The staff here and the products are absolutely great. My only complaint ever is that the dog trainer whose card I copied (don't even think they recommended her) turned out to be helpful initially, and not good in the end. I would have been better off with the free advice from the Mud Bay staff, which was great! Not only do they have great treats in bulk, they have a reusable container you can get for almost nothing to keep the price down. And, their return policy is wonderful. APPLE PAY!! Stopped in for my dogs' favorite treat, "Potato Pleasers" because no one but my vet carries them. Sadly, that's still the case. Why 5 stars? Because.... I received a quick, friendly greeting, followed by a definitive answer to my two questions, the second being whether they carry Pure Vita dog food, and they do. The person that helped me was quick to point out that he didn't want to waste my time and was certain he didn't carry the cookies. That's consideration. The store is a little farther but MUCH easier to get to than the only other place I know of that carries Pure Vita (Western Pet Supply). I was also given an envelope with perks and discounts for first-time visitors like myself. Add to that Apple Pay and I can say definitively this is my new favorite pet store. Check it out. I love this Mud Bay store. It's a bit out of the way from where I live currently, but it's worth it when I'm just bored at home with the dog, and we can go for a nice drive to one of his favorite places. The employees are always very welcoming and helpful, and sometimes try to introduce themselves to my shy dog. They're usually unsuccessful (he's a wuss with other humans) but I actually appreciate them trying because I really would love for him to see that people aren't that scary! They carry a great assortment of bulk treats and chews (our favorites are no-hides and First Mate chicken & blueberry treats), and carry great food brands. I'm not particularly "loyal" to this store when it comes to buying his food and treats (we also go to Nature's Pet at Orenco sometimes) because I like to support both businesses, but also they don't carry Answer's raw food here which is a bummer. I regularly go through their raw fermented goat's milk and cow kefir, but they don't carry it and they won't special order things for you unless they already carry that brand in the store. Still, we love this store! Definitely will continue supporting this business! read more

I absolutely love this Mudbay. All of the staff are an absolute delight, you're always greeted with a smile and they do recognize you, and your animals. I love their big selections of products, only thing I'm missing is a bigger collection bags of guinea pig bedding, the one they sell I'm not sure is going to be up to my piglets, and vets, high standards- as in not going to cause any respiratory issues. I would never go to any other pet store if they sold the big bags of bedding. Oh and I loooove how you can always get a treat for your animals :) read more

Unfortunately I did not receive the usually great service I usually get at Mud Bay today. I put my dog food on the counter. Devon rang me up. I kindly asked if he need my phone number. ( they have always asked me before they ring up my order). He said I needed to wait, a second later he said " now you can give it to me". He asked he if I needed a receipt and quickly walked away. I usually am asked if my dog would like a treat. He never asked. I thought maybe they are all out of treats. Just as I was walking away the cashier at the next counter asked her customer if her dog would like a treat. Not sure why they would let someone who clearly does not want to wait on customers work at an establishment known for its service. I can get the same food at another store for a better price. I do my best to support small business. This experience left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

This was my first experience in a Mud Bay store. Exceptional customer service by Kyleigh at the Hillsboro location the moment we walked in the door. We needed a specific brand of harness for a dog training class, and not only did she walk us to the correct product (of which there was a large selection of smaller sizes/colors) but tried it on our terrier mix to make sure the fit was right. Then she got a second opinion from another store member to make sure it was exactly right when she wondered whether it should be a little loose. Hands down my new favorite pet store! Mud Bay is my go to pet store. I LOVE that they have a vet on their staff and they have printed information available to answer problems and concerns. Recently, they special ordered some food for me. Really like Mud Bay. The staff are very friendly and ready to help as soon as you walk in. The store is split between cats and dogs. Cats taking the right side of the store and dogs the left. The layout is easy to find your way around and everything is tastefully presented. They have high quality cat foods and the litter we use, but at reasonable (and is some cases less expensive) prices. You can pre-order food if you want to buy in a more bulk fashion, and when you do so you get a discount. It's something like 10% off. Also, if you pre-order and change your mind, there's no obligation to come get it anyway. They will just hold onto it until they can shelve it. Overall, I highly recommend this store for all your cat (and maybe dog) needs. They even give you little treat bags for your companions. :) read more

This place is absolutely wonderful! I have never been disappointed by Mud Bay. Their most recent development, delivery, has been amazing during COVID-19. We are trying to leave the home as little as possible, and being able to have our pets' essentials delivered the day after we order them is amazing-- especially with such a low "free delivery" threshold (I believe it's only $30). Also, when I have been in-store, they're super hygienic and friendly, and I always have wonderful interactions with their employees. I really, really like this store. Every single employee that works at this Mud Bay location is extremely kind and they don't come off as "fake customer service friendly" but genuinely nice people outside of their jobs. The store is always neat and tidy and everything is easy to find. They don't have the biggest selection, but it's a small store so it's to be expected. Their dog treats are very well priced and I feel like I'm giving my pup good, healthy treats, as the ingredients are written right above the bins. Also, Mud Bay is the cheapest place in the Bethany area to get dog tags engraved, they run about 5$ cheaper than other pet suppliers in the area. They also have supplies for bunnies, chickens and other animals as well. Overall I really enjoy this Mud Bay and will continue to shop here for dog treats! read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Mudbay's newest shop today at their convenient Tanasbourne location! I hadn't heard of Mudbay before attending this year's pet expo in Portland. When I heard they had one opening right down the street from me and my furbaby, I was more than excited! Their store is light, bright, open, and innovative! I love the setup, love the products, love the employees! They carry my dog's food brand, as well as various interactive toys I haven't seen at other stores in the area. I have already planned to return soon with my Americanbulldog in stow; with the holidays fast approaching, you can't forget the pups when it comes to Christmas shopping! One of the employees went out of her way to give me a welcome card (hand written, nice touch!) and a small sample of a freeze dried treat for Oakley. What a great first impression. Just stopped by this Mud Bay location. It was my first time at a Mud Bay store. We looked on Yelp and saw all the awesome ratings for ALL of the Mud Bay locations. We were excited to go to a store and check it out for ourselves. When at the store we were looking into a new harness for our puppy. Maggie, a store employee, helped us with sizing. She was incredibly helpful and welcoming to us and our new puppy. She did a few training things with our puppy and treated her. It was so great for to see our puppy working with another person like Maggie. We will definitely be going back to this Mud Bay location so our puppy can visit Maggie and the other employees.
