Manny is an awesome server. He normally works the bar, but also served our table. This is to update my review from a year prior, they do have 2 fried rices that are from the Dai Bai Dang menu (one, aptly, called Dai Bai Dang Special Fried Rice.) Taiwanese Fried Rice is our favorite. Reminds us of Dai Bai Dang's main fried rice. (Not the Black Dai Bai rice.) Orange Chicken here is really good. We have to get this because of our 15-year old. Things have improved during this visit, so bumping the stars up.

My first time at Spicy J's and I can tell you right now I will be back! We had three adults and three children. We came for lunch and the portions were so huge, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Our waitress Janelle was so sweet and helpful!

The Grand Reopening, June 1st, advertised an updated menu, refined food presentation, and elevated service standards. So very glad we had a 2PM Sunday reservation because there definitely was a queue of waiting parties. The majority of our 8-person party arrived 5 minutes early, and we were kindly asked to wait a few minutes before being seated. Changes to exterior entrance and waiting space have been made since my last visit. The interior, as expected, has not seemed to change. While awaiting the rest of our party, we ordered our drinks, Js Crispy Chicken Wings, Veggie Spring Rolls, Fujian Fried Sticky Rice, Js Fried Rice, Wonton Soup, Sizzling Seafood, and Fried Sesame Balls. Our friends unfortunately did not receive the best welcome when requesting to join the already seated party. Still they graciously ordered Crab & Avocado Spring Rolls, Sizzling Crab Fried Rice, medium-rare Teppan Steak, rare Teppan Steak, Teppan Chicken, Honey Cashew Shrimp, Kao Yu Sichuan Spicy Grilled Fish, Smoked Rack of Ribs, and a whole Tea Smoked Crispy Duck. Believe I tried most everything and, with the exception of Teppan Chicken which seemed the norm, I enjoyed it all. Planning to return again.

I was excited to try this place especially after the reopening but sad to say I was not impressed. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. I will say the food is cooked fresh to order. I ordered the spicy orange chicken and it came out steaming hot and crispy. I also like how with an entree, you get soup or salad and rice as a side. The entrees are big portions that you can definitely share family style. The spicy orange chicken wasn't too spicy but I didn't really taste the orange/citrus flavor. My sister ordered the original orange chicken which was okay in terms of flavor but not my favorite orange chicken. My other sister ordered the mango chicken which had great reviews and people on tik tok literally raving about it and I did not like it. Definitely the biggest disappointment. The flavor was very one dimensional; it was overly sweet and that's all I could taste really. I couldn't go back for a second bite because it was too sweet for my liking. I ordered the Side of fried rice it was alright. Not super delicious but also not the worse. I tried the side chowmein which tasted bland to me. I also tried the black rice which had an interesting texture and taste; it wasn't necessarily sticky rice but it also wasn't regular rice; it was a cross in between. A dish that I would reorder if I ever came back to this place would be the appetizer trio but specially the fried calamari; it has the perfect balance of salty and spicy; it was crispy and fried to perfection. I ate that up so quick! The wontons were bland and so were the potstickers; I wouldn't order those again. The pork buns were pretty good; I like how it was pan seared and the bottom had a layer of sesame creating a crispy bottom that complimented the chewy top part of the bun well. Service was not that great but it could have just been the server we got. She was nice but she was slow. I finished my cup of water at least twice and had to wait several minutes before she came to check up on us. One time even the manager asked if we needed anything and I told him nicely I needed a refill to which he refilled my cup quickly. It was just a bit frustrating trying to enjoy my meal but feeling really thirsty and not seeing our server in sight to ask for a refill. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back here and I don't recommend this place. In my opinion, it's glorified Americanized Chinese food but dare I say I prefer Panda Express over this restaurant. It just missed the mark for me in terms of flavor and customer service .

Stopped by for Spicy J's grand reopening and had such a good experience. The biggest standout of the night was honestly the service. Manny took great care of us, walked us through the menu, answered our questions, and made the entire experience feel welcoming from start to finish. We ordered a little bit of everything, including the honey cashew shrimp, wok-fried calamari, veggie spring rolls, chicken xiao long bao, mango chicken, Mongolian beef, Taiwanese fried rice, spicy beef noodle soup, dessert trio, mandarin cheesecake, and a couple of mocktails. My personal favorites were the Blood Orange Collins, the Orange Glazed Chicken Wings, and the Spicy Sichuan Wontons. I think I could have easily eaten a few more orders of those wontons by myself. One thing I really appreciate about Spicy J's is the variety. Whether you're craving dumplings, noodles, beef dishes, seafood, shareable appetizers, or something sweet, there's a good chance everyone at the table will find something they enjoy. Every person in our group ended up having a different favorite dish, which says a lot about the menu. They also have some happy hour-exclusive mini items, which is a fun way to try a few different things without committing to full-sized dishes. The grand reopening introduced new menu items, elevated presentation, updated employee uniforms, and an even stronger focus on service. Located in River Park, parking is the usual River Park setup with plenty of shared lot parking nearby. Overall, it was a great experience and a reminder of why Spicy J's is such a fun spot for groups with different tastes. I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

There is nothing spectacular with the decor of the restaurant. It was very busy. However, the service was amazing. Our server Manny and a women who was covering for him and in training were so attentive to us our whole visit. There was also I believe a manager checking tables. We were seated right away, drinks were ordered and brought quickly. The women covering answered all our questions. The food came out quickly and hot. Everything was really good. Orange chicken was average but the Mongolian beef was amazing. We had a really great experience and can't wait to go back to try more items.

Food was good. Most importantly, our waitress Xia was very understanding. She assured me that she would make sure there is no cross contamination with meat products. And they did! I felt very comfortable eating my vegetarian food here. Staff is very friendly and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we wanted.

A mommy friend and our kids dined in last week. The next day they announce they were having a Grand Re-Opening and we scheduled another lunch date with our kids yesterday at noon. We sat at their patio dining area. Party of 2 adults and 3kids. Our server was Lily she was very kind and attentive. After she greeted us she went over the special they were offering which included their free cheese wonton apps for Fathers Day and they are offering 20% your whole tab if you show you're following them in IG and don't forget to download the Lins app for point/and or redeem them. The menu is cleaner and easier to read. There's also a few changes. I order from their lunch menu: Yu Shan eggplant, half rice and hald chow mein, comes with soup or salad and eggroll or cheese wontons. Our food came out all hot and large portioned. The food her is always delicious! So much flavor, I was craving it not even a week since we dined in. I love how they clearly mark their menu items for those with allergies to gluten, nuts. They also have vegetarian options. I love how inclusive they are with individuals on special diets. Also how kid friendly Lin's restaurants are. Highly recommend and can't wait to revisit! We had a great experience during their grand reopening! Restaurants clean the service is amazing as always, and the food delicious!

There's just something about gathering around a conversation table with good friends and great food, that makes for the perfect night out. We sampled a little bit of everything, including the braised beef with potatoes, chicken corn chowder soup, honey cashew shrimp, calamari, Kung Pao chicken, chicken dumplings, and their Spicy Crab Fried Rice topped with crispy soft-shell crab and plenty of garlic. Every dish brought something different to the table, making it perfect for sharing. Whether you're planning a date night, family dinner, girls' night, or simply looking for a place to catch up with friends, Spicy J's in River Park is a spot worth adding to your list.

I absolutely love Spicy J's! They're a Szechuan-style Chinese restaurant known for flavorful spicy dishes and fresh ingredients. Their chow mein is one of my favorites, and everything I've tried has been great quality. The spicy entrées are always packed with flavor and never disappoint. The service is also wonderful -- everyone is very friendly and welcoming every time I visit. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Fresno!

The service was amazing, food is good! For the price you do get a large food portion. Both meals we got had a nice spicy level. I would recommend the noodles as the side dish over the fried rice. You get more food and the noodles have a better flavor. I loved the wok fired shrimp, it has a tastey garlic chili flavor. My husband enjoyed his orange chicken.

The food here is great! The side dishes that come with the main dish makes it well worth the price and definitely will get you full. Not sure what the salad dressing was but it was very good and the salad was cold and fresh. The chow mein was not over powering in flavor which is what I would want for a side dish. The spicy orange chicken was delicious! I can handle a lot of spice so it wasn't too spicy to me, just enough to have a flavor of spice but I will definitely ask for extra spice next time. The mango bomb drink was recommended by our waiter Jazper, and it didn't disappoint, I love mango too so I couldn't go wrong. Jazper was a fun waiter, he checked on us often, had great recs, and was fun to talk to. The ambiance was a nice family friendly place, not too loud or overstimulating. Highly recommend!

This place has been in my regular rotation since they opened and I have never had a bad meal here…read more The concept is a family style hot pot restaurant where you cook your own protein, vegetables or noodles in a flavored brother. You can pick between 1 and 4 different broths per pot. Each table has one cooking stove top, with the larger tables having two. The broths range from vegetarian to mild, to spicy to meat based. Everything is a la carte with the exception of some premade combinations bundling a variety of like items. There's various meat and veggie combos as well as a seafood combo. I always order the veggie combo which comes with a lot that's easily shareable between 4 people. It comes with various greens, mushrooms, cabbage, corn on the cob, cauliflower, and carrots. I don't eat red meat so I stick to their sliced chicken breast or the shrimp balls. My other favorite is the bean curd sticks which is a good meatless protein option. As for broths my two favorite are the Chinese Healthy Herb and the kimchi. I also like their salted crispy chicken appetizer (popcorn chicken). Steamed rice is also a must for me. They have a dipping sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauce to accompany your hot pot. With the exception of the broth adding flavor, the meats and all the ingredients you add to your hot pot are unseasoned. It includes everything from soy sauce and fish sauce to garlic, fresh chilis, vinegar, and crushed peanuts. Whether you like to keep it simple, mild, or spicy there's a sauce you can create. The ambiance is pretty nice. It used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago and they did keep some of the things the same. They have 3 different TVs inside. The two larger ones on the walls each play a different Kdrama and the one above the register plays Kpop music videos. They do have one larger table that I think accommodates somewhere between 10-12 people (don't quote me on that) and another that can fit 6 or 7 people. Majority of the tables sit 4 and a couple sit 2. Depending what day and time you go, it can get pretty busy and you might have to wait a while. The staff is always friendly and helpful. At the end of the meal they give you orange slices and hard guava candy. Their orange slices are always so good too and a good palette cleanser at the end.

I recommend getting the individual meats if you're going as a smaller group just so you don't get too much. My personal favorite to get here is the sesame balls.
