She helped me communicate with the new family to smooth out the stress of transition and coordinated medical information sharing. She then talked through the process with the new family to assist them in helping the fluffy princess adjust peacefully. Wonderful experience adopting a kitten (Iris) for my grandma. They came out had the interview after talking on the phone with me. The kitten has been with my grandma ever since! It's really helped my grandma have a friend after she lost my grandfather. Her and the kitten seem to really kick it off perfectly!! The handler that brought her to us was honest and very sweet! This is a wonderful rescue. My husband and I reached out a few months ago about a cat we were interested in and Marilyn let us know despite her being adopted, she would keep our name on the list for future kitties. After a while we saw another who really spoke to us. Marilyn was once again amazing and so quick to help. Latka's foster mom, Jessica, was a gem. She was super communicative, sent photos, videos and even FaceTimed us. She was honest, genuine and you could tell how deeply she cared for the foster babies. Latka was extremely healthy and you can tell that although he was a feral cat, Jessica did wonders in helping him adapt to being a housecat. All his documents were very organized and straightforward as well. Since I was new to being a kitten mom, I had questions that I asked Jessica in the first few months after adopting. She was always willing to help! Latka (now Loki) is a handful, a cutie pie and a sweetheart. He is my little sidekick and I am so happy he came into our lives! I will recommend this rescue, and especially have great things to say about Jessica for years to come. read more

We were thrilled to adopt via Cat's Cradle. We adopted two sibling boys in April of 2021, and the whole process was amazing. We applied early on a Friday morning. Over the weekend, one of the administrators (Julie) let me know that she'd be calling on Monday. Julie and I spoke on Monday; she answered my MANY questions. Julie then set up a phone call with the foster parents. After a call (and then a video conference) with the foster parents (and cats), we knew these were the perfect cats for us! We filled out the contract the next day... then just had to wait for the boys to be "fixed" (and for our cat supplies to be delivered). Meanwhile, Julie was sending us lots of information about their current diet and litter. And the foster parents were sending us fabulous pictures and videos of our cats, plus lots of info about their likes/dislikes--it was so helpful! By the time we actually got to meet our boys, we felt like we already knew them! We arranged (due to the pandemic) to do a parking lot cat pick-up, and it went great. I would highly recommend Cat's Cradle. Everyone involved seemed incredibly caring and professional. read more

We adopted two adorable cats from Cats Cradle. However, it was apparent within the first week, they had significant health problems that had not been addressed during time spent at Cats Cradle. After a vet visit, we discovered both cats had untreated worms, one had upper respiratory infection needing antibiotics, and one had bleeding and painful gums leading to multiple tooth extractions with surgery. We were prepared to support both cats needs and after significant medical expenses they are getting healthier and are happy in our home. Advise that you get possible pets checked out prior to adoption. Concerned about the veterinary care other cats might not be receiving from Cats Cradle. Also concerned about unhealthy environment in cats foster homes prior to adoption. Information given to Cats Cradle with no response. read more

Phenomenal organization! I was trying to find a home for a stray I had been taking care of because my kitties couldn't adjust to a third cat in the house. I loved the kitty and wanted to find him the wonderful home he deserved. From the moment I contacted Cat's Cradle Marilyn was amazing. She was kind, supportive, communicative and responsive. I had contacted various other agencies to help me find a home for this kitty, but no one else was willing to help. I feel so lucky to have learned about Cat's Cradle and will always be grateful to the organization and specifically Marilyn for all of their help. I utilized their offered by owner program and the kitty was posted on their website. Today that amazing little cat went home with his new family. Having an application to review made me feel so much more comfortable about letting this adorable kitty go. I am very saddened and hurt by the way I have been treated at Cat's Cradle Rescue. After emailing the foster mother, the receptionist, and filling out the paperwork, there were emails, txts, and phone calls exchanged in an attempt to meet up with the foster mom. That's when it started to get a little shady. The receptionist, Julie, called me to check in that I had been contacted the previous day, which I had not been. She then promised me that no one else would be able to adopt the cat until I meet the kitten since it was clear the foster mom was very busy--(she only had one day off the whole week when I called). I was very relieved. I happened to call the receptionist gal again that evening because I was very excited after the foster mom agreed to meet me on Monday. Julie informed me that since there were scheduling conflicts on the foster mom's part, she had already decided she was just going to transport the kitten to another home where kittens from the same litter--which i was also interested in--were living. So no, I was told, I would not be meeting with the original foster mother that Monday. It all went downhill from there. Julie stated I would be contacted by the second foster mother. I wasn't, and I took the initiative that next morning to email her while I was at work. The second foster mother was wonderful and very communicative. She thanked me for my interest in her kittens and that she was expecting the main kitten I was interested in to arrive that night. After a couple emails on the background of the litter, I received an email from the second foster mother "that kitty Bailey was adopted today at Julie's (the receptionist's) house to a neighbor". Shocked, I phoned Julie and gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking there must have been some mistake on the second foster mother's part. No such luck. Julie clearly admitted to having stated that "yes, I did say that, but we can't always keep are promises". WOW. She made no mention of her neighbors, but that the "adopting family" had also submitted an application and been able to see Bailey. WHEN? The first foster mom was not free until Monday and the cat was in Julie's possession to be TRANSPORTED for me to meet to another home. Also disbelieving, the second foster mom informed me "I am still going to watch him as new adopter can't take him for a week due to some minor surgery adopter is having. Crazy but true." So the adopting family--AKA Julie's neighbors cannot even provide for the kitten right now so--how did their application make it through?!? I cannot trust this agency and cannot support them despite the fact that Bailey's siblings are still available. This is a terribly run dishonest business. I am appalled and highly recommend you do not adopt a cat through this agency. Today is 1/24/14, all of this started late Tuesday evening 1/21/14. I went to five other shelters before finding Bailey but after this I am willing to keep on searching for a cat to adopt, because it sure as hell wont be from Cat's Cradle Rescue in Hillsborough OR. read more

Marilyn runs a great service. She promptly responded to my inquiry which allowed us to give a kitten a home that much quicker. Other organizations either never returned calls or took several weeks to respond. Meanwhile kittens needed homes and we wanted to give one. Dorothea was the foster mom to our new kitten. I visited Dorothea's home and was truly impressed by the environment and love that she raised the kittens in. It was obvious that Dorothea truly loves her kitties. From the first day I contacted the rescue about finding another home for my beloved cat, Marilyn was incredibly helpful, kind and supportive throughout the process. And the process was remarkably fast and smooth. I found the DREAM home for my cat thanks to CCR. He's now been with his new family for almost a week, and I am so happy to say that he is adjusting marvelously well and is being unbelievably loved and taken care of by them. I adopted Max three months ago from Carol. I wanted a certain personality to fit well with my other cat. Absolutely everything Carol said was true about little Max. She answered all my questions, offered advice and followed up by phone and email to help with adjustment issues. I was exploring another kitten that a different CC volunteer who honestly said was not a good match. Very honest. They know cats and want the best for them. I've told many other people to go to Cats Cradle. When a cat is in a foster home, his personality and healthy are known. Outstanding group! read more

We have been looking for a kitten to add to our loving home for almost 2 years and it never seemed like the right time. We were blessed to have found Hermione for adoption on the Cat's Cradle website and when I put in an application, I received a response a day or two later. The response was A LOT QUICKER than I expected!! When we went to meet the kitten to make sure she was the right fit, we were greeted by her foster mom, Dorothea, who made the adoption transition a wonderful experience for myself and my kids. I was absolutely touched by the love, care, and attention these kittens and cats receive from Cat's Cradle. Not a good experience. Very upseting especially for my 89 year old Mother. Cats were placed by rescuer Kami/ works with Cats Cradle. Was told there would be a 2 week adjustment and then notified that Marilyn makes 1 week visit after placement. Kami and Mariyln showed up and removed the cats. On the phone it was made clear and application that that cats would be indoor only. We live on a very busy street, which was shared verbally and on the application. They should have never been brought out to begin with, very stressful for the cats. Very disturbing visit and removal of animals, down to a slammed door when the cats were taken out of my home. read more

Absolutely the worst women I have ever met can't believe you are a owner and talks to people who are struggling like they are pointless and stupid. I am beyond mad at how I was treated trying to get my kitty to a better home so I am not kicked out of mine and than was mad I told her my situation but she didn't understand it and there was no other way I could have explained it but kept on making me feel stupid for being poor and unable to provide for my cat in basic needs.
