It did take a long time, though to be able to sing a song and they didn't have a lot of songs I would think that they would have for a karaoke place. Overall, it was a fun vibe. It was as fun time and I would definitely go back. It is normally $10 per person and we got in for $5 each on a tuesday at 9pm. Drinks were $15 each for a strong margarita with a tajin rim. I couldn't turn down a lady shouting over the fremont street with a bullhorn offering free popcorn and karaoke. Inbetween each singer, the Mc sings along with a song as a transition. The singing depends on the MC and the person singing, but usually the crowd gets involved, especially if the singer is not great. You'll find it on the second floor of the Neonopolis center. There's someone at the door checking IDs and giving you a hand stamp... and wow, that stamp does not play! Big, bold, and not shy about announcing itself. (They might want to explore a lighter hand -- or at least a cuter stamp!) When you first walk in, you pass through a small gift shop before stepping into the main bar -- and this is where the fun starts. A DJ booth, two pianos, a drum kit, and a stage set up for pure chaos and creativity. The staff is super friendly, and the KJs add to the charm by wearing costumes and hyping up the crowd. For 5:30pm on a weekday, the place was surprisingly busy -- Fremont energy never sleeps. Now, the song list... let's just say it's not the most extensive. But what they lack in song selection, they totally make up for with spontaneous performances and crowd-interaction. We went to Cat's Meow in Downtown Las Vegas for a corporate industry event and it was an absolute blast! From the start, the host was super fun and engaging--kept the energy up the whole time with games, dancing, and of course karaoke. We had a 90's theme and the DJ totally delivered with great tunes that got everyone out on the dance floor. The bartenders were fantastic--friendly, fast, and generous with the pours. Can't beat the 2-for-1 drinks either! Food-wise, it was mostly fried bar food--not really my favorite, but it was fine and fit the casual vibe. Typical bar bites to go with drinks and dancing. On the planning side, they were incredibly easy to work with--flexible, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly. Overall, Cat's Meow is the perfect spot for a party, team event, or just a night out. Do not go to this establishment unless you are a local!!!! You will get to sing once if you are lucky and that's a maybe! You can wait up until an hour and a half to sing! The locals, employees, and employees friends always come first!!!! I've given this place many chances in my visits to Vegas, but I'm done. I don't know how this place can call itself a karaoke bar when their list is so bare. No Depeche Mode, Dionne Warwick, or even Tony Bennet and only one or two songs by any other artist. They need to use KaraFun or some system that doesn't require you to go to their website to make a song request. On top of that, they charge $20 for two 6 oz drinks in plastic cups. And this was supposedly their 2-for-1 special? I know the Fremont St experience is sometimes pricey but really? 1 star. Would NOT recommend! read more

Highly recommended. Went here on Sunday October 12, 2025 while visiting Las Vegas from New Jersey. First time at Freemont street and at Cat's Meow. My partner and I were skeptical at first, didn't see a lot of people entering, but let me tell you, we had an exceptional great time. We went last night, which was a Sunday night. The cover charge was $10, but if you find their card person on Fremont you get in free. The place is like your crazy grandma meets 80s time capsule. I enjoyed myself, it's a dive bar karaoke place. No bells or whistles just locals mixed with tourists. I Jell-O shots and margaritas are great. They do charge $2 for water but you get a pitcher and cups for it. read more

We happened to be in Vegas Super Bowl weekend. I tried to find someplace to watch the game, but most bars were sold out. I found Cats Meow had tickets for a guaranteed seat one drink and a slice of pizza for $25. Not a bad deal. The place was about 1/2 full for the game. The staff was friendly but the free cocktail was served in a small plastic cup, and the pizza slice I swear tasted like frozen pizza from the grocery store. The great game vibe they touted on was non existence. They also advertised drink specials throughout the game. (Nonexistent) we were bored and left before half time. This may be a great karaoke bar but not a good place to watch the Super Bowl. read more

The Cats Meow was a huge waste of time. First off, they sneak in a $30 "service fee" without even telling you what it's for--you have to ask. Turns out it's to pay their awful karaoke host. Excuse me? If you're going to charge me extra, at least be upfront about it. And if the host was actually worth it, maybe--MAYBE--I wouldn't be as pissed. But this? Absolutely not. The host was terrible. She sang her own crappy songs in between every single karaoke hopeful--hogging the stage while paying customers sat around waiting. My group literally stayed until 4AM and never even got to sing ONCE. What kind of karaoke bar doesn't actually let people sing? That's the whole point! And don't get me started on the obnoxious airhorn after every song. It wasn't fun, it wasn't hype--it was beyond irritating. By the end of the night, we were more annoyed than entertained. Bottom line: Cats Meow is a frustrating mess. Stop sneaking in fees, fire the host, ditch the damn airhorn, and maybe--MAYBE--we'd give this place another shot. As it stands? Never again. read more
