I heard some good things about Cattlemens and this was my first time coming here. To tell you the honest truth tonight's dinner was a big let down it was bland and very forgettable. While their employees gives good courteous customer service their food is lacking in flavor and ratio to value. For $90 including tips I expect at least two sides of bread but got only one. This is the following items i ordered for tonight's forgettable dinner. Sourdough bread 4/5 alone the bread itself was the best thing they have compared to their forgettable sides. Twice baked potato 1/5 it fell short it has only one note along with a undercooked potato. Side salad 2/5 got the extra honey mustard, and ranch but where is the croutons?? 20 OZ cowboy ribeye 2/5 this was for my parents it was cooked and has that nice char grill flavor but it was bland. 2LBS "the Sheriff" 2/5 it has a nice char grill flavor but it was bland and tasteless some sea salt and fresh cracked peppercorns would help a lot. The steak itself was soft & MEH in flavor. Mashed potatoes 3/5 not too bad. Ranch style beans 3/5 just ok nothing special. Service 4/5 their customer service on the phone and in person was really good and they got some cuties working there tonight. (Emily sounded really sweet and sincere during these difficult pandemic times, good job. ; P Even though they got good customer service it doesn't make it up for their forgettable food and also not worth driving 14 miles to get there. Went out on Saturday night arrived at 7:30 pm, sat in the bar. A waitress approached our table which had salad and bread plates set up. The salad bowls were not clean, they had carrots in them. We asked her to replace the tableware with clean and she dumped the carrots on the floor and returned the plates to the table. Next she brought water and our bottle of wine and we didn't hear from her again, even though she worked the bar area. A young man brought our meal to the table some time later. We ordered our rib eye steak medium well and it was bleeding when we got it. We ordered mixed veggies, it was a squash medley and it was cold and onion was not cooked. The dinner was awful and our bill was $140.00. Hideous. The ambiance was less than attentive-it was someone's last night working and the workers were more interested in her than serving. Amazing. My husband and I went in Thursday night around 5pm. We were a little worried that we would need a reservation since we saw a few people waiting, but luckily for 2 people they did have available booths. We got seated immediately. Our booth was right next to a fireplace it was so nice. My only complaint is that the table next to our booth was way too close I felt like I couldn't talk to my husband without them hearing every word I said. But that's okay no reason to take off stars I'm assuming they get really busy and they need as many tables as possible. Our server Justin was very polite, and friendly, he brought out drinks right away and took our order quickly. We ordered an appetizer it was the loaded skins. He got the ribeye steak, and I got the mushroom ravioli. Everything was AMAZING the loaded skins were my favorite the bacon was so tasty and just perfection. The bread was probably the best bread I've had at any steakhouse I've been to. We are from San Diego, just moved to Hanford, when we got our total I was so shocked by how cheap it was! Other steaks ordered at the table had zero seasoning whatsoever - not a grain of salt nor a speck of pepper. Steak pictured was ordered as a ribeye. We'd never been to a Cattlemen's before last weekend. I used to remember the one in Dixon on the way to Sacramento from years ago. Apparently it's still there, and there are about 8 in the regional chain, including one in Selma. Dear Hubby and I went over to have dessert there after we'd had an early dinner elsewhere after driving the Fresno Blossom Trail. I searched for dessert options in the area, and Cattlemen's popped up, courtesy of the Yelpers. Thank you! Cruising through a full parking lot, we weren't sure what the seating situation would be. The hostess indicated that if we wanted dessert in the bar, it was open seating, and to make ourselves at home at an open table. We found one quickly, and a delightful server came to take care of us. She was a ray of sunshine and took great care of us. DH was having a second bout of hunger, so ordered a couple of tri-tip tacos. I had a sample. Very good, but not what my taste buds wanted. I was all set for the sweet stuff - and they delivered with a fabulous version of chocolate chip cookie in a skillet with vanilla ice cream on top. Very similar to the pizookie at BJ's Restaurants, I thought the Cattlemen's version was superior. The cookie itself was outstanding, with just the right ingredients to anchor the dish. Decaf coffee on the side was made up fresh for me. Sitting in the bar area was an interesting experience - lots of decor items to take in, and a cool spot for people watching. We were against one wall at a high top table, so could view the whole room well. I'd happily return for that cookie dessert, that's for sure! read more

Came here today to celebrate my birthday and was very disappointed. Drove 30 minutes to come and eat here, we had reservations and didn't get seated until almost 30 minutes after our reservation time. Person that sat us asked if we were celebrating and I mentioned it was my birthday. We waited almost an hour for our food and right before the food came out they came and let me know that there was actually no more rib eye which is what I wanted to eat for my birthday. My Great Granddaughter initially requested milk, changed her mind to water and then requested chocolate milk. We thought the restaurant would not have chocolate milk which we voiced. Johnny, said I can make my Granddaughter chocolate milk and stir up real good. This was an example of Johnny pleasing the customer. Johnny, took our orders and delivered our appetizers, salad, bread, entree and dessert in a timely manner. The steaks were cooked according to our preference and correct temperature. This was a great place at one time. We were frequent patrons on special occasions. I hadn't been back in awhile but was invited recently for a birthday dinner. Wow.. not even close to the same level. The only thing the same is the building. The food quality was very subpar. My food was stone cold. My sister in law ordered crab legs and had to request the drawn butter several times. Others at our table all had issues as well. We didn't want to complain but when our server asked if we were good or had any issues we all replied with our issues. Our poor server was absolutely trying her best but it was a mad house every where we looked. All the staff were rushing and looked extremely sweaty. We all were. This place was so hot - it was a warm evening in the 90's outside and this place inside was just as hot. I can't believe how horrible this place has become. Even my drink was mediocre and tasted watered down. Probably because it was so hot the ice cubes melted halfway to my table. I'm sure I am not returning. Ambiance , hot and stuffy and crazy. Only person who looked unbothered was a tall black gentleman who was walking around typing on his cell phone and writing this down he I believe he was a staff member because I constantly seen him walk to the back then walking around looking at tables but never saw him interact with anyone, not staff or patrons. Last night we were a party of 16. Making the reservation was easy. As our group arrived, a gracious hostess led each one to a big back room. The tables were all ready. Our server, Victor, immediately took our drink orders. I informed him most of us would be separate tickets, but that he could add his 18% tip. He had no issue and was quite grateful. When the food arrived everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Victor kept on top of the whole group replacing our drinks and removing plates. But he didn't constantly interrupt like some servers do. Everyone had such an amazing experience. I think Victor got additional tips on top of the 18%. This place use to be the go-to for steak and prime rib. I have had my office parties here multiple times before COVID. It has really gone downhill. The service is horrible. We were craving prime rib so we made a reservation and drove the 30 minutes to get there. We arrived 5 mins early for our reservation. There were 5 girls at the hostess stand just chitchatting while we waited, empty tables all around. When we were seated, the waiter dropped off our drinks and left. My kids had their drinks in kids cups with lids but no straws. It took 30 mins for the waiter to come back and take our order. We timed it. Then he informed us that they were out of prime rib. It was only 6:45pm. He should have said something when we were seated since we told the hostess that we came for prime rib. Still sitting here waiting for our food and it's been another 30 mins since we ordered our food. The service here use to be top notch. Good help is hard to find these days I guess. Update: We got our food at 7:30. Our reservation was for 6:15 and we were seated at 6:20pm. The steaks were cooked to holy hell and back again then arrived cold. We ordered steaks medium rare and they came out pretty much well done. See photos. When you cut into a steak, you expect nice juices to run. As you can see, no juice at all because the steaks were so dry and overcooked. Even my daughter's burger, which we specifically said "medium with pink running through" came out well done. The shrimp scampi was so cold and no scampi sauce whatsoever. Dry. We ate it, because we were starving and didn't want to wait another 45 mins for new steaks but it was hard to swallow. Ok!! We've been here a few times these last few months and can normally overlook some sub par issues, but I'm done after tonight. First off, the salad and bread are fantastic but they insist on giving you rock hard butter. What's wrong with room temp butter so that its easily spreadable on bread?? Anyway, every single time we visit, our sides are always ice cold or the loaded sweet potato tastes like onions and has that weird refrigeration taste, or the rice is overly dry and tasteless. Tonight was no different but we go because we like the steaks. My petite filet was barely warm and my baked potato had a sugary taste to it. I figured they cut the potato open with a dirty knife. My daughter's salmon was like a dried up cold icicle. But the worst part was my husband's prime rib. It was greyish/shiny brown. It smelled absolutely rancid, I thought he was going to be physically ill at the table. The waitress said she could smell it when she brought it out but thought it was the fish!!! WTH?!? I don't know how the kitchen didn't see that this meat was rotten. This place has some serious kitchen issues. If the sides are consistently cold, that means nobody is checking proper temperatures. If the potatoes have flavors they're not supposed to, it's because they're not properly stored or being cross contaminated with the cooking utensils. If the meat looks or smells bad or you wouldn't eat it, then don't plate it up and serve it!!! I also want to add, the salt and pepper shakers are filthy. Like food stuck to them. How are these not cleaned by the servers daily?? If these problems are problems anyone can see, it makes me wonder what else is going on behind the scenes. We finally complained tonight but I don't feel management made it right. The right thing to do when food is uneaten and there is something wrong with it, would be to NOT CHARGE for it. They still charged me $30 bucks for my steak, I'm not sure why since I didn't eat it. With how expensive things are today, I won't be wasting my precious money on this place anymore. read more
