A lovely, happy hour was set out mid-afternoon and remained available through the evening, and breakfast--along with the freshly brewed coffee--was perfect. Marie and Diane made us feel like family rather than guests. This was our first visit to Lewes, as we usually go to the Jersey Shore, so we changed things up by driving to Cape May and taking the ferry over. Overall, it was a perfect getaway.

Hear me out with this review:…read more I have never stayed in a Bed & Breakfast house before and when I was initially trying to book somewhere to stay in Rehoboth Beach this was the first place suggested. The house contains rooms with private bathrooms and rooms on a floor with shared bathrooms. I was very hesitant to book at first when I read that I would have to "share" a bathroom. We just returned home after a 4 night stay here and we were more than satisfied! Tom, the house owner, is super kind, personable and hospitable. His other workers (Rayvn and Chris) are also so helpful and always get you what you need. You can request to have breakfast in the morning from a menu selection and they bring you your food out at the time you request to have it ready for you . Tom always came and checked up on us wherever we were sitting during breakfast to chat about random things, show us his puppy and ask us if we wanted more food or needed anything. The room we stayed in had a shared bathroom in the hallway (we stayed on the 2nd floor and other rooms shared 2 full baths and a half bath with us) and it was actually very clean. The staff did a good job replenishing towels each day and cleaning the shower/toilet/sink. Felt very comfortable here. We would love to try a room with a private bathroom (it was so booked up when we tried to get one initially so book way in advance!) I love that the beach was only a 4 minute walk and access to the main streets was only an alley walk away from the house. No complaints at all after this stay. When we sat out on the porch each morning and night, many people would walk by making comments about how pretty and interesting the establishment was. The interior of the house smells super good and is clean. Highly recommend staying here! Overall 5/5 stars and we will definitely be back next year

This faded quickly at the entry level with a strong smell of wet dog, followed by no cooling on the interior. The pictures on the internet are dated and things are cluttered now. The room I booked was not the room held, but since it was a weekday I could have my pick of the 3 front rooms, none of them the one I booked (?). The room was clean and there was AC that, when turned On, over time cooled the room down. During the night I was awakened by the heat and found the AC was not cycling On unless the ceiling fan was On (?). There are plentiful sugary and baked goods snacks and soda in the breakfast room for anytime. The fresh fruit though was over or under ripe. The morning coffee was not hot. Breakfast did happen and I was able to enjoy a wide selection of melon and berries with yogurt that was put out buffet style. The eggs requested, came pretty much as desired. The first morning I found out the free bike option was no longer available. I must have read about bikes in the reviews but now find they are no longer available in the fine print of the booking. My pleasure in staying here always fell short. I would have enjoyed a cookie cutter motel as much. I suppose I wanted the accommodation to be as attentive as the decor pictured. This was our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast, and it completely exceeded our expectations. One of the biggest highlights was how pet-friendly the property is. As pet parents, it can be difficult to find places where our fur baby is truly welcomed, and Lazy L made us feel right at home. It was so nice to be able to travel and enjoy the experience together as a family. The location is perfect, just about 10 minutes from town. The town itself is absolutely charming, with plenty of great restaurants, shops, and a welcoming atmosphere. We especially appreciated how pet-friendly the town was as well. The property has a huge backyard area where dogs can run and play. Looking back, I wish we had spent even more time out there with our pup. There are bugs, ticks, and fleas in the natural outdoor areas, so I recommend bringing bug spray and tick/flea protection for both yourself and your pets. If you forget, don't worry! The property is equipped with supplies for guests. We also enjoyed the pool and had a great time kayaking during our stay. Another highlight was taking our dog to Lewes Beach, which allows dogs after 6:30 PM. It worked out perfectly since the sun didn't set until around 8 PM. We stayed until about 9 PM, enjoying the beautiful sunset and the cooler evening temperatures, which made it much more comfortable for our fur baby. The breakfasts were delicious and something we looked forward to each morning. Most importantly, the hosts were amazing. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to making sure guests have a wonderful experience. We had such an incredible stay that we're already planning our next trip. In fact, I think this may become our annual summer getaway. We highly recommend Lazy L to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming, and pet-friendly escape.

The owner said she buys extermination supplies and does it herself but never professionally hires out to have her retreat exterminated. I told her she needs to professionally exterminate for bedbugs. While the owner is pleasant, the right protocol needs to be done. I had an allergic reaction from the bedbugs, had to go to the emergency room twice, I was put on high dose steroids, and still under Doctor's care, and still suffering from what occurred.

I think in the off season they could reduce the price a bit to entice customers to stay here. The location is great as it's close enough for us to the beach but still a hike if you don't want to walk like a mile.

It is about 2 blocks from the boardwalk, in the middle of everything, so the location could not have been better. There is also free parking on site, which made life so much easier. The staff was super helpful and super friendly. They let us park and use the pool before our room was ready. The hotel is older and a bit dated in some ways, such as having only 1 elevator for the entire building, however, the room was recently and thoughtfully redone and was also huge. There is also a rooftop deck, which is a great spot for drinks, corn hole, or people watching. We will definitely be back.

It's across the canal from downtown Lewes and a few blocks away from the Lewes public beach. I was there before Memorial Day weekend. Their busy season had not started, yet. Staff was scarce and typically only available during the day. There wasn't anyone staffing the front desk in the evenings or throughout the night. What was surprising is that the hotel had me pay for my entire stay upfront, and not just registering me with my AMEX card. I was a bit surprised that they required that. I don't think I have had a hotel / motel require full payment upfront. I don't know if this is their usual practice. Room price was competitive for a touristy beach location. For amenities, the have an outdoor pool and lounging deck located on the second floor. Otherwise, fairly basic hotel. They did not offer a continental breakfast, but did have fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning. There weren't coffee makers in the rooms. Hotel has an inviting beach decor, but is dated. In fact, they were replacing carpets in the lobby when I was there. I was a bit surprised when I came down in the morning and found lobby area closed off. The installers did not appreciate that I walked through, but they also didn't leave me much choice. Staff were friendly when I crossed paths with them. Housekeeping only entered and cleaned my room once through the week. I was okay with that, as I didn't need much for the week. I did have to ask for additional soap and shampoo and they graciously provided it. My room was comfortable and clean. The wall air conditioning unit was quite noisy. I wouldn't be opposed to staying here, if back in the area in the future. Just a basic hotel, located near most of what Lewes offers and a reasonable price.
