The new menu features so many amazing food options. The chicken tortilla soup is absolutely delicious! The staff and decor is wonderful!

We had a great 40th birthday party for our son. Kelly did a great job helping with the planning. Conner & Chelsea were amazing through the entire event. Everyone loved the food. Great venue for your next event.

I got the Delco cheesesteak. Once again I wish I took a picture of the menu. From memory, it had fried onions, green peppers, red peppers and habanero cheese. The roll, oh the roll. Very good roll I just wish it had sesame seeds on it. I saw a Liscio's roll box as I was leaving. The meat was very good and did not get lost in the peppers and habanero cheese. The meat seemed more ripped than chopped. The peppers and habanero cheese were everywhere and were great complementors and not dominators. This was a very well-made bar/restaurant cheesesteak. This is definitely a 1st date, impress the future in-laws and/or get out of the dog house cheesesteak.

I think the place has changed names . Honestly, not sure what it was but must be recent because I can't find a Yelp listing. I only gave this place 3 stars. Those that read my reviews know I try to give everyplace and everyone the benefit of the doubt. This is the best I could do. I'll explain. Ive road past this place a million times traveling between upper Darby and the Blue Route heading back to Delaware. Always wanted to try it and finally did . Sat outside and our server was very pleasant as she handed us the specials list while informing us that they were all out of everything on that list PLUS, a few regular menu items. She also apologized ahead of time for our service being slow, as she was double the work of 3 servers. Since we only had about 5 options (lol... I'm exaggerating of course), I decided to keep it simple and got the Delco Cheesesteak. It was very good (although for the pice, you'd think they would throw in some fries or at least chips). I ordered a basket of fries on the side and although a little on the cold side by the time they came, were the closest thing to Thrashers French Fries (if you don't know, you better find out) this side of Rehobeth Beach. So, the saving grace for this place was pleasant disposition of the server, and the fries. Look, we are in crazy times. I'm gonna give it a year and try again.

Delicious, cheesey Prime Rib Flatbread for $10.

For me, from 2 to 4 stars in 5 years is an impressive accomplishment for any restaurant and these folks have become force in the Havertown restaurant/bar scene. I'm delighted to have experienced their evolution. Irish family owned the ATMOSPHERE here is classic pub/saloon with lots of dark wood and two full bars. There are about a dozen taps at the bars. You wouldn't call this a craft beer place but there are certainly crafts available both tap and bottle. The bartenders are excellent and kudos to management as most have been around for several years. The FOOD here is classic American with a few Irish influenced dishes thrown in. The menu here is extensive and it would be difficult for most folks not to find something that interests them. Expect the portions to be large. You can add Blackened Chicken or Blackened Salmon to some of the salads and I would highly recommend that. A huge spinach salad with blackened chicken is about $13 and fantastic. A very good burger will set you back $8-10 depending on your choice of toppings. They are famous for their Baked Clams at about $11. They have recently updated their menu and I was the first to try the Prime Rib Flatbread with caramelized onions for $10. It was filling and delicious! SERVICE here won't be a problem. The owners spend a lot of time on site and the staff is well trained. In addition the kitchen staff knows how to get your food out pretty darn quick. If you're in the neighborhood and looking for an adult libation, you'd feel welcome here. If you are looking for a Classic American dinner/drinks without taking out a second mortgage they would also be a solid choice.

A Quaker owned retreat center outside of Philly …read more.. I came for a holistic nurses retreat for a four day session- also slept here for 3 nights. Our conference meeting center was at Brinton house - on one side of the campus. I also stayed overnight in Britton House as well . Some others stayed at Firbank on the other side of the campus near the main house Main house is where the meals are served There is a path that circles around the campus approximately a mile around that is nice to take . You can see key features like the Beech Tree, a tower, organic garden, wetlands etc Lots of lovely flowers , tree species and insects to see - like bees and butterflies. This place is great if you are into biology and studying trees etc . It's a nice retreat place . Quiet , peaceful and delicious organic food There are no TVs which is nice to detox . There is WiFi if you need to connect but I did a social media detox while I was there It is a scent free facility as well - no candles , perfumes , sprays etc Rooms or dorm style or you have a private room. Rooms are rustic and no frills but clean. They provide linens and towels . Pillows were very flat and bed can be at times uncomfortable. Yoga and stretching helped me . Although I liked my shared room with a private bathroom - the wood floor was noisy - made noise with every step. I saw others with carpet floor . But I liked the view from my room and the desk inside was nice. Meals were at set times Breakfast 730-830 Lunch 12-1pm Dinner 6-7pm They had chicken/poultry/ fish option as well As vegetarian and vegan and gluten free options Bug spray is needed for walks especially in summer - hot and humid days . They have an art room with small donations if you use the space There is a library but I didn't go They have an organic Garden and a small grass labyrinth I liked the wetland pond area near Brinton house - so pretty . The path is a wood chipped path for most of the path- some of it is gravel. And the path is slightly confusing in a few areas but you figure it out.it appears larger in the map than what it really is

Short version: it's like a contemplative year-round summer camp for grownups, only the food is…read morereally good. Insanely long version: Last month, after wrapping up a few very stressful months on a difficult job, I was at a sort of crossroads in my life. I was looking for somewhere to go where I could clear my head, relax, and spend a few days living simply and reflecting on what was really important to me. Some people might go camping at a time like this, but I don't have a tent or a sleeping bag, and it's cold out, and long periods of solitude don't really agree with me. Also I'm small and clumsy, and could not likely defend myself effectively against a bear. What to do? Somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered hearing about Pendle Hill. It's a Quaker retreat and study center, so I must have heard of it at some point while at my Quaker school. I looked at their website and decided to check it out for a couple of days-- not a huge investment at $75 a night. My two-night stay turned into a six-night stay, which turned into a decision to live at Pendle Hill for a ten-week term as a student. I am head-over-heels in love with this place. You might not have the time or the inclination to spend ten weeks there, but below is a list of reasons why you should come check it out for a day or two. (They also have all sorts of cool weekend workshops on topics related to mindfulness, social justice, racism, peace, etc., which would be an ideal way to become acquainted with Pendle Hill.) -The food. Maybe I shouldn't start with that, but this is Yelp, after all. And it's SO GOOD. There's an organic garden and a whole bunch of chickens on the grounds, and everything is as fresh as can be. They even make the bread from scratch. I was asked when I made my initial reservation whether I had any dietary restrictions, and when I arrived at dinner the chef introduced himself and showed me which items were dairy-, egg-, fish-, and wheat-free. -The people. The people and the food are linked closely in my mind, because mealtimes are a warm, communal affair. You serve yourself and then sit with others at one of a few little tables. Everyone there is incredibly nice to newcomers. I walked in to dinner with that anxious new-kid-in-the-school-cafeteria feeling, and walked out having made four or five cool new friends (ranging in age between about 25 and 75) who made me feel right at home. (I need a lot of human interaction to keep me happy, but it's just as easy to have a more solitary experience there if that's your thing.) -The art studio. It's so cool. It's open 24 hours a day, during some of which it is flooded with sunlight, and you can just go in and play! Or you can take one of their art classes. They've got all the tools and supplies you could imagine for drawing, painting, sketching, calligraphy, sewing, quilting, knitting, book-binding, pottery, and weaving, and I'm sure I've left out a bunch of things. There's also a wood shop that I hear is great, but my dust allergies kept me out of there. -The grounds. The campus is beautiful-- old stone buildings, a lovely path through the woods, the aforementioned organic garden, and all sorts of little quiet places to think-- wooden tucked away behind a stand of trees and the like. -The library and the bookstore (see my review of the latter). Tons of books, on Quakerism of course, but also on Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and other religions; nature and ecology; social justice and activism; history; psychology; and on and on but this review is already way too long. The library is a beautiful place to sit and read or write. -The values. I'm almost hesitant sometimes to use the word "values" because it has been so coopted by the religious right, but I won't cede it to them. Quakers believe in simplicity, peace, and tolerance, among other things. You will find Jews, Catholics, Muslims, and Buddhists there; people of all sexual orientations; people who speak all different languages. Writers, readers, artists, musicians, social workers, activists, students, and people trying to figure out who and what they are, rake leaves and scrub pots together to keep the community running. Upon rereading this, I realize I might have made it-- and me-- sound rather cultish. It's not, and I'm not; I'm just still really excited. Come visit for a weekend to write or read or think or walk or be, and see for yourself.

However, after the first encounter with their staff there, I was disappointed thereafter. For one thing, I left my initial meeting with the hope that I could bring in a caterer. However, after that point I was basically encouraged to choose their package instead, because of their rigid outside catering policy, which basically defeats the purpose of even having an outside caterer policy, in my opinion. I get it, you want my $6500. If it's your policy fine, but I was really uncomfortable with the vibes I got from the staff after they clearly realized they could not make the maximum money off of my wedding. Once it was known that I wouldn't be paying for their 'package,' attitudes changed. Their website says they can work with your budget, but I think not, as that was clearly conveyed to me. On top of that, my friend, who would have been our caterer, shared with me that she was very offended by the gruff tone of email from the staff. Ultimately, we chose not to go with this place.

We booked well in advanced and had a deposit down. A few weeks before our event we get a call saying we didn't put a deposit and that they are canceled our reservation because someone else wants to book it for that day. We had to fight back in order to keep our booking. Monday November 18 they call us to confirm food and timing for everything and I was told we can come at 11:30am to decorate the banquet hall. They had also said by the time we get there they will have all the tables out as well has we had to put our own table clothes on all the tables. We get there at 12:00pm and nothing was put out the place was disgustingly dirty. We had to move their stage on our own so we could start decorating we had to put out the table and chair on our own. And when we confronted them they said it our fault we came early and said we are in the wrong. When they are the ones who said we can come and they will have everything ready for us by 11:30 am. During our event they did not provide us a server to pick up dirty plates and said we have to charge separate when they originally said that will be included. As well they tried charging us extra for Indian tea when they said that will be included. As well they did not allow us to use those drives to store drinks and ice as they had said they can not provide ice for drink so we had to run out and buy ice from the grocery store. As you can see from my video that place is filthy. The management sucks there's no communication between the owners.
