I tried the flight tasting, it is decent $5 for 5. Must buy a bottle of alcohol to go into the cave. I definitely would recommend bringing your own food to this place because food selections is limited, so deduct a star. they sell pizza which is $18 for a small pizza, I got the pepperoni pizza. They also have cheese and sausage that is in the fridge. There is also bread that they made and biscuits. Up in cave have seats and tablets to sits.

Very disappointing for a group event planned. The flights of wine on their website are deceiving and not true to what is offered. There was no one to provide information about the flights of wine and instead a serve your self. The cave was a good experience but definitely recommend drinking ahead of time or brining your own because they weren't interested in up selling their products.

Another must stop in SE Missouri. About 15 minutes off the highway through really cool scenery, the winery has $5 tastings as well as the ability to purchase bottles to go. The coolest part is being able to walk down into an actual cave and drink your wine there. There is no fee to go there. Even if you aren't drinking (like us, we were driving) it's worth the stop. Very, very cool.

Cave with a small stream stream running through or a pavilion overlooking a lake to enjoy the wine & cheese we just bought is a nice way to spend the afternoon with loved ones. (Guests are allowed to bring their own food, but not alcohol- they only sell wine, cheese and crackers) This visit was with my mom and aunt on a Friday afternoon. We did not make friends with the dogs so they did not follow us this time. The walk down to the cave is short (tram only runs Saturday and Sunday). The walk back up the hill can be harder, but there are benches to stop and sit. We were the only ones in the cave and had the babbling brook as background to our conversations. This is just a relaxing way to enjoy a day. I have only heard of the weekends with musicians so I can not comment on that. The friendly lady at the winery even remembered us from the last visit and about my nieces. She also remembered that my mom liked the wine Traminette. Bring your own pic-nik basket and wet ones because there is no restroom down at the cave.

WOW! Perfect winery for our afternoon trip as it was our wedding anniversary and just wanted a laid back relaxing time. We did take a round about way of getting to the winery and loved every moment of this adventure! The young lady was perfect as we enjoyed the wine tasting and chose a chilled bottle of wine to take with us for our walk to the cave. It was a hot and humid day yet once you get to the cave ~ PERFECT! Shaded deck and cool breeze in the cave. They do have small snacks and biscotti (yes I bought some to take home!) that can be purchased as well yet you can also take a picnic to enjoy with your wine too! Thank you for a wonderful day- we will be back!!!! Well worth the trip!!!! Beautiful!

two bottles of wine and a glass of wine

Cute little winery and different being in a cave! It's a long steep walk from the bottom to the top (with the bathroom only being up top FYI) so if you or someone with you is disabled skip the cave at the bottom of the hill

This is really off the beaten path but really worth the drive! Where can you sit in a CAVE and drink wine?

So it's a nice little winery but we didn't stay too long. We drove over to see the cave. We got a $5 dollar tasting and the wine was decent. We didn't go down to the Cave because we decided against buying a bottle of wine which they prefer you do as cave admission. The grounds looked very nice. Definitely a winery we may visit again and spend the time to have a bottle of wine and see the cave.

My fiancé and I went here for the first time today and it was a great experience. The lady working in the main building was really personable and knowledgable about the area. We did a $5 wine tasting and then purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy do at the cave. You're allowed to purchase your wine and walk down to the cave where there's plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy hanging out. We stopped by here on our way out of town, but it looks like you could do a trolley to the local winery's. I would totally love to come back and experience a tour.

Such a beautiful winery. My best friend surprised me with a visit this week and we both loved it! Emily was working and she was absolutely amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable about the various wines. We will definitely be coming back!

We were doing the Missouri wine trail and this name definitely caught our eye. Our friends like sweet wines and we like dry wines and since you had to buy a bottle in order to go to the cave, we didn't see the cave. This was the only winery we visited that we didn't buy a bottle. We just weren't impressed with any of the options.

I'm going all out with 5 stars to the Cave Vineyards, this was my second stop on my wine tasting day, and it was my favorite. the main building really wasn't anything to write home about, and although the tasting was a nice experience, and the wine we chose and bought was delightful and full of flavor, the staff really wasn't anything too memorable and really didn't leave an impression. What was impressive about the vineyard was the actual cave on the property, you can enter the cave (with the purchase of a bottle of course) and enjoy a nice bottle of wine and a picnic lunch ( you can bring food with you) in a nice cool cave hidden in the woods. I will be returning to the cave for future visits and to get some more wine, and if your looking for a nice way to spend an afternoon, go to the Cave Vineyards and sit in the cave and you will find your answer...

The cool thing to do is bought a bottle of wine and drinking in the CAVE. By the way their Port is very nice, too. If you are NOT a wine drinker, no worries, there are many kinds of craft beers to choose.

Upon entering, you are given a magic bracelet that you can swipe on their "ipourit" wall. You just swipe and drink. It bills you based upon how much you pour. Aaron walked us through the process perfectly. Absolutely amazing. We then found a spot for our group outside around one of the firepits. It was the perfect day as far as weather is concerned. The sun was warm, but not too harsh. There was a feeling of freshness being out in the country. We had such a good time. OK food is on the way. Kendall did such a wonderful job with all of our orders and the food was phenomenal. This is probably the best food I've ever had at a winery. This is not a basic cheeseboard. This is coconut shrimp, fantastic pizza, & ahi tuna nachos.

Everything was beautiful, and we were very excited, but was taken back when the person to give us a tour arrived 20 minutes past our scheduled time, with a Scooter's Coffee in hand. The water given to us had two gnats in my fiancé's cup. When discussing prices, we were very disappointed when the website said $500 for a 4 hour rental, when in fact it was $5,200, which was very unclear and not stated on the website. Although the view is beautiful, the service is not ideal. I would not recommend this place.

We had our wedding here early May and despite some frustrations, we are happy we chose the venue…read more The property is absolutely stunning, and having an all inclusive location with lodging, food, alcohol, getting ready spaces, and beautiful grounds for photos made wedding planning much easier and more convenient for us and our wedding party. That being said, we experienced several communication and organization issues throughout the planning process and wedding weekend: Early on, our tasting was difficult to schedule, and once we arrived, the chef did not seem aware we were coming or prepared with the menu options we had already selected to taste. A few weeks before the wedding, we were also informed there were only two guest suites available despite originally being shown three during our tour. This caused one set of parents to scramble for last minute lodging arrangements and an additional last minute cost. When we arrived for the wedding weekend, Joe informed us the entire kitchen staff had quit about a month prior, and he was personally trying to manage both the winery operations, the wedding, and the kitchen. Unfortunately, this seemed to show throughout the weekend. The rehearsal dinner was honestly chaotic. Guests had pre selected entrees ahead of time, but the servers did not have the list and were running around trying to figure out who ordered what (now, I will add that some of the guests could not recall their choice and that added to the issue, but this would've been resolved by the servers calling their name). The food came out cold (our rehearsal did take longer than scheduled, so this may have been part of the issue), lacked flavor, and was nothing like the quality we had experienced during normal visits to the winery. It felt very obvious there was a breakdown in communication between management and staff. At the reception, several food items we had selected were substituted without our knowledge, and both entrees were missing components that had been discussed beforehand (selected green beans, got broccoli. Salmon missing sauce. Brisket missing aujus. Pesto pasta was 100% different than the one we loved at the tasting.). We also paid extra for a cheesecake toppings bar for dessert instead of cake, but instead were served what appeared to be pre made cheesecake bites with the only warning being immediately prior to it being brought out. This was especially frustrating because New York cheesecake is already a regular menu item at the winery, so there really did not seem to be a reason for the substitution. We struggled with feeling a bit "bait & switched" on some things. (I'll add here that Joe did make the absolute BEST breakfast burritos the morning of the wedding and I'm still thinking about them!!) One additional thing worth mentioning is that sound travels extremely easily between the guest suites on the main level. We could clearly hear conversation and noise from the neighboring suite, which was not ideal for the honeymoon suite experience. (Honeymoon suite directly next to suite used for Bride's parents...) Adding some soundproofing or reconsidering the placement of guest suite next to the honeymoon suite would make a huge difference for future couples. Overall, Joe was always kind and clearly working extremely hard, but it honestly seems like he has far too much on his plate trying to manage weddings, restaurant service, and winery operations all at once. The venue desperately needs more delegation and staffing support to avoid the communication breakdowns we experienced. That said, this venue is still very new to hosting weddings and only in its second season, so we did go into it expecting there might be some growing pains along the way. The venue itself truly is beautiful and has so much potential to provide an incredible wedding experience, and I do think with more time, staffing, and organization behind the scenes, it could easily grow into an even better venue than it already is. Thank you Joe & staff for what was overall a beautiful wedding!
