Until they get more staff (there a big sign in window that they are hiring)... I would avoid. Cleaned my own table (outdoor so it had bird poop and a few days worth tons of dried sauces on it)... woman's bathroom was gross, trash overflowing in main restaurant, windows smeared with handprints. It was super cold inside... so we ate outside. I was the only sucker to get the salmon, husband ordered it for me in line... if I had seen it I would've changed my order. Boys got the Greek chicken pitas... they liked them. But I don't want to eat here ever again. Seemed pretty popular though... maybe a bad day? (Thursday 06/04 at 6-6:30 pm). Birthday dinner with my youngest (well, their birthday was in the Fall, but I gave them play tickets, so we meet beforehand to eat together.) They are vegetarian, but try to find places that can accommodate their carnivorous dad. Cava was tonight's attempt. Looking like so many "order down the bar" places, Cava has bowls or pitas that you can customize, or some pre-planned specials you can choose. The folks behind the counter are patient and helped this noob to choose a protein (chicken, lamb, beef, several veggie options), a few sauces (tzatziki, baba ghanouj, hummus, etc) and some add-ons (pickled onions, peppers, etc). The bowls can also start out with lettuce or grains as a base. I choose the lamb, tzatziki, baba ghanouj, and some pickled onions, cukes, olives and whole knows what else. It was a cornucopia of flavors! The pita was thick, the flavors intense. My dining partner liked their choices as well. There are no alcoholic drinks, but a strong ginger beer made me believe I was having a Moscow Mule! They have a lot of interesting sodas in their fountain - check it out. Not the usual cola, orange, etc. Once you've queued around the room getting your food and drink, you wind up in the central area where rows of 2- and 4- top tables allow for indoor dining. A few outside tables allow for eating on the sidewalk, but the wind and rain took that off our menu. There was only one drawback, but it's not really a bad thing, just a personal preference: when building a wrap with marinated ingredients, you need to drain them before putting them on. I had to go back and get a to-go lid after soaking through a dozen napkins. It was tasty, but really messy! Trying a bowl next time. I went to the gent's to wash up, and noticed that there was a puddle beside the toilet, and a distinct urine smell. My dining partner also stepped away, and came back with a similar report from the ladies' room. Mid-day mopping may be in order! read more

You know. This place is so very good. I love the Pita Chips. But everytime that I order online something always get messed up no lie. Today, I ordered 3 different chicken bowl, 2 of them were the exact same. they sent 1 with steak. I don't do beef and the other 2 were correct . Another time I ordered quite a bit of Pita chips and with my order, I'm talking like a total of 6 orders of pita chips, and only rec'd 1. Another time things were left off of my bowl. All I ask is that you go over the order before you seal the deal. make sure everything is correct. It can't be that hard. For food to be as good and not cheap might i add, you would think that the effort would be made to make sure that the order is correct. Do a triple check before releasing. We are already happy because it is good, make us happier by making sure all that is ordered is provided. I will give it one more time after that I am done. read more

I ordered through the app for pickup and added a bag and utensils to my order. When I arrived, it was just a bowl sitting on the pickup shelf, so I had to bag it myself. Fine. Whatever. But then I was reprimanded by someone behind the counter because I dared to grab a bag myself off the top shelf of the pickup shelves. She angrily told me the bags were fragile and I needed to ask a cashier to bag it for me. She didn't seem to care that the cashier was taking orders from a line of more than a dozen people almost out the door. I told her I did include instructions for a bag and utensils specifically in my order. She grabbed my bowl and bagged it for me and handed it back. No utensils. So I asked her for utensils. She dismissively pointed to the other side of the restaurant and said utensils are over there. What's the point of specifying bags and utensils in the app if management is so disorganized that they ignore specific options listed in their app? Am I supposed to bag it myself or not? Apparently not? Am I supposed to get my own utensils or not? Apparently so? Be better. I noticed a door dash driver got his order all bagged up and sealed with a sticker. I'm a big Cava fan and this was my first time at this location. I came at 1 pm on a weekday and the staff seemed rather busy, looked like they were refilling lettuce and cups at the same time! It took about 2 minutes for an employee to get my bowl started. But they got everything together quickly and it turned out fantastic. The cashier didn't hear me say I wanted a fountain drink, so I didn't get charged, but not the biggest deal in the world. I'm sure I'll be back, just because I like the franchise. read more

I don't frequent Cameron Village much due to the terrible parking situation and it feels really bougie to me. Since my friend drove, it was fine. I'd heard good things about CAVA. Because it's primarily a "make your own" style restaurant it takes a while to get through the line. You could tell the employees were working hard to keep things moving, however. I opted for the greens and grain bowl and added toppings like their cucumber tomato mix, pickled onions (my favorite), feta, fire grilled corn, and grilled meatballs as my protein. I always ask for the sauces on the side so I can try them first, and the cilantro dressing was the winner. It had a little kick to it. The sweet tea was on point. read more

Cava on Daniels St can be pretty busy during the day and it can definitely be hard to find parking in the plaza but after having a bowl there I can see why most people go there on lunch. I started my bowl with brown rice and for my proteins I went with a mix of spicy lamb meatballs along with falafel meatballs (heads up, this meatball includes wheat & soy). Next you have the luxury of adding dips or spreads in which they give you a choice of 3 out of 6 to add to you bowl, so I chose tzatziki (taste similar to sour cream), traditional hummus and red pepper hummus. After that, I chose crumbled feta, red onions, with chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. To complete my bowl I had garlic dressing on the side with some pita bread. The bowl was pretty good. The spicy lamb meatballs are delicious. I'm not a big fan of the falafel meatballs and it could be because of the texture or ingredients used to make them but nonetheless they still got ate. Since I had a few meatballs I decided to cut them up to have more protein for the bowl. Everything else was good, no complaints. Fresh hummus, vegetables and the pita bread was soft which was a place. I'd definitely check Cava out again to explore their featured bowls and other meals. read more

Unfortunately, I visited this CAVA location for a second time to give them a second opportunity. They will not receive a third. The Cameron Village location was an interesting experience for me as a black woman. The black people behind the counter do not like their own kind or they know something we do not. My favorite location is the one on Falls of the Neuse because they do not give you just a single spoon of toppings. You get a healthy mix of everything to give you the full and true experience CAVA was designed for. If you are a black woman and visited the Cameron Village location, save your money and go to the Falls of the Neuse location and you will understand the buzz about CAVA. It truly is a great experience when you get the portions without judgement. I hope they decide to do better in Cameron Village. This place left me full and the staff provided some great suggestions. Great staff at this location. Cava is quickly becoming one of my favorite fast-casual restaurants! The food is always fresh and the staff is friendly. We stopped by this location while visiting my sister in Raleigh. It lived up to the other locations I have been to. I appreciate how clean it was. My go-to meal is the greens and grains bowl with harissa honey chicken. I'm not typically a spicy foods person, but it is a level I can handle. I love to mix up the toppings so the taste always varies-but in a good way so I'm never bored with it. A MUST is adding the pita crisps! I also always get extra tzatiki. Their juices are incredible too! Although I miss Zoey's, I have enjoyed Cava just as much. I'm just not a fan of falafal-- My pulled my by the beard insisting that I come with her and try this new spot out in Raleigh. I went only because she forced me. After this meal hit my taste buds I can honestly say this is one of my favorite spots in Raleigh! Parking here can be a task during certain hours as they share parking with neighboring businesses. The decor is edgy! I love the nice clean yellow and black. The furniture is all nice and clean and so is the facility in general. Enough with the chitchat... the FOOD - so yes back to the meal that i was forced to try. You guys, I'm not kidding you when I say the food is amazing! I grabbed a super greens and grain bowl and added everything they could fit in that bowl. I then topped it off with some dressings. The veggies and the grains are so yummy. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the meal just rocked my day! If you are a meatless eater, you'll find lots of awesome options here. I love CAVA. My first time was in DC, with my daughter, and I so wished we had one in Charleston. Recently have been spending a lot of time in Raliegh so I was excited to find one near by. It was just as deliciously tasty as I remembered. The concept is simular to a Moes style restaurant, but Mediterranean. Base of greens, lentils, brown rice or other options. Proteins in the form of meats, beans, falafel...the lamb is very good in both ways they serve it, but the honey harissa chicken was extra tasty. Then there are salad toppers like tabouli, onion/tomato, quinoa . Again, too many to name...and there are dressings...which I've not tried...so much goodness already. Lots of choices with hummus, tzatziki, bhabaganoosh, and my fave, harissa. A very, very spicy Mediterranean condiment. Chatting with the server that helped to fill my bowl, he said Charleston may be on the owners radar, as he moves down the southern coast....this makes me so happy!!!! read more

Honestly this im very upset right now. When i was ordering the staff was rude and rushing me for no reason it wasnt even busy. They weren't using their portions correctly and when i would ask for a little more i would also get attitude. BUT to top everything off since they were in such a rush they give me a completely wrong order so now i won't even be able to eat my food. The manager needs to have a discussion with their workers because this isn't the first time i've received attitude for no reason just because the workers are having a bad day. I've eaten here twice and both times it has been delicious. The one in cameron village was super speedy in getting us our food. I got a salad/grain bowl with chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, corn, tomatoes and onions, hummus, and feta cheese with the garlic sauce. If I could give a negative 10, I would. The manager, Amber is hands down the rudest and most obnoxious person I have ever come across in a restaurant. My 18 yr son asked for a side pita with his meal (this is a complimentary small piece of pita). She told him you don't get one with your meal. He responded very politely, that we always go to the Cava in North Raleigh and they've always done it without ever asking. She proceeded to yell and said, that's that store and this is my store. He asked another employee because she was so rude, and when she saw him, she screamed at him from across the restaurant and said, 'didn't I tell you it doesn't come with your food'! I called the restaurant to speak with her and she hung up on me. I can't believe this person works there, let alone is a manager. It's mind boggling!
