This was not our first visit to this beautiful winery, probably our 3-4th, mostly sitting outside (even in mid October) There were 8 of us and we had Brooke as our server. She was lovely and attentive! We were greeted with a complimentary Riesling, and offered 4 more for our personal tastings. Straight up diamond in the rough. I typically judge a tastng room that's not at the winery locale. But this place has good wine and was the best flight experience we had in the area. They need to waive the tasting fees when you buy a bottle but great chardonnays and ice wine. Great history as well. And I'll stop judging. read more

It's a small quaint town with cute stores selling jam, wine, and homemade crafts. Our book guide recommended first time wine tasting explorers to stop by seasoned places like Cave Spring Cellars to get an idea of the wine making process, the tour, and the tasting. We must have been at the wrong area because the only place called Cave Spring Cellars in the small town of Jordan did not give our tours and all we did was a couple of wine tastings without the history and without the wine making background. Sadness. I tried the Riesling dessert wine, which was okay, and the Riesling ice wine was super sweet! I like sweets and I only had a tasting sip of the ice wine, but I could tell an entire glass would get me twitching from too much sugar. They have a great selection of wine for purchase and I do sort of regret not buying the $60 ice wine, though I did find a less sweeter ice wine at another location. read more

Cave Spring Cellar has a tasting room as part of the quaint main street in Jordan. The tasting is $1 per tasting, though they waved this for us as we each bought a bottle. I'm not sure if this is the norm. We had read that it was a free tasting so I wanted to correct this. The space is fairly large and they had other wine related items for sale as well. I liked the Dolomite Riesling, which makes sense as it is their specialty, and was reasonably priced. read more

Well executed wines that are quite reasonably priced. Known for their Riesling it was an outstanding example, in the cab Franc estate bottle was a top-notch version. Both bottles for 45 bucks. Can't beat that with a big stick read more

Blink and you'll miss the Village of Jordan. Most people drive by on their way to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Buffalo. Sadly, these people miss out on a lot of good eats and experiences. Jordan is the personification of quaint. It's beautiful and charming and prides itself on quality over quantity. First up on a mini-series of reviews is Cave Springs Cellars. This small but mighty winery consistently churns out really good wines. Staff are friendly and helpful. The tasting bar mixes up winery exclusives with wines available at the LCBO. I'm quite fond of their wine flights. There was enough variation yet it remained cohesive. You know what else wasn't bad? The price. They're certainly cheaper than the wineries at NOTL and not as busy. I enjoy coming to Cave Springs Cellars. Consistently wonderful, warm staff and great wine. One star off for not having a place to sit after having too much wine. read more

Stopped in Cave Spring this past weekend as they produce one of my favourite Rieslings! We arrived about an hour before close and the staff were happy to help us. I tried a few reds they made but decided to stick with the white wines we knew. We stocked up with the Rieslings and a dessert wine, prices were way below what they charge at the LCBO! We were in a bit of a rush or we would have walked around the Jordan village area. There are really cute little shops beside the winery. This place would be great to visit again when the weather is a bit warmer! read more

My GPS had a difficult time finding this small winery..... Nevertheless, I had a FABULOUS time at Cave springs. The owner of Cave springs gave us a very nice tour of Cave springs. We saw several different plots of land to which Tom pointed out the different grapes and their purpose. I was impressed with just how many different grapes they had & Tom's explanations. During the wine tastings, they really gave us the full spread! My all time favorite is the Riesling Brut-- available Canada-side ONLY...... Distinctive wines with individual tastes: vegetal, sweet, bit of bubbly-like, bold, spicy, fruity, Reds & whites. They have a very nice icewine: not too sweet! LOVE!! I liked the wine barrel decor. After the tasting, I highly recommend the food (next door- Inn at the Twenty). The area surrounding their retail store has some quaint shops to check out. ;) I'll upload photos when I can find my cable.... read more

Tasting room was in the middle of the small town, there were many small shops around. It was bit out of my expectation cause I was expecting nice vineyard and tasting room. Tasting room itself was spacey, reminded me some other nice liquor store, staffs were very friendly. They offered pizza and wine pairing for 20 valley wine passport weekend. I liked Riesling but wasn't my favorite. read more

I have been buying Cave Springs wines for years, and I keep coming back because they make some lovely wines at pretty reasonable prices. They make one of my favourite Rieslings - the Dolomite - which year after year provides excellent value and wonderful expression of the terroir. Their CSV Riesling is decidedly more structured, though more expensive. And their sparkling wines are the real deal. The tasting room is nice and spacious, there's plenty of parking close by, and even a restaurant next door to enjoy some quality food, so this is a really good destination on your Niagara wine tour. read more

We discovered this winery last weekend. It's a lovely place - located on Maine street in Jordan, very beautiful. We had a tour around the cellar and we loved it! The stuff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the vine is good. My favorite was oaked chardonnay. There is a restaurant, but we didn't have a chance to try their food this time. There is a very beautiful hotel and spa across the street - Inn on the Twenty, that belongs to the same company. We saw the banquet room upstairs - the view is gorgeous, all wall is a big window, overlooking ravine. Will come back next time. read more

Very cute shoppe in Jordan Village. Stopped in for a tasting and got a free Dolomite Tasting with our visa infinite card which was pretty cool. The staff was all amazing and friendly. They were all very nice to our one year old who wants to walk everywhere! Wine was all good and well priced. Worth a stop if you are in the area. Friendly staff and always wanted to come visit them. Back around 2006-2012, cave spring Riesling was my favorite white. They are still good but my taste had change and I also also greatly widened my experience. The staff was super welcoming and the space was clean and modern. Best of all, it is located in Jordan Main Street, which is just charming little block of shops. There is a really nice restaurant patio across the street. It is just a cool place to spend a couple hours. read more

Part of Inn on the Twenty, AMAZING, Dolomite is the way to go, it's a unique additive to the soil in the area and it make its presence known through having much better flavored wines than you can even imagine, Check this place out as quickly as possible, don't wait.
