I needed some gunsmithing service for the case extractor lever on my pistol. I found Cave Creek Guns online and decided to drop in to see if I could get some help. I only brought the upper slide that had the problem extractor lever. George examined it and took the slide into the back workshop. 2 minutes later, he brought it back to me and the extractor lever was back to functional! Spring restored to working condition on the lever. I'm very happy with the friendly and quick service received at this shop. A very clean and organized gun shop on Cave Creek Rd. Just south of the 101. Cause of issue: using custom ammunition purchased at a gun show. Some of the rounds were likely over-powdered, a few of the cartridges had the rims blow out from the cases, the over-pressure likely crushed the extractor lever spring in the slide. beware of purchasing plastic bags of custom ammunition that are priced inexpensively at gun shows, no factory quality control on the loads. I located this shop originally because they were the closest to my house with affordable FFL transfer fees. Upon having my first gun shipped there I spent some time looking at their selection of used firearms which were priced right and they had a few Glock models that I've wanted to acquire one day. The thing or things that caught my eye the most was the BTE built guns. I believe it's the acronym for battle tested equipment but someone can correct me if need be. George was the individual that helped me out, extremely knowledgeable in all things guns but nice enough to break things down so the average Joe can understand. These guys have consistently gone above and beyond every time I visit. I brought my AR in after having some issues and they took the time to explain what was going on and why. To my surprise, they took my rifle to the back and did some repair work while I browsed the store, explaining everything being done as they did it. Once I got my rifle back I was told there would be no charge! They just wanted me to be happy with my gun, a gun I didn't purchase there. That, to me, is the epitome of excellent customer service. Found this place a while back when my old go-to gun store closed. Needed a muzzle brake changed to allow me to use my suppressor on a new gun. When I brought it in they were friendly, knowledgeable, and got it done for a minimal cost. Since then these guys have really grown on me. I have filled up my safe, bought a new one, and am currently working on filling that one too. They have a great selection of guns, new and used, and can make or get anything you could ever need. I'm not sure how people are giving this shop a rating in 2018, but the shop no longer exists. Their store is now a non-gun related business and the website is gone. It's now a re-direct web site for another company. The rumor is he re-opened his shop under a different name at a different location in Phoenix. *Edit: The new shop appears to be called Cave Creek Guns and is near Cave Creek and Union Hills. I don't know if the old owner owns the new shop or not and I have not been to the new shop. read more

Tremendous Service! I was looking to just have a gas block removed from an AR-15. George said he would be happy to do it and the cost was minimal. He suggested that if I had all of the other parts he could install the new gas block and the new hand rail. He did it all for a great price and had it done later that same day! These guys are awesome! I took a couple pistols in with misfeed issues and they quickly identified some machining flaws on the ramps. They corrected the flaws and now I have no more feed problems. Better still, because I've run several thousand rounds through each of them, they fully inspected the guns to assure no other issues were evident. I have purchased a few rifles from these guys and the knowledge they have is unbelievable. I've also used them to have a gun shipped to me. They were very helpful and walked me through the whole process. I don't know everything there is to know about firearms and they didn't make me feel uncomfortable about it like many other shops do.
