There was a covered portion, but we stayed in the sun to stay warm in the cool spring air. The server sat us immediately and brought us complimentary fresh chips and salsa. We were starving, so we gobbled them up while flipping through the extensive menu. The servers brought us extra chips and salsa while we waited for our food and drinks. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and two steak tacos off the à la carte lunch menu (until 3pm daily). There was a $0.99 upcharge each for grilled vs shredded chicken and carne asada vs ground beef, and it was totally worth it. My daughter ordered two grilled chicken quesadillas as well. And our friends ordered beef nachos and a fajita platter. All of it was delicious, with large portions. I had a couple of house margaritas, which were tasty and a steal at just $5.50 each. My only complaints were that the queso dip was rather small and not worth the $5, and (like most places) they charge way too much for a soda ($3.25). The service was excellent. Our server Juan was friendly and very attentive, and several others checked in on us throughout our meal to ensure we were taken care. I'll definitely be back the next time I visit Cave City, Hidden River Cave, or Kentucky Down Under.

Our server was friendly and attentive, keeping our drinks refilled and checking on us at the perfect times. Everything we ordered was delicious -- the chips and salsa were fresh and addictive, the enchiladas had just the right amount of spice and cheese, and the fajitas were sizzling hot with perfectly seasoned meat and veggies. The margaritas were strong and flavorful too. Overall, the food quality and portions were excellent, and we left feeling very satisfied. My only tiny complaint is that I wish there was a bit more guacamole with our order -- it was so good that we could have easily eaten double the amount! Definitely recommend El Mazatlan if you're in the Cave City area. We'll be back soon!

Probably some of the best Mexican food we've had north and east of El PasoTX and Costa Mesa CA! Start off with margaritas. I went for the top shelf and my wife for their regular. Must say the top shelf margarita had some terrific flavors! We also ordered the chunky guacamole to go with the chips and salsa. The chunky guacamole is the way to go! For our main courses, my wife decided on the Los Yolanda's (really chicken enchiladas) while I decided on their Carnitas platter. Our dishes came out surprisingly fast and were truly delicious! We were talked into an order of fried ice cream for dessert, again happy that we did as it was very yummy! An unexpected treat of complementary tequila shots and celebration of Cinco de Mayo was also truly appreciated. We did like the decor having a nice flare. We were so happy that many of the wait staff stopped by our table to ensure all was good. If we visit again, I'm sure we'll stop by! Keep up the great work!

I looked at the menu and said this was a no-brainer to try. Unfortunately, my first attempt was on a Monday and they were closed. Why is Monday a popular day for restaurants to close? Anyway, I made it on a Friday for lunch. There were so many tacos I wanted to try! The best deal is the combo which has 2 tacos, a side, and a drink for $11.50. I asked the waitress if I could have salsa as my side and after checking with the manager, it was a yes! Because I really didn't want to pay $3.50 for salsa and it wasn't never ending! But the salsa was homemade and terrific. I really don't understand how places get away with charging salsa and chips when you find them for free. Anyway, I went with the Carolina and since I was in Kentucky, I had to go with the Commonwealth. These were among the best tacos I've ever had! The Carolina comes with pork, slaw, and BBQ sauce. The Commonwealth had more moving parts with fried chicken in a brown sugar/bourbon glaze, pico de gallo, fried poblano peppers, and ancho aioli. I considered giving this review a 5 based on the tacos alone but I couldn't do it. The unrefillable salsa was one problem. But the bigger problem was finding the second most unsweet sweet tea in Bowling Green after my fiasco at Smokey Bones. This is strike two Bowling Green! I asked my waitress if they had sweeter tea and she said she could give me sugar. Stop letting these Yankees make sweet tea, Bowling Green! They don't know how! I will be back for more tacos but I'm bringing my own damn sweet tea.
