coffee was just okay. It tasted like regular coffee, brewed as regular hot coffee, and put in the fridge. If you're into cold brew then you'll notice the difference. read more

Living in Indian Trail it's not easy to find a real coffee shop. Dunks isn't coffee and Starbucks is over rated. Cathy's gives you fresh brewed coffee with all the variety to choose from. Not to mention the bake goods are always on point and very moist. In this picture is my all time favorite Salted Carmel cold brew. I've had this placed bookmarked for a while and finally made it out to Indian trail today and decided to stop in. The owner, Cathy, was there serving up coffee, lattes and pastries today. Everyone was really nice and helpful. I decided to get a white chocolate mocha cooler and it was very good. Most independent coffee shops today don't serve up blended coffee so I always order one if it's on the menu. It was very good. I also ordered a blueberry muffin and it was delicious- soft and full of blueberries. Their pastries are homemade. Next time I'm going to try the cheese danish! Go here if you live in the area or are passing through. Definitely worth the short drive from Matthews. read more

I decided to look up different coffee shops because I'm tired of Starbucks and so I decided to try it here and from the moment I walked in, I felt judged. I had my two littles with me and this was one coffee shop that popped up when I searched kid friendly. And I wanted to stay and enjoy our muffin but wasn't comfortable so packed up and left. The coffee I got as well wasn't the greatest and I'm honestly not going to finish it after two sips either for the price I paid.. Talked with the owner, who is the only barista/employee I can gather about her reason for opening the shop and it's very appealing. She is local (lives 3 miles away) and uses coffee beans from a local NoDa coffee roaster, and orders pastries from a local pastry. If you haven't visited this cozy coffee shop in Indian Trail, you're missing out! The coffee, and the fancy coffee is clearly made with love. If you choose to stay in this quaint little coffee house and drink your coffee and enjoy your pastry, Cathy gives you your coffee in a mug and your pastry on a beautiful plate, which I think is a great touch (because coffee taste better in mugs than in paper cups in my opinion). If you haven't been here because there's not a "drive-thru", well let me tell you Cathy gets your coffee to you faster than sitting in a drive thru waiting for your coffee to be made. As for the prices compared to the coffee place down the street, I can get a fancy coffee for a bit less at Cathy's and the drip coffee doesn't have that burnt taste (again in my opinion) that the other place has. If you have time to sit your coffee is served in a ceramic mug as if you're sitting in the comfort of your own living room... (the comfy couch helps with that feel to)! The wifi is excellent if you're looking to get some work done and fresh baked goods are brought in from local sources. What a find!! Such a pleasant place to go for coffee and or sweets. Cathy's own blend of coffee is as good as Panera for sure.. and that says a lot. Yes... better than Starbucks in my opinion. Her years of experience with another great chain shows through. Nice to be offered a real cup when having your coffee in the shop. Fresh ground Espressos and Capos are also excellent.
