The ranch style beans are SO good.

We celebrated a friend's Birthday recently on a Friday evening. I made reservations online which was super convenient. We were seated quickly. Our server was attentive and accomodating. After being seated we ordered a few drinks. When asking about the happy hour specials there was a clear misunderstanding. It is advertised as a happy hour however it doesn't apply if your eating and spending money in the dining room area...I suppose? Happy hour prices seem to be only valid in the bar area I guess. Idk, It made no sense and our server honestly did not explain it very well. That was a little annoying bc theres a 6$ price difference between the happy hr margarita and the 13$ one served in the dining room. So- I ordered the jalapeno margarita and my husband ordered a Moscow Mule. My margarita was gross. I did not enjoy it but I finished it bc it was 13$. I did not taste any tequila only jalapeno juice. My husbands MM was weak also , he said he couldn't taste any vodka in it at all. We ordered the meal for 2, I think it 85$ and a great deal. It comes w/ a nice selection of apps, 2 entrees and a dessert to share. We picked the tumbleweed onions for an appetizer and were pretty disappointed-they were oily, semi warm and difficult to eat. We tasted our friends artichoke dip and chips and were also disappointed with that. The chips were stale. For my entree I ordered the NY strip and it was delicious. The salad, bread, beans and loaded potato, were all very good. The ranch tasted home made. My husband got the steak and shrimp scampi and really liked it. The shrimp were big and the garlic sauce was good. His steak was also delicious. We got the brownie sundae to share for dessert and it didnt seem like very much brownie but was overall good. We had a great time. We will definitely come back again and maybe sit in the bar area. But will def give it another shot. 7/10

Friday night Party of 2 Made a reservation online for 4:30pm. Restaurant opens at 4:00pm for dinner. We were running late and coming from Clovis so I called to let them know we would be there at 5:00pm. The cheerful and friendly young lady said no problem, we hold reservations for 15 minutes past reservation time. That's great. Thank you. We hate being late. We were welcomed and seated upon arrival and our booth was cozy. This was our first time here and we were hungry and excited to order a great steak and some crab legs. Bread was brought to our table and we enjoyed it. The drink glasses are large and nice and icy! My crab legs were perfect and hubby enjoyed his steak. He liked the beans but there was some spice in there that I didn't really care for. We were thinking we would order dessert but our server who really didn't check on us much during dinner, was ready to bring us our check, so we decided to just pay and stop someplace for dessert. 5 stars for everything but the waiter rushing us at the end of our meal. There was a gift card special going on so we bought one and will be back for hubby's birthday in February.

So thankfully blessed that they honored us veterans by offering a coupon for a free meal. We had been to other Cattlemen's in the past but never here. I love the western cowboy vibe. Had reservations and were seated shortly after check in. My son went to the bar and brought us our drinks (happy hour only at bar). Drinks were fantastic! Our food came out quick and was delicious! My wife and I split a meal and my son had his own. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Totally happy with our meal and will definitely be back again!

Came here for a surprise birthday party. They accommodated a party of 15 no problem! Ordered a bunch of appetizers and I ordered the rustler steak. We had no issues with getting our food on time and the server was fantastic!!!

Dropped in for a dinner and to try out Cattleman's. I have drove by many times and almost wished I did again. The service was fast and my order was taken. My salad came out in a big bowl and it could be tossed in the bowl. Not to bad. The food came out as I was enjoying my salad. Ok. The filet was cooked good but was not hot like off the grill. The beans that came with dinner were like warm at best. Not sure why they were so cool. Bread was good. The place is neat to check out but I do not understand the hype. It was just ok.

When you sign up with their VIP email club you can get a complimentary Tumbleweed Onions appetizer! So yummy!

On the road again, we've always seen the sign off the highway for Cattlemens and have been wanting to give it a try. We've also been watching a lot of Fresh Off The Boat lately where they own a steakhouse called Cattleman's Ranch (formerly known as Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse, Michael Bolton's Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse and Kenny Rogers Michael Bolton's Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse ) So we had a big hankering for some steak We made a reservation the night before and when we got there they knew who we were and were seated really quick upon arrival. I love the decor all around Cattlemens. The woodcarvings of ranch hands have a fun story of their history you can read about right in the front of the restaurant. We were seated in a booth and were greeted by our server who was so nice and friendly. He brought out fresh hot sourdough bread with cold butter that was ready to melt right in! He also brought out a big ol' salad for us to share with each of us getting a lil' gravy boat of a salad dressing of our choosing. When our entrees came out, a cute bucket o' ranch beans came with them. I love all the shareable family style elements to the meal. The hubs and I shared the Porterhouse with a baked potato with all the toppings. It was cooked medium rare so it was perfectly tender and juicy. Our Junior Deputy had a Junior Sirloin with Fries and she gobbled it up with a quickness. Lil' Bro had a T-Bone steak and he took it down like a champ. Everything was well seasoned and delicious! Cattlemens was the cherry to a perfect road trip. Can't wait to pitstop for seconds!

When it came time to eat my chicken piccata.... Things went from ok to awful. I tried a bite of chicken and near gagged. It was cooked in a white wine sauce. This sauce was not cooked well. It tasted and smelled fermented. I could taste the wine intensely and even got a super mild buzz from the one bite I had (low tolerance). I moved onto the pasta and I got the olive oil sauce and what I thought initially was Italian seasonings turned out to be various pepper flakes. I don't do heat well and my mouth was on fire for at least five minutes and my nose even started running. I literally ate two bites off my plate and had to move it to the side. The smell of the wine sauce was so strong even my husband could smell it and it made me feel ill. When the waitress asked what was wrong I explained the pasta was extremely spicy and sauce on the chicken just not good. She asked if I would take it home and I specifically told her no. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no thank you. She proceeded to bring me a box for the food I was never going to touch to take home and a menu. I asked at least 3 times for her to remove the plate and she didn't and had to decline ordering something else 2-3 times. I wouldn't have minded paying for the soup I ate that came with it, but I'm pretty unhappy we paid $25 for an inedible entree because they still charged us for it. Everyone else seemed to think their food was ok or good. But mine was plain awful.

Then the steaks arrive. Monumental. Perfectly seared. Resting with the quiet power of something that knows it is the main character. When I walked in there were a couple people eating in and a couple people doing take out. The girl helping me was pleasant, I was not sure what I wanted, so she gave me a few minutes. Ended up going with the lunch special (personal pizza and a soda) I added a small half green salad, wanted blue cheese, my favorite, but she said they were out, so I went with the Chinese dressing they had. I probably would skip the salad next time unless they had blue cheese. The salad was very basic, I did ask for no cheese on it, but even with that being left off, there was not much too it and the dressing was not what I expected. But I do love salad, with blue cheese it would have been decent. The Pepsi from the machine seemed to have very little carbonation, not the best. Enough with the so, so, what saved it for me was the pizza. The pizza has a thicker crust, a bit chewy, crispy outer crust and a sweet taste to the dough. The personal lunch special comes with five toppings. I got chicken, chopped garlic, tomatoes, spinach and mushroom. She put a nice amount of topping on the pizza and they all tasted very good, fresh and complimented each other nicely. The pizza alone is probably enough for lunch and I did not need the salad, but they just go together. Inside has many booths to sit at, look like there was a bar at one point, but maybe not used any longer, 4 big TV's on the walls playing music and various shows. Go to Rosa's for the pizza, skip the garden salad or opt for one of their other salads, may have more to them and hopefully they get blue cheese back. Enjoy!
