My friend brought over takeout from CAVA last week and I was very impressed! This place is like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle, but better. We both got a Harissa honey chicken grain bowl with basmati rice. You're able to choose your base, dips/spreads, protein, and toppings. I would absolutely order from here again. This is the most deplorable Cava I have ever been to. The staff members are incredibly rude. They locked the doors during the lunch hour to not allow anymore customers, and the restaurant was no where close to being at capacity. The most deplorable of all, people with allergens rely on Cava to have safe practices as the claim. However, I watched a staff member pick up a pita (gluten), and then use their HAND (not the tongs) to get the lettuce, thus contaminating it. If I hadn't seen him do that and had eaten my bowl, I would've been extremely sick. I would absolutely NOT recommend this Cava to anyone, but it is especially unsafe for anyone with allergens and dietary restrictions. read more

Located in Cameron Village, where Noodles & Company used to be. The store was pretty busy during lunch time, but the line kept moving and there was a minimal wait. They have an assembly line of food options, very similar to subway or chipotle but with very healthy choices. I had a mix of their greens and grains with falafel. The pita (side with your bowl), falafel, saffron rice, and hummus were good! I had tried the yogurt dill as my dressing, but I didn't like it with my combo...but this is the beauty with fast casual dining! You just try something different next time; the options are endless. Great addition to Cameron Village! My only real feedback is the last time I went in I was trying to navigate an allergy and the employee manning the counter was not friendly or patient. Besides that issue the food was great! I like how many toppings and sauces you can add and the protein options are delicious. I'm not super into lamb, but that braised lamb looked really delicious. I went with good old chicken and was not disappointed. Pro tip, if there is a crazy line order through the app. I did that on a previous visit and it worked out beautifully if you already know what you want. I did the mini pita with a soup which was good, but the soup had a bit too much of a kick for me. I love their drink lineup from Maine Sodas to the fresh tea and lemonade options it is hard to chose. Parking isn't too bad on this side of Cameron Village, but if you are meeting people I'd give yourself a few extra minutes to find a spot. read more

Hands down some of the best food in the area! My family and I enjoyed our dinner there tonight. Upon driving 40 minutes on the way home, I noticed my phone was missing. I accidentally left it in the restroom at CAVA. As it is close to Christmas and we have three children, I immediately panicked thinking of the idea to purchase a new iPhone. However, I called the store and Amber tracked down my cell phone. Once I arrived back to the restaurant I tried to reward her for finding my phone. She refused to allow me to do so. Honestly.... i just moved here and have been trying to find a good spot to eat. Cava exceeded my expectations immediately , even before I tasted the delicious food. From walking in and entering the lively, happy atmosphere to interaction with the employees. I was pleasantly surprised to see it set up as a "build your own meal" kinda like a healthier Chipotle. We actually had the district manager preparing out meals. He was so kind and helpful. I mentioned that we had never been here before and just moved here. he instantly made me feel welcomed! He offered the food on the house as a welcome to the area. Let me tell you. Our first visit to Cava located in Cameron Village at the end space where Noodles and Company most recently occupied. This place offers you endless choice combinations from bowls of greens, grains, greens and grains, pitas and soup. Plenty of choices for what type of greens, grains, dips and spreads (pick 3)proteins (1), toppings (as many as you want), a dressing and beverages you'd like. Basically you're likely to love what you ordered because you build it yourself. I experimented with spicy lamb balls on a bed of greens (splendid greens) and grains (black lentils) and lots of toppings. The lamb balls are spicy! I found my meal really tasty and very satisfying. Hubby did not care for his falafel. It had huge, probably whole chick peas in them, not ground up like he's used to and to him they were bland. The rest of his bowl was very good. Iced tea is five stars and drink options from Maine Root appear to be healthier options than the more chemical filled mass marketed soft drinks. No alcohol if you're wondering. Not much is dessert offerings either--only cookies. Another plus, they seem concerned about the environment and have recycling beside the land full trash. They use real dishes and silverware. Although our forks were plastic, knives were reusable silverware. Perhaps customers bussing their own tables lands much silver in one of the two trash cans. read more

3/25 on my birthday! The grand opening!!! I love this place. I went to my first cava in Washington DC. Then I went to the location in Chapel Hill. That's when I ran into Chris, the area manager, and he told us that this location was opening. They gave out free lunch and dinner. I brought my family and ran into Chris again! We were introduced to the manager, Ricky. He is the sweetest, nicest guy! All of the staff are very well trained and they are super knowledgeable on the menu. The food - 100 stars!!! This is basically like a Mediterranean chipotle. Walk up and build your bowl. If you don't know, ask the staff. I can wait to come back. On a scale of Boone's Farm to Dom Pérignon, Cava bubbles to the top of the "food bowl" movement. Stumbled up the grand opening as I had stopped into Cameron Village to look at another shop. Lucked right into a FREE FOOD kick-off event. It's everything you expect a bowl to be: 1. A choice of bases: various individual lettuces or a couple combinations, Basmati rice with saffron, brown basmati, or black beans 2. Dips & Spreads: tzatziki, crazy feta, hummus, harissa, red pepper hummus, eggplant & red pepper dip 3. Protein: chicken, lamb, beef meatballs, spicy lamb meatballs, veggies, etc 4. Numerous "fixins" options 5. Numerous sauces Let me say that I'm a huge fan of this movement to redefine "fast food" into far more healthy and hearty options. Cava is filling a void in the Mediterranean bowl market and, if day 1 or 2 is to be the standard then they've got a loyal customer here because everything was spot on. Food, service, pave, variety; everything. It was well worth standing in a line in the rain (under an umbrella) for ~30 minutes to try this place. I had a mix of the Splendid & Super salads, white Saffron basmati rice, half stewed lamb and half spicy lamb meatball, crazy feta, tzatziki, a bunch of the delicious add-ins, and tried the green harissa and spicy lime tahini dressings. Everything was super fresh. I hope they maintain the high bar here but they have set it high. I'd highly recommend Cava for delicious fast-casual food dining. We had a nice, casual lunch here yesterday. It's an order-at-the-counter assembly-line restaurant, so you choose a bowl or wrap, spreads, toppings, protein, etc. We each chose a wrap, and the pita was fresh and warm. My friend rarely finds something he thinks is spicy enough, but he may have found it here--he loved the spicy lamb meatballs with the harissa spread. It's hard to explain, but there was some confusion about the size of the pita and the price I should pay. Also, I was given a cup for water, but when I pressed the water button on the soda machine, I got soda water! No one told me that the water was on a separate, unmarked tap until I asked. Although the place was only half full, it was pretty loud. On the plus side, we really liked that they had stainless silverware and washable plates, instead of disposable ones--they're much more environmentally friendly. read more

Cava is the definition of an establishment going downhill compared to how they were when they were first introduced to Raleigh. The staff is not friendly, portion sizes have consistently gotten smaller, and food quality isn't always the same. I do love this restaurant but I do hope that they start caring more and employ staff who want to be there... or could it be the they aren't happy with the company which causes the downward turn? I love Cava and have never had an issue but this location clearly does not pay attention to online orders. I ordered a grains and salad bowl with dressing on the side and avocado for delivery on their website. There was no silverware, no dressing, and no avocado (which cost extra). Went back after 2 years and nothing has improved. Food is still eh and pricey. This time, though, the staff was outwardly hostile. The young woman taking the orders was so rude. When I stepped up to order she just blankly looked at me. I waited long enough for her to say "What do you want?" She complained about her co workers getting in her way. Was obviously annoyed with literally every customer. The bad service went way beyond that but for brevity: I was so embarrassed that I dragged my friends there for lunch. There did seem to be a manager trying to manage things but I'd recommend they back up and emphasize courtesy (or at least not outward hostility). read more

Amazing. I would come here every day if I lived closer. My friend got the spicy lamb pita and I got the Greek chicken pita. She loved hers and mine was delicious. I got it without hummus-I think the tzatziki and the Greek dressing set it off nicely. Added cucumber for more crunch. This is a great lunch spot if you're looking for a fast and healthy option. The food was pretty good - nothing to die for but good. It's obviously not fresh seeing as I found plastic in my food. It's like a chipotle or subway set up where you can add whatever you want to your meal. I spoke with 3 staff members during my time and two of the 3 were extremely friendly. What more could you ask for? This place is excellent. Situated in the old Noodles & Company in Cameron Village, CAVA serves tasty Mediterranean fare in a Chipotle-esque format. There are lots of options to choose from (I recommend getting the "greens and grains" wherein leafy greens are mixed in with your choice of rice, and adding veggies or falafel), but all are reasonably priced and healthy. The setup inside is great and there is ample seating. Even though the shop stays busy, there always seems to be a place to sit (at least pre-COVID, haven't been back since) and the line moves very quickly.
