While Bob is a retired minister he has found his second calling as a very accomplished chef! Breakfast each morning is always a cornucopia of choices and delicious flavors. On my most recent visit, I had a very strict dietary restriction. Not only did the Muncy's accommodate my request, they made me the absolutely most delicious gluten-free (I know... ugh!) muffins I've ever eaten... seriously. The Inn is located on a working farm and therefore relatively secluded. Lots of privacy if that's what you seek. However, Bob and Linda are always happy to engage in conversation. They seem genuinely interested in learning about your story. And if you should ever return, they remember details and want to know what has happened in your life since your last visit. The accommodations are comfortable and quaint. This is after all their primary residence. The inn feels lived in but not precious, not stuffy. I highly recommend the Inn for those looking to escape the big city or those who are traveling up and down the East coast and want to explore what Delaware has to offer. Five Stars!

Breakfasts were unbelievable. You have to experience their breakfasts. Robert and Linda are very down to earth and respectful. They made me feel like family. I really can't stand B&B'd that have been too modernized. I had to call to book the reservation as the website requests a call before booking any room that is within 24-48 hours of the date requested. I did and the owner was just wonderful on the phone. I got an instant confirmation via email on my booking, and the day of arrival a quick text message confirming my arrival expectation. I was greeted at the door and Mike saw me in. Don't miss taking time to see Miss Louise, the house feline, who believes everyone is just coming to see her! Mike carried my bags up for me and showed me to Amelia's Room. A nice front room with huge poster bed. The room was so nicely decorated with touches of pink and lace. A large fireplace stood center of the main wall. A full private bath with shower. I snapped pics of the room and sent them to my daughter who promptly replied with "GET THE DOLLS OUT!" lol. If dolls creep you out, just ask Mike to remove them in advance! As mentioned, the room faced the main road and so Mike was kind enough to mention that pulling the blinds down would also require pulling the heavy drapes over to eliminate street lights penetrating. He was right! Each room is given a lock code unique to the occupant - a nice touch. The front door has a code box lock as well, very convenient. The house is amazing, and I am sure I did not see everything while there, even though I walked each of the common rooms. Each is appointed with fantastic antiques and art work. The book collection will astound you if you are a book lover like me. I spent the evening in the 3rd floor lounge, sitting on the sweetest of chaise lounges, reading, while enjoying the quiet of a book filled 1850's home! Mike texted me in the morning to let me know that he would make breakfast for me whenever I was ready. Since i was the only guest for this particular morning, I sat at the kitchen island and had the most wonderful conversation while sipping my choice of tea, juice and fruit cup as Mike made me a delicious omelet. We walked in the garden afterwards and you can see all the love he has put into this home. He does it all himself, and truly makes you feel completely at home. I will absolutely be back to this great house!

We were so charmed by this beautiful, colonial house! the entire house was so well-kept and cared for. Our bedroom was clean and well-stocked and the bed was so cozy! The innkeepers are some of the nicest people we ever met, so accommodating and friendly. The setup for HOMEMADE breakfast in the dining room was beautiful (and it was as delicious as it looked, maybe even moreso!) they have an adorable little Corgi named Lucy (don't worry they keep her in their living quarters. My bf and I are dog lovers so we asked if we could see her. Otherwise she wouldn't be in the house.) We had such a fantastic time at The Governor's! They made our first bed and breakfast experience an unforgettable one and it is the standard at which we will hold all bed and breakfasts from now on. We cannot wait to go back!!

It's my first one with him in my life :) I was blown away when we walked up to the main house, toured inside of ours, had tea, a cozy night and breakfast. He breakfast was nithing shoet of amazing! The star was the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast casserole - like OMG insanely delicious!!! I kind of had three servings! Many other perfect choices too, like English muffins, fruit, yogurt, granola). Our room is done in dark reds and boasts cherrywood. Also, beautiful prints and furniture. We had a romantic evening with the jacuzzi, (gas) fireplace and cloud cozy King sized bed! Stellar service from all - Sam and Amanda in particular. They do A LOT here! We MAY leave the room today, lol. Walking Washington Street is a possibility. MAYBE the Zoo... This was our first visit to this charming B&B and it was truly a positive & memorable experience. It's located within the heart of Cape May, so walking distance to a myriad of restaurants and shops and only one block from the beach. The amenities are unbeatable - beach cruiser bikes, beach chairs and towels, lots of outdoor porches to relax on and read, and an outdoor shower. The breakfasts are delicious (we had an egg/cheese entree with ham the first day & a stuffed French toast with sausage patty the 2nd day) The daily morning and afternoon baked goods were delicious (especially the assorted breads with homemade strawberry jam!) The owners (Doug & AnnaMarie) are extremely warm and welcoming and go above and beyond & to ensure every guest felt safe during the COVID pandemic (great social distancing, mask awareness, plastic shields as needed & hand sanitizer). A well stocked 24 hr kitchen with plentiful bottled water as well. Lots of extras that you don't find in other B&Bs. They also immediately alerted us when my wife left her pocketbook behind at breakfast. You can tell that the management truly cares about making this place a great experience for their guests without cutting any corners. It's truly a beautiful property with lots of outdoor space and charming rooms each unique & all very well-maintained, extremely clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing but wonderful things to say about the Queen Victoria & we hope to be back again soon!

I got there around 3:30 PM and there was no one there to help us check in. However, on the way I was told everything I needed to know to get in through the main door and into the room. There is a small private lot to park in plus the street is free for parking next to the building. I do not know if that becomes an issue in peak season but at least it wasn't a worry for now. The common area is super nice. It feels like being home. There was white and red wine out and soft drinks in the common fridge as well. The room itself was surprisingly large and comfortable. Everything was in place for a great stay - ample towels in the bathroom, instructions for everything including where to place used glasses and so on. Waking up breakfast was being made for any guests that wanted it. Banana pancakes with bacon and some grapefruit. It was nice to smell those smells before coming down to experience it! The only frustrating part was the initial booking. Since the single night could not be reserved online I needed to call. I was never able to call and get a person immediately. I always needed to leave a voicemail and wait for them to get back to me. Though I cannot say it was a big deal, it still does make for a bit of a hitch if you are trying to make last minute plans.
