I haven't had Cava in quite a while so I decided to stop in to grab a bowl! As I was walking in, I noticed a sign outside the building that stated that the sweet potatoes were back so I was very excited to add them to my bowl because I love their sweet potatoes! Since it was around dinner time, there was a line but it moved pretty fast. By the time I got to the front, they were out of their Super Greens so I kindly requested for the Greens and they went to the back to refill it. My "go-to" order are the Super Greens with a small scoop of the Basmati Rice. I like the Roasted Eggplant, Crazy Feta and the Harissa dips. I order two scoops of Chicken and the Sweet Potatoes (when available) with Corn, Cucumbers, Tomatoes and an abundance of Feta crumbled on top. I then top it with the Garlic, Harrisa and Shkug sauce with extra sauce on the side. I absolutely love it! It's the perfect combination of flavors. I ordered a drink as well and I feel like the prices definitely increased because my order was almost $29, which I thought was pretty pricey. CAVA is that boss babe girly pop you want to like but she just feels subdued, doesn't like you really, but still delivers some freshness. We ordered various bowls, some with lamb and some with falafel and the pita (which is the best part) so flavorful crunchy and pillowy bite all at once. This location doesn't do you any favors in terms of portions. I've been to CAVA in a pinch in NYC or traveling when I just want something healthy and not too overfried. Here the quality was fresh, customer service swift and delightful, and very organized. The lemonades and drinks were all new and refreshing. The portions though were evident on skimping. My bowl was not full enough for what we pay for. Perhaps it's shrinkflation living in these times or just this location, but I'm used to a towering bowl where a worker has to wrestle the lid down like a bear fight. As common is this quandry with Chipotle too. Some locations give you thin bowls and others heap it on. The food and smoked eggplant was tasty, the greens clean and crisp, all the sauces tasted delicious. The bowl was a bit shallow, that's all I'm saying. When went in I was greeted well. The color scheme with the decorations look very nice. I like the spacious environment and all the seating. Everything was clean. The food is on a line and they make your pretty quickly. I love to get the lamb with the rice and my favorite scoop is the eggplant only. I like the food here but don't like to get the dressing on my bowl because some of them are bitter. I usually skip that, but besides the fact that I don't like the dressing I do like the restaurant. Very disappointed because my last few experiences with this store is the quality of the food, as well as the portion sizes are diminished. I will have to try another store to see if it's just this location or all of them, but we used to get a full bowl when you ordered a bowl in Chesapeake. In fact, to put a top on it you had to smush the food down. Here's what we got from Lansdown last night. This is not the first time, but definitely the most obvious. Two separate bowls this time. Barely 1/2 full. Rice was dried out and chewy / crunchy, and you had to search for the chicken. Looks to me like management that's obsessed with portion control to the detriment of the customer experience. Additionally, the transparent rip off the delivery fees being moved up into the cost of the food is shady AF. The cost to deliver the order is fixed regardless of the size of the order (Within reason of course. 1 bowl, or 4 bowls, same level of effort to deliver.) Now, the more you order, the more you pay for delivery. They try to hide it in the cost of the food,so the delivery fee appears to be consistent with the other food delivery services. We popped in here for a quick dinner before my youngest's game and quick it wasn't, but good nonetheless. Our visit was right around the 5:15 pm mark on a Sunday evening and it looked like they had a wave of people come through prior to our visit. as a lot of their items seemed to be pretty empty and most of the chicken has been depleted. There seemed to be only 3 people working, but another rush came in after us and 2 more staff members came out to help. One of the guys went to the back to make more chicken. It seemed pretty busy after that. - Noms - My husband ordered the chicken pita with no pickles and I ordered the build-your-own bowl option. My husband seemed to like his pita, but he thought that they "drowned it in sauce" and that can be quite unpleasant in a handheld sandwich, also one that they did not wrap very well. I love build-your-own bowls, as it allows me to try everything they have to offer. I got a base of basmati rice, arugula, half roasted veg and falafel. They let me throw in whatever crumbs of the chicken they had left in the container and I added eggplant, red pepper hummus, roasted corn, pickled onions, persian cucumber, broccoli and topped it off with garlic sauce. I wish they had given a piece of pita or something to round out the meal. It was quite a large bowl with generous portions. I ended up eating only half and had the other half the next day. We also got the pineapple apple mint drink which I thought was refreshing and so was their lemonade! This was my second experience at a Cava location, and both times, it just seemed like they were really busy and ran out of stuff. After I ordered, I sat down to eat my bowl and my husband only got his pita once I was pretty much done. I hope they find a better groove. A day after visiting the Cava in Town Center, we decided to sample the Landstown location. This time I sampled the Balsamic Date Chicken bowl which was a curated dish with that wonderful sweet and spicy chicken, eggplant dip, red pepper hummus, corn, brown rice, spinach and a wonderful date vinaigrette dressing. My wife's Greek salad was fresh and delicious. We added shredded lamb to the salad and I have to say that it was the best marinated lamb I've ever had, period. Comparing this location with the Town Center location, I found the staff at Town a bit more helpful and enthusiastic and the portions were a bit more generous. But the staff Landstown was patient , the vibe was more relaxed and I noticed that the food counter was cleaner. I would be happy to dine in either location! The food is delicious ,fresh and healthy. I had the yellow rice with spinach, corn, pickled onions, feta, hummus, tomatoes and cucumbers, pita chips, meatballs and more... It was good!! I tried the tahini sauce for this first time and it was a game changer.. Delicious... I recommend trying the different sauces because they can really change the taste of your bowl. The pita chips are a must have. They are seasoned with something yummy and taste good with the crazy feta dip... The bowls are filling. I usually have leftovers. CAVA has become one of my most favorite restaurants. The quality and taste has been across the board good, at each location I visit. I love that they change the flavors of their drinks. I tried the blueberry lavender which was very special. On my way out I had the pineapple mint and that one was just delicious. It goes so well with the harissa bowl because you need a refreshing drink to go with the spice in that bowl. I'm sure it would go well with the other bowls too, but that one is mine. :D I've tried the pita wrap as well and love it too. In fact, I get the kids meal pita when I'm not super starving and it's the perfect amount of food for a light lunch. Clean establishment, nice people, delicious food - 5 stars! Do yourself and avoid this CAVA at all costs. I've been to both the Chesapeake and Town Center location and have never experienced the attitude I just received. Every question or request was met with a look like the employee wanted to jump over the counter..Worldstar edition. I came in here with my significant other to order dinner and I thought it was just me at first but no, the person who took care of us had a nasty a** attitude. In fact, all of the employees here seemed to have some sourpuss attitude here. I thought the chicken I got in my order seemed like bits and pieces but after reading others reviews about how servings are slim, now it all makes sense. A simple question..."Do you have pita?" (mind you the app said this location didn't at the time) was met with attitude as if I was bothering the employee. I had to make sure to ask what time they closed because if we walked in 5 minutes before closing, the attitude would be understood. I've been there before..customers who were showing up last minute was a pet peeve. Needless to say, we showed up at 8, and they close at 10. I do not intend on coming back to this location. We came for their soft opening and everything was very well organized so I was impressed once we walked in. The people that greeted you upon walking in were very friendly. When we got to the front there was sooo much to choose from. Different greens and grains, selection of proteins from chicken, beef and lamb, lots dips, veggies and a good variety of dressing too. I got the mixed greens and added arugula topped with tzatziki, crazy feta and roasted eggplant. Lots of veggies from tomatoes, cucumber, pickled onions, corn etc. I also added some dressing on the side. It was our first time trying cava so I asked for multiple dressings - garlic, lemon tahini, skhug, and yogurt dill. My favorite of all those dressings was garlic and skhug. It was very good and both went well with what we ordered. The skhug was extremely good with the braised lamb and basmati rice. Our family loved cava!! I was surprised that both my kiddos loved it as welll. My daughter got a pita with chicken and she almost finished the whole thing. My son loved his salad and ate the entire bowl. CAVA is soooo good! I love their menu and fresh food. It's absolutely delicious. Fresh veggies and delicious moist chicken and lamb? I'm in. I thought the only one nearby was town center area so I was thrilled when I mapped it last week and found this one which is only 15 minutes from our home and right by Landstown Commons and Veteran's United. Located in a busy strip mall on the way to Fieldhouse so you can easily find parking and there are a bunch of other things nearby if you are trying to run errands and need a meal. They have various features menu selections that must change with the seasons bc the lemon chicken bowl I got said "Now back" and it is GOOOOD! Highly recommend. I love their tea selection which also rotates and features a bunch of different teas and juices with nutrition information clearly shown. Delicious! CAVA on Landstown Centre Way is my go to spot to stop and get something to eat. I know I will be in and out of there as quick as possible and have fresh food. I notice the employees being very nice and welcoming to first time costumers and enjoy being in that kind of environment. This place is a great stop if you are at a sport event around the area as they have healthy options to keep your body replenished! First time that I've experienced sub par service at any Cava. From the other Va Beach location to Cava restaurants in Northern Va. My family and I walked in at 8:50pm on a Friday evening and there was hardly any food. In fact, the employee said - oh, we are trying to close. Then I asked for confirmation and clarification of closing time and he said 10pm. The portion of chicken that I paid for was minuscule and Insulting. One team member was eating the leftover pita chips when the customer behind us was asking for some, they said well that's all we got left. I guess the team of employees were too pressed for time to make another order of pita chips. Is it customary to start putting the condiments away one hour before closing and letting customers know that's all we got one hour before closing? If the whole menu isn't available while the store is open, why keep the store open? This is the first time we've experienced this type of service. I work next doors at Teriyaki Madness and tend to do pick up orders, so I can pick them up after my shift. I ordered a grain and green bowl with lamb meatballs, and considering the price, the serving was pretty tiny. My least favorite cava location in Hampton Roads. The staff isn't necessarily rude, Just ready to get you out. My biggest problem is that they're always out of ingredients and it's been multiple times my online order was wrong. Today it was pita crisps and pickled onions. Full disclosure- I ordered this on the app so I don't know if they just forgot to put the onions in or if they were actually out, either way I was so disappointed when I get home and my bowl didn't have any. Also, the bowl was drowning in garlic dressing. It overpowered every other fresh flavor in the bowl. I thought it was supposed to be a light drizzle. Might be a better experience ordering in person but I'm so disappointed by my online order, and it isn't the first time. Won't be returning to this location again read more
