Do not adopt from here. I went to go meet a cat and I kept getting pressure to pay or deposit first without even being able to take the cat right away. I ask about the cat and he got taken after giving them money. They also lost a cat here from a foster. Do not adopt here, go somewhere else that care about their cats. read more

I adopted 2 cats from them in city of industry and the lady Kim in charge there talked behind my back and refused to let me adopt another the 2 cats I adopted one I had to wait 2 months because it kept getting sick and the other one had calisi virus when it was given to me. Do yourself a favor buy a cat no need for drama no one should tell you whether or not to have a pet the cats there are just in the cages no one wants and who gave them permission to tell anyone they can't adopt a cat. oh boy, where to even start!! i found this shelter by looking up "free cats" lol, because my dad said we could get another cat if he didn't have to pay for it. i stumbled across the cats in need website, and saw that they offered service hours to teens who fostered cats for them. of course, i was 100% interested in this opportunity!! i sent an email, got contacted and eventually i ended up fostering a 2 year old cat who had just finished raising her kittens. now, obviously, i fell in love with this cat and adopted her within the first few weeks. all the team members were so nice and welcoming to me when i went in to fill out paperwork, i decided to ask if they needed any volunteers for their adoption shows. they said yes, and long story short i started my journey with cats in need! I've always felt so welcomed here, whether im helping set up tables and cages for adoption events, or im just having a casual conversation with the lovely ladies who run the event when things get slow. I can really tell they care about every cat that crosses their path, and they make sure the homes these cats go to are the perfect fit for them. i can see how hard this shelter tries to make sure all cats have a happy and safe life, and it really makes a difference in these animals lives. overall: I highly recommend this place. good quality cats, good quality care, good quality prices :) they really are in it for the animals here, and thats the best part of this place if you're ever considering getting a cat, for any reason, i suggest you go here first read more

These ladies care so much about these kittens and cats and take such amazing care of all of them. They volunteer HOURS of their days to saving and protecting as well as rehoming the cats. They accept venmo and zelle for adoptions, they walk you through the adoption process so clearly and help you find a cat for you, your home, and your wants. I purchased these 2 kittens (3 months old at the time) on 11/18/23 for my grandkids. Less than 30 days I felt the need to return them since my other pets weren't accepting them. I was in touch with Debbie at Cats in Need through text who agreed I could return them. However, I had mixed emotions about it because we were already getting attached to the kittens. Move forward 3 mos later where the kittens are 6 mos now I finally let Debbie know there was no way we could keep them. We weren't able to commit to the time and care they needed after all. Mind you, I have been in contact with Debbie this whole time who agreed again to take them back. I returned them 3/9 with all their belongings and she is now refusing to refund my $390 saying it was a non-refundable donation. That's fine if I were keeping them but after returning them I am denied a refund. Had I known this I would have sold them myself to recoup my money back. This is horrible business practice for this organization that works out of Pet Smart at Savi Ranch on Saturdays. Caution to all people interested in getting a cat. Avoid Cats in Need or take the chance of getting ripped off like me!!! read more

I found a baby kitten last night under my mobile home who I am very worried for. I reached out to the North Fontana branch in hope that they could somehow help but was rudely turned down. I understand that they were full but I do not appreciate the tone and the sarcasm Karen Cloves gave me. She barely let me speak to tell her the story only to rudely interrupt me and say, " do you know what time it it?". Yes, I called at 7 am but I wouldn't have called if I wasn't worried for this kitten. I am a college student who leaves back to school tonight and need to find a place for this kitten immediately because I don't want to leave it out in the cold alone. I didn't mean to bother but I don't think it was professional at all of her to cut me off with such a rude remark. Also, I know nothing about cats and I tried to tell her that but all she kept saying is "we're full" rather than at least aiding me in some other way. If you are looking for a rescue group definitely do not go contact Karen. I hope the other branches are more considerate and professional. read more

Hello I am glad you read about evh it is very sad been heart broken Grand terrace hospital tries to save my Buddy but they said having him wait all day while his bladder filled with blood even though it was unblocked he passed I was not there i never got to see my buddy alive again He was a; healthy cat. Strong . So if you love your animals go somewhere else. What kind of vet treats their customer and animals like this. I believe I ts animal cruelty. I was so depressed I did not think I would snap out of it I cried for a week I have since got two new kittens . There ahand ful so it takes my mind off Bojangles buddy cat friends for life. I volunteer with with a big dog rescue that happens to hold it's adoption events once a month at the Yorba Linda Petsmart when Cats in Need is holding their adoption event. The volunteers at Cats in Need are informative, caring, respectful, friendly and easy to work with. They don't freak out when a dog and it's dog owner goes walking by the cat crates. Every now and than, the cats at Cats in Need donates leftover blankets and towels to the German Shepherds at the rescue I volunteer with. Whenever an applicant, family member, coworker inquires about a reputable cat rescue, I do NOT hesitate to recommend Cats in Need! read more

Very disappointed in this "cat rescue "because they have arbitrary rules like they won't adopt any household that has a dog in it. We had actually saw this cat while it was in a cubicle at Petsmart during the week and the cat loves my dog was rolling over and rubbing against the glass so we came on adoption day only to be told that they won't even consider a household with the dog and it. read more

My wife and I adopted our Columbus from the Chino Cats in Need. Before we adopted him and I met the "cat community" I was a total dog person. But my wife being a cat lover talked me in to it. The lady we talked to was German I think her name was April not sure. She had a big personality and kinda hyper for some people that might be a turn off but she truly loves cats. We've had our cat for a few years now and sometimes go back and visit her. If you're looking for a great pet I recommend a cat and I recommend getting one from cats in need... also Dogs are still awesome lol Adopt a shelter pet!! read more

Worst adoption agency ever. Took my 3 year old with me to find us a kitten since we are not allowed to have our pitbull at our apartment, they basically told me no to every kitten I asked about. Solely based on the fact that I had a small child with me. My son has grown up around 3 pitbulls (at once) and a cat AND a hamster. He is gentle with all animals. Only deal with cats in need if you want your blood pressure to sky rocket!! This place will find any reason to reject you or in my case make one up. The volunteers are completely and utterly rude! You go into PetsMart wanting to do the right thing and adopt and then you have to deal with these women who will unfortunately in the end turn many people against adoption due to how they are treated. All of my fur babies are from shelters...and when dealing with shelters I was never treated this poorly! Take my advice, if you want to adopt go to a shelter where you will be treated with respect. Unfortunately, the ones losing in this situation are the cats :/ read more

I adopted two cats (my kids) from here. They are the BEST ever! My cats as well as the people at Cats in Need Yorba Linda inside the Petsmart store at Savi Ranch. They have them in clear cages that you can see from inside the store just to left of the store entrance and on Saturdays you can go and actually talk to volunteers that set up outside the "cat room" with cages and people to answer all your questions. read more

Very disappointed with this cat agency, is as if they have a certain pet owner in mind and won't deviate from that. We walked asked basic questions, a cat scratched my son, no big deal. We decided on a kitten after doing a 15 min meet and greet and being at the store two hours. First of all no one knew anything about the kitten and he smelled like pee and poop. The person in charge wasn't there. We built rapport with the cat and decided to take it home after weeks of searching, we fell in love with him! Then we fill out the application and were denied along with another couple who was denied for the fact that their other pets passed away from old age. The person there (who when we walked in the store was smoking outside the store probably worse for any cat/kitten) also bumped up the price because he was a special breed, like I'm not sure if that's even ethical. We were also denied because we wouldn't take two cats, didn't have a cat at home and because we had kids. So crazy now we are forced to purchases kitten from a breeder for a lot cheaper but less hassle. read more

I was rejected by cats in need for the following reasons. 1. I have 4 kids. 2. I have 2 dogs. 3. I Work part time and therefore am not home 24 hours a day. I wanted to adopt a kitten because our older 2 cats had passed away and I thought this time adoption would be better than a pet store. Well. I ended up at a pet store and now I have a beautiful 4 year old muted calico who is a spoiled princess. We also rescued a 7 week old Bombay last year from the high school ceramics shed. Both live contently with my 4 kids and 2 dogs. And neither have a problem with me not being home 24 hours a day. How sad that I tried to do the right thing by supporting a rescue and still ended up at a pet store for one of my beauties. Your rescue is a joke. They wouldn't know decent loving people if they were hugged by one. read more
