The Hampton Inn Milford was great for a two night stay. The room was spacious. Breakfast was provided in the morning and they have both hot and cold options. Hot tea and coffee appeared to be available 24 hours in the lobby. Everyone that assisted was helpful and friendly. There is parking available in the parking lot which was a plus because many hotels only have valet parking. read more

we stayed 2 nights at the brand new Hampton Inn in Milford.... only its not brand new, just incredibly well remodeled. Beds , linens , towels were all new and bright ! The staff is over the top friendly and attentive. The breakfast is standard H.I.fare, but the area was kept very clean. They serve Dinner on Wednesday evening ! The pool was clean and refreshing, and the exercise equipment was top tier, and also clean ( disposable earbuds available in the room for no charge) One of the best Hampton Inns I have stayed at. read more

Bedbug infestation. Towels had random dirty stains on them and splatter markings on walls indicated there was no attention to detail by the cleaning crew. To make matters worse, the fire alarms decided to go off at around 5:30 A.M. and continued to stay on for the next 15-20 minutes while the alarm lights flashed in the room. Never again. read more

Checked in and everything was great! Super friendly staff, very helpful. The night crew is by all means the best. When checking out on 8/15 the guy at the reception area/check in wasn't helpful at all. My son misplaced our car key. So I asked if there was a lost and found he quickly looked at me as if I had 6 heads and no, we don't have that here. I said seriously? He then looks at my son and me and says i haven't found anything. Not helpful at all. Asked if we could have a late check out in order to search the room and finally said sure. I mean with the amount of money I paid for two days, I don't see what the problem would be. Guess where we won't be coming to next yr? read more

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Milford Delaware. I don't normally take the time to write reviews but this time I had to and hope it will deter other potential guests from choosing this hotel. I made my reservation online through the Hilton Honors app. The app offered the option to pick your own room and indicate your check in time. I thought this was a great option. I picked a second floor room at the front of the hotel where i had a clear view of the parking lot and a 3:00 check in time. We were traveling with bikes and I wanted to be able to keep an eye on them. Ww arrived a little early and the room I requested was not ready so we waited in the lobby until it was, no big deal. When they said our room was ready it turned out they changed my room, not the room I selected. If they had selected a similar room close to the one i selected it would have been ok. Instead they put us in a room at the back of the hotel with a view of nothing but the wall along the roof over the pool. I had to go back to the desk and get that resolved. I also chose to use the digital key option in the app. It worked ok but would only work on my phone so I had to get a key card for my partner. However once I used the digital key it somehow disabled the key card and she got locked out of the room. That is a system that is not ready for prime time. We always choose hotels with a pool, which this one did have. It was open on Sunday night after we checked in but was then closed until Wednesday night, so we paid for a hotel with a pool we could not use. Every morning when the cleaning staff started work it was more like they were partying in the hallways. They congregated in groups talking loudly, banging doors, having a great time, and of course waking up everyone on the floor. I understand now why it takes them so long to get the rooms ready, a lot of talking, not a lot of cleaning going on. When we got into our room we had to clean the shower walls, that were covered in long black hairs. The breakfast was ok, typical for a free hotel breakfast and would have been ok except for having to look at the dead flies on the floor and counter. I have used Hampton hotels a lot but after this experience I don't plan on using them again, and will never stay in this particular hotel and hope this review will serve as a warning to others. I will also think twice before staying in any Hilton owned hotel in the future. read more

We were quoted one price over the phone to include small dog. Upon arrival we were charged a more expensive rate. The man at the desk could have cared less that we had the name of the female who quoted us the price. Later that evening he was gone and she was there and again told us we would be charged the rate she quoted. We received our bill in the morning and were charged the more expensive rate. We went to the front desk again and the rude man was back and couldn't have been ruder. Also people with dogs should know that the charge is $50.00 for 2 large dogs and it is the same for small dogs. We have an 18 pound little dog and were charged the same fee as having 2 large dogs. This is hardly equal. So the price quoted to us over the phone was increased on arrival and the dog fee is unfair. I will say our room was decent and if not for all the discrepancies we would have returned But will no longer use this hotel. read more

We actually moved from this town a couple years ago but, our stay at the Hampton Inn there left us completely appalled! Despite advertising having cribs and confirming this when I called them in advance, the Hampton Inn does NOT have cribs but, simply cheap, broken pack n plays with terribly separated panels that would be unsafe to have an infant sleep on. Additionally, had we needed the crib for our almost 2 year old who normally sleeps in a crib still, she greatly exceeds the weight limit for the pack n play. Luckily, I was able to squeeze the small bench between the bed and wall for our 4 month old to sleep on, as I was sick and too weak to have him sleep with me, as I would normally do, in a pinch. The room was on the small side but not overwhelmingly so. The bathroom had nice furniture but, a very small tub (smaller than our cramped apartment, even!) and was very cold. The beds are a mixed review (I liked it but, hubby hated it). Bedding was nice and the furniture was appealing but, those are the only good things I can say about the room. The radio and freezer didn't work (baby's bottle bag was in it for more than 8 hours and was barely cold, let alone remotely frozen). The TV remote was difficult but, eventually worked, with force. The window was very drafty (thank God we weren't paying the electric bill since the heater ran all night). In the morning, my husband found an unidentified bug in his bed (we made sure to get a picture). The parking lot was beyond bizarre, offering closer spots for Hilton members than for Handicapped persons, who were shunned to the end of the parking lot! The continental breakfast was a joke. Not only was the variety extremely slim pickins but, they had a college baseball team staying the same night and didn't prepare enough food so they actually RAN OUT of most items. We opted to go elsewhere to eat, after grabbing a box of cereal (the only gluten-free option we saw) and a badly bruised banana for our toddler. My biggest complaints began around 4am, when I began getting woken up by the conversation in the next room. Mind you, they weren't yelling or even raising their voices, simply talking. By 6am, I could hearing WALKING (not running or playing) in the hallway. Even the employee at check-out confirmed that the walls are paper thin. It very much seems that when the building burned down during construction, they put as little money as possible into rebuilding! The redeeming quality for Hampton Inn (not this location though) is that they have the 100% Hampton Guarantee and comp'd our horrible room! Thank you, Hampton! We will absolute stay at Hampton Inn again but, definitely not this one! read more

This is place has gone down. They don't care about their customers because of the demand for hotels close to beach. We stayed over the weekend and at first glance all was well. But after the deodorant faded ewe was left with a vomit odor filled room. The air conditioner smelled moldy. We inspected where the smell was coming from it was the fridge which was filthy. The tiles in floor had black stains and we actually had stains on our sheets. The hallways were dirty and the hotel was turned I to a romper room. Kids could be heard running up and down the hallways so much until another customer called the police because the hotel staff said they couldn't do anything about kids. If you stay here plan on bringing your own cleaning supplies. read more

We came down and stayed from June 20-22, 2023 for a lacrosse tournament. Renee at the front desk is worth her weight in gold! Not only did she help us navigate wet lacrosse uniforms and equipment to get it dried for the next days tournament, but my son left his lacrosse stick in the room and she personally went down and located it - while I was on a brief hold- and had it waiting at the front desk to be picked up. Room: Clean - clean room, clean linen, clean eveything. Bed - good, pretty firm, I like firm. Noise / walls - super thin wall. Can hear everything your neighbors are doing, talking, watching tv, etc. Bring earplugs. Entrance doors tend to slam REALLY loud. Super annoying when ppl going in and out of their rooms A/C only able to set auto temp between 65 to 75F, or just turn it off. 78 is optimal for me so I was very cold and couldn't make it warmer. They do have an extra blanket in the closet. Lobby: Coffee - disgusting. I got the dark kind w breakfast. It's like hot water with a hint of coffee. Go with their tea. But they don't keep the tea packs filled. Cookies - m&m cookies were DELICIOUS. Crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Very well done! read more

We were gathered here for a funeral. The staff were all very accommodating and kind. The rooms were very clean and there was never an issue about something we needed in the room. We were able to gather in the "cafe" as a group without any trouble. There was even feminine products in the bathroom near the gym. I haven't seen that in decades!! It's a little inconvenient to get to because you have to pass it and come back around, but Google maps directed us without confusion. read more

Completely adequate, I checked in around 9:30 and stayed only 12 hours. Staff was very nice and had my room key ready and waiting. Bed was comfortable and room clean. Blowdryer however didn't work and kept shorting out. Complimentary breakfast was standard and I liked my oatmeal. Kept hitting the coffee bar for refills while working in the am. First, the good - The hotel is nice and new, and the rooms were good sized and fairly well appointed. One staff member was great, pointing us to a lunch place nearby that we never would have found otherwise. It's one of very few hotels approaching the beaches that allows a one night stay, so that was really nice. It's still expensive given its location, but at least we didn't have to waste money on a two-night stay. Then, the not good - It's a bit difficult to find, as you have to go down an access road with a No Outlet sign. Iffy at best customer service. - First desk person we encountered was quite rude, insisting we come back after 3PM for check in. - Second desk person, not even an hour later, was very polite and helpful and got us into our room. She even pointed us to the Abbott Grill down the street for lunch. - Pillows requested at 2PM never showed up. When I called at 11PM to ask again, I got a dismissive, "well the hotel's full but I'll see if I can find one." I never got the pillows. NO HOT WATER. We were there to run a 5K nearby, and when we got back to the hotel room at 11AM there was only ice cold water in the shower. I complained on my way out, but the room had already been charged to my credit card so there wasn't much the man at the desk could do. He claims he'll pass on my comments to management and someone will call me, but there's no manager on duty for four days for some reason. read more

Hotel seems to be new so everything is I good condition. Cons: Hiden from main road. Handicapped parking in odd location. I LOVE this hotel. I am a huge fan of brand new hotels. As someone who travels 3 nights/week on average, a nice-smelling, brand new hotel cannot be beat. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is very typical to most Hampton Inns - affordable, clean, free internet, good value with a nice complimentary breakfast. My only complaint about the hotel is that it's in the middle of nowhere - you can't walk to any businesses or to dinner. Hopefully the area will be built up compared to the rest of Milford (which is small to begin with). I do love the tv and the selection of tv channels (including Bravo - what a treat!) If I visited the area more often, I would stay at this hotel more. It's one of my favorite Hampton Inns, hands-down. read more

Awesome hotel! Looks brand new, it's clean, free breakfast buffet, great customer and guest service! The people at the front desk are extremely nice and informative with things to do in the area. The only thing is this hotel seems to be a little hidden from the main road and sitting almost on it's own. It is not near or next to anything like supermarket, stores, businesses, etc... This hotel is just 30 minutes away from Rehoboth Beach which is far enough away from the hustle and bustle at the beach, but close enough to go spend a few hours or a day at the beach. Can't say whether or not it's the best place to stay in Milford because i haven't been anywhere else in Milford, BUT... i doubt i'll go test waters elsewhere when the water is perfectly great here. read more

Wonderful hotel!!Nice, clean, and tastful room, flat TV, free breakfast buffet, free drink bar, tea, coffee, you name it,,,etc... Non smoking king bed room $92 for two of us!! People are very nice!! Specially, a housekeeping lady, April, kept our room so clean!! James gave us two bottles of water and snack bars, when we checked inn, because my husband told him about our long drive from Virginia Beach. And he gave us a great choice of Italian restaurant near the hotel! Ladies at breakfast serving area kindly taught me how to cook pancake/waffule?? and put plastic wrap on my left over plate. We want to do Hampton Inn Hopping trip all over the U.S., when my husband retires. Our stay was way beyond our expectation. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating and it was close to the DE turf complex. I give 4 stars because it is a bit tricky to find the way to it from the main road. Awesome staff, very clean room, plenty of food at breakfast including fruit,etc. our family stayed with 3 billion other baseball families over a weekend. Hotel staff hustled to help me out. Staff was diverse including one young lady with a disability. All worked hard to to keep up with dirt and demands of teenage boys. Heads up. Stayed here in 9/2017. During the night wife woke up and noticed a small bug in the bed. After further investigating we noticed quite a few bed bugs in both beds. Needless to say we all jumped up and ran downstairs to tell the night auditor. He offered to give us another room. I guess to watch a bed bug race in another room. They gave us garbage bags so we could put our clothes in it and gave us directions to a laundromat. We then left to find another room in another hotel. Ruined our vacation. They never followed up with a phone call by a manager. Only reason they get 1 star was to post this warning. read more

The hotel is fairly new and exceptionally clean, and as previous reviews state, it's "out in the boonies." if you enter their Lighthouse Road address in your GPS, you wind up in an unsavory looking fish camp. We called the hotel and they advised to enter "800 Carpenter Pit Road which got us in the direction but The road is unlit and unpaved. Upon arrival at about 5:45 PM we were told the room was not ready and the desk clerk actually asked that We "come back later because the housekeepers were behind schedule." This not being acceptable since our reservation was made in advance with a 3 PM check in. After about 5 - 8 minutes of persistence, the clerk "offered a room that was being held for another guest." Personally, I found this disturbing because we thought "a room was to be held for us as well." I would stay again however I will insist that my room is ready at a reasonable hour and without question upon arrival. Hampton Inn update your address on the website before your guests become "chum" down at the fish camp. read more

My family of 6 stayed 4 days in your hotel and we were very satisfied with the staff, cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel it self. Each morning we attend the free breakfast. The breaksfast was ok, not the greatest but my six year old and four year old had a great time pick their own juices, bagels, sausage patties and of course the waffle island, which came with a variety of toppings to chose from. The pool was nice. It was indoors but my kids didn't mind, they wore them self out. I enjoyed my stay and will return if I'm the area again. read more

I have been to many Hamptons but this location is very new and so beautiful! the staff was so friendly from the front desk to the breakfast staff, they definitely make you feel like you are at home and a part of their family. Why where we charged a higher rate on the weekend than what is normally quoted rate of $106 and we where charged $259? The breakfast was terrible with watered down juices and scrambled eggs that tasted like cardboard. The place was advertised as being on a river with close by restaurants, all lies! It sits in the middle of a big field. False advertising never empresses anyone. If the person's running this hotel are running some sort of scam then someone needs to over see their operation first hand. I would never waste my money there again. read more

Upon entering our room we found hair in the shower, mold on the shower doors and walls. The shower door was badly stained and also the frame was falling apart. We returned one evening to find housekeeping didn't even enter our room. We advised the front desk of all the issues with the room, and informed them we would never return to the hotel. The person behind the desk advised us they didn't like to have guests unhappy and would send maintenance to fix the issues. Maintenance never showed up.. We are AAA members and they give this hotel a three diamond raining. We will be informing them of how terrible this hotel is. And like other reviews, yes people are constantly talking loudly in the hallway and people sit right outside the door on the steps smoking forcing us to walk around them. The price may be attractive for this hotel but look elsewhere as I will be telling family and friends not to stay here. read more
