Family came here for lunch and we ordered a few pizzas and some burgers. The burgers were good but avoid the pizzas. The Margarita pizza had way too much salted sprinkled on top of the pizza and blatant store sauce with now flavour. I tried the more adventurous Swarma pizza and it didn't work for me - Zatar spice with chickpeas, yogurt and cheese- avoid. We also did some wine tasting here and liked the Chardonnay but everything else was too dry. Nice ambiance and friendly staff but would not come back. read more

First off, I should declare that I am a fan of the Twenty Valley wineries and shops. Love this area of Ontario. Hubby and I often go solo or with friends to enjoy and check out new dining or wineries. Honsberger has become a fave for us. Their patio is wonderful and a good size. They have a quite large fully covered area to the side of the main building, plus then another patio area with tables that have umbrellas. Their pizza is excellent and done in an outdoor pizza oven. They do have other items (mains, salads, appetizers), that are prepared in their main kitchen. One thing we have noticed is that things are taking a bit longer in the Covid world. This is we assume due to precautions taken with cleaning etc. So -- do be patient and just enjoy. We find that they always have some interesting cocktails with their wine as a basis, and some are available in pitcher size as well as by the glass! Reservations for the patio are available via the TouchBistroDine app. You won't find them on OpenTable. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Parking is available at the back and on the side. You do need to have face masks until you get to your table. read more

The pizza and beer for this place is amazing! Not to mention the wine. It is a bit of a drive from Etobicoke but well worth the trip! You also need reservations. Honsberger estate is probably one of Niagara regions best kept wine and dine secrets, nestled in the beautiful and quaint Jordan Village. This restaurant is located in a historically redone barn and old farm house with the most gorgeous outdoor patio! Large trees, horses, lights, and often live music on the patio. (Fun fact: my mom is cousins with the original owner and she spent a lot of time on this property growing up) The menu is small but focused on local quality that shows in presentation and fantastic merriment of flavours. The have small drink menu but it encompasses every taste from beer and wine to some amazing cocktails. All the staff is friendly, accommodating, and quick. Tad pricey but worth it for the experience! It can get busy so definitely make a reservation online if you plan on going. We ordered: Edamame Appetizer: roasted and perfectly seasoned with oil, and hot pepper, really delicious and would definitely order again. Serves 3-4 as an app. $9 I think Special roasted quail: this was a special of the week and came with a purée, mushrooms, and sunchoke chips. It was kind of a small serving and was slightly dry but seasoned really well. Not a ton of food but $15 Special gnocchi: this gnocchi was awesome!! The sauce was so flavourful and bright, gnocchi with sweet potato, braised rabbit, and veg with an earthy creama on top. Nice serving size and great tastes, large amount of rabbit in it too! Slightly salty but it did not mask the excellent prep. $24 Green belt pizza: they are known for their stone fired pizzas so we had to get one! This one had garlic sauce, ricotta, shaved asparagus, prosciutto, and balsamic with arugula. SO TASTY!!! $23 Definitely recommend Honsberger estates because they offer an unparalleled experience as soon as you pull in to the last bite of food! read more

Came for lunch on a busy Friday, but we had reservations. The food was excellent. We shared a pizza and that was plenty of food for two people. We did not stay for the wine tasting. The sandwiches were huge and our dining partners truly enjoyed them. The property is gorgeous. Would be a lovely event venue. read more

Honsberger estate is a gem. Amongst all the big wineries in the Niagara region bringing in grapes from farmers all over the area in order to fulfill thousands of cases of wine for people all over the world - Honsberger stands as just a microscopic piece of that pie. This winery, while quaint and small - presents itself in such an authentic way, that you can't help but fall in love with it's wine, food, and people. The owners are very involved in their daily operations and I was so happy to meet them both when they decided to personally reopen their tasting bar for my Fiance and I as we came just after closing time. I must say we really enjoyed all their wines - Particularly the rose, which is complex and quite full bodied yet easy to drink. Their wines are made with the grapes they grow on their property, which means they have a very limited release every year. The owners talked really fondly of their property, their wine making process and how their wine maker tries to make their wines a bit different and unique (they shared that their wine maker also works for a handful of other Niagara wineries - but it sounded like they allow her to have more of an experimental and free range when creating the Honsberger wines). We went just before our reservation at Pearl Morisette (which I was told used to be honsberger property, until they sold it to PM). The owners are absolutely the sweetest people who talk to you like family and have such a truly warm personality to both of them (they're a married couple). I hope to be back in the spring to sip on more wines and to try some of their delish looking pizza. You must visit if you're in the area! Won't disappoint! read more

One of the smaller boutique wineries in this area. I saw many reviews related with venues, and they do have a beautiful wedding venue. I'm sure so many people talk about their beautiful wedding venue but I wanna write something about their wines. It is small family run boutique winery. They don't make a lot of wine and make only few kinds of dry wine. Cab franc, Cab franc reserve, Cab franc rose, Dry riesling.. Thats all they make and offer. My favorites are cab franc reserve as well as regular cab franc and rose. If you are in love with red wine, try this place. You will thank me. Generally its hard to find good red wines in this region, most wineries are bringing out sweeter side of wine which is riesling and ice wines. Surprisingly this wine region is pretty good with cab franc and Pinot noir too. I tried many places with red and this place has such a beautiful cab franc. Aromatic, structured and smooth. They make their cab franc rose with champagne pressed method, its more aromatic compare with regular rose. I'm afraid a lot of people will go and buy up their small stock but I have to share what I found. Don't forget to greet Vino, winery dog. When you go to visit wineries in this area and if you are big red wine lover, put this place on your list. You will enjoy a beautiful estate, great wine and people. read more

This place is gorgeous! We went too late for a wine tour but got to experience the restaurant. The wine was great and I loved the venue, food and music however the service could have been better. Our waitress was great except for one point when we asked to move from the bar to a table and she definitely sassed us. I feel like the winery deserves a four but I will say that if you don't spend a ton of money there is a possibility you will be treated negatively, but I'm hoping it is just our waitress. read more

We booked dinner here for after a friend's bachelorette day in Niagara. She got married and moved to Germany, so we wanted it all to be really special. I emailed and called in advance to try to book something extra special but never received a reply, so I booked online using their website. We had such a perfect day and we showed up for dinner with our friend in her "bride" sash. We were greeted in the parking lot very quickly and told the restaurant was closed for a private event. I showed the reservation confirmation and was told they didn't use that platform anymore. I used their website! We were told to go elsewhere on a perfect Friday evening in June with no reservation. They took my number down and I was told someone would call me about this. No one ever called, so I emailed them a couple of weeks later just reminding them of what a sad experience it was. They finally emailed back offering us a free flight of wine. When I mentioned we couldn't return until the end of summer, I received no email back since. The venue looks lovely and maybe if you're booking a wedding, they are attentive. Otherwise, they are not. I do not recommend them for a night out and I've shared this with many, many friends heading Niagara way this summer. read more

This winery has only been in operation since July, 2014. They have .... 1. a beautiful setting with a nice outdoor bar/patio area that serves pizza. 2. Dogs that will greet you (Vino is cute, but stand-of fish at times), yet not quite up to the star power of Brix at Sue Ann Staff. 3. Nice wines. They have a rosé and a Riesling that are good for a relatively new winery. I did not enjoy their red, but reds can be finicky in this area. 4. Great service. The young lady who waited on us was friendly and excited to tell about the wines and the winery. read more

Am I missing something? Finally visited Honsberger after a few false starts where we thought they were open, but weren't. I was absolutely SHOCKED at the prices. Y'all, they have a $27 panzanella salad. That's right, $27. The pizzas were also very pricy and super disappointing. (A note to all pizza makers out there: you can't put raw tomatoes, jarred roasted red peppers and dozens of sliced black olives on a single pizza. It'll turn into a sloppy mess) So yeah, glad we went, because now we know not to visit again! Side note: service was lovely, patio dining furniture was bad. read more

This is is a wonderful setting to sit on the patio with friends. The Honsburger was delicious and the cab franc was yummy. What ruined this first visit for me was our waitress. The service was not as good as it could have. The food could have been if it had not waited for quite a while to be brought. read more

Stopped here for lunch with a family member around 1pm on a Wednesday. Sat on the porch and ordered from their very limited menu. I ordered the charcuterie board which had pickles, olives, pickled egg, salami, pepperoni, hummus, crackers and 2 cheeses. I would have liked more meat on the board but it was satisfactory. They had two very friendly dogs (Australian Cattle dogs??) that loved playing fetch with a red ball. They were so affectionate but did not bark or bother me during the meal. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I feel like the mid-day menu/food isn't as vast or as tasty as the dinner menu. They do have a brick oven for pizzas but they were not available until dinner. Seems like a fun and inviting place to eat if you catch it when there is a full menu. What a beautiful estate. The estate has acres upon acres of peaches, plums, and a vineyard. An historic 1850's home with a ghost and in every room you experience a time in history. A beautiful barn and restaurant. Really, this place is something special. Owner Rob and his wife are such amazing hosts. We are visitors of Niagara Falls from the southern US. We decided to venture away from the touristy town by the falls and we are so glad we did! We didn't really read much about it before we pulled up, so we were a little surprised to find it down a narrow driveway on a sweet farm. The grounds, used for weddings and events, were so beautifully maintained. There is an outdoor brick pizza oven. Unfortunately, the night we went it was the beginning of the season and it was cold and wet, so we couldn't eat outside, but they'd pulled the tables into the "barn" which was nice and rustic with the fireplace lit. The service was great and the menu options were perfect. Though all of the food was wonderful, our favorite was the freshly baked pizza! We would love to go back someday, but since that's unlikely since we live so far away, at least we can recommended it to others searching for something authentic, organic, and delicious. read more

I'm quite unpleased as to how the one person responded to my wedding inquiry. She was quite rude in my opinion. I only asked one question and then asked about what packages they offer. Not only was there no "congratulations on your engagement", She rudely said they don't offer what I asked, and then said if you still want to know email me back. Instead of just sending packages with a "I'm sorry" response to the question, that's what i got. When I emailed back asking to see the price list regardless of how my question was answered, and never ever got a response. And still no response and it's been two weeks at this time of writing. We had our wedding here in August of this year and I can't say enough great things. The food was amazing (really special), the place is stunning, the service was great and personable, and our wedding was so beautiful. I do not have a single negative thing to say. Guests still tell me when they see me that our wedding was one of the best they've ever been to. They don't need a positive review, because they have zero trouble booking weddings (book WELL in advance if you want to be married here), but all the same, I felt the desire to share.
