I have been taking classes at CB Fit for about a week now. I have done both their climb x boot camp total body and their lagree total body classes. I have never done anything like these classes before and I have left every class so impressed (and with my ass kicked!). The studio is small but cute. The classes are upbeat and energetic and every instructor I've had has been amazing. They are very welcoming and I haven't felt judged once. The classes are TOUGH but that is what you go there for. They make a great use of the music and have amazing energy that pumps you up. The only downside is I wish they had an app to schedule classes! And I wish it was easier to book day before / same day classes- spaces in classes are very limited so you have to book plenty in advance. But I highly recommend this place! It doesn't look like you're doing much but all of a sudden your legs are shaking and you wake up the next day feeling like you got hit by a bus (in a good way). This is a great workout and a great studio! I've taken classes with a lot of the different instructors here and you can't go wrong! My favorite ones are Yoyo, Pamela, and Darren. The machine seems a little intimidating but if you're new your instructor will go over the layout with you. Classes are small so instructors are able to correct your form and make sure you're doing the moves properly. I recommend getting a machine in the front of the class if you're new so you can see what everyone else is doing, as the names of the moves take some getting used to. You don't have to have grippy socks but I like having them. They sell some in the studio or you can buy some from Amazon. Depending on the time you go the parking lot might be full and the spots are a little tight, but there's always street parking. read more

The climb class has made every other workout class I've done seem boring. The Power Towers can be intimidating at first but they are amazing and so fun! Truly a workout for any fitness level. Great for low impact exercise that gets your heart rate up there quickly. I have always gravitated toward high energy workouts, but the Lagree classes are a great option when I'm looking to change things up a bit. All the instructors are passionate, high energy, unique and extremely personable. Chelsea and Paul, the owners, make the studio feel like a community and care about each member. I have brought nearly all of my friends & my mom, to a class when they come to visit. Tried a couple of classes with my Classpass membership. What interested me in trying CB Fit was the fact that I really like Pilates reformer classes so I was interested in how the Lagree method differed besides being a bigger (and more intimidating) apparatus. Personally, I think it's Pilates reformer but with a ton more strength. You'll definitely feel each and every workout. I first did the fundamentals class. Fundamentals doesn't mean easy. In fact, I struggled to keep up with others in the class. But I finished and I'm proud of me. I definitely felt sore in my abs cause you're constantly engaging your core. I next tried Mega arms and abs. Wowsa, that is hard and I had to stop frequently cause my body just couldn't keep up. I was sore for days, but I like being sore...feels like I accomplished something. Plenty of parking on the street or in their back parking lot. read more

After several months of hearing about this class from my roommate, I finally accompanied her to a lagree class. I was hooked from the start. I had done pilates in college and loved what it did for my core but my other gym didn't have any classes offered besides spin, yoga, and kickboxing. This is an amazing addition to my workout routine. My favorite part is that it never really gets easier as you go. Every week I learn new moves and it gets better as I figure out how to isolate muscle groups. I used to be a very fit, motivated person but I lost it for a year and this has really provided me with the motivation to get back into it for the following reasons: 1.) Amazing instructors and a sense of community. I knew I was completely hooked after I had been laid off from my job the same morning and the after class meditation really hit home. Ever since then, Yoyo has asked how I'm doing and I really appreciate the personalized support. 2.) The small class sizes allow instructors to give individual attention so you learn to master the moves. 3.) I also injured my foot and was afraid I wouldn't be able to attend. However, all instructors had alternative moves immediately ready and it was the only exercise I could do for about 2 weeks. 4.) The total body is great but for a more focused workout on certain body parts, arm/booty & abs classes are offered. 5.) CB climb classes have recently begun so now I can also get my cardio fix here! I've been finding a way to get back to my fitness routine. I went through a thyroid-related weight gain then rapid weight loss from back to back bronchitis and a terrible flu. Anyway, I lost the weight but I had no muscle tone whatsoever. Going back to my normal gym routine proved to be difficult and unmotivating and I was constantly making excuses not to go. (Uh-oh left my earphones at home. I'll have to skip the gym today). So I searched for other gyms and forms of workout I can try and found Lagree. What attracted me was that it is a whole body workout in less than an hour and will kick my butt and is low impact. My first time was insane. I was dripping in sweat and was secretly cursing the instructor under my breath.I was in pain the next few days but was yearning for the next one. Long story short, I signed up for a full month and is loving every session. Instead of dreading working out, I am actually looking forward to it!The facility is nice and clean and the instructors are nice, cheery and helpful. My new found obsession. . . Is Lagree Fitness in Walnut Creek. It's a love, hate relationship. Pilates may not be high-intensity or lifting heavy dumbbells, however, Lagree Fitness is pretty intense. The core-focused, slow intense movements will make your abs burn, challenging your muscles in new ways or working muscle groups that don't usually get much attention. CB Fit has helped me in strengthening and toning with a focus on core and for increasing my flexibility, posture, and enhanced mental awareness. I've been going to CB Fit through Class Pass. It's just right down the street from my house too, so it's pretty convenient. All of the instructors I've had have been great. They correct your form as needed and after a few classes you get more comfortable with moving around the reformer and remembering the exercise by just hearing the names. These classes will really tone you up! I've specifically been looking for something to target my core, and you use your core the entire time, esp. to stabilize yourself as you're doing the exercises. The hardest part too is doing the moves as slow as possible. Going slow is SO hard sometimes. In the beginning, your body just wants to rush through it so it doesn't hurt as bad, but the key to building strength is slowly going through it no matter how painful, and then you get stronger :) read more

I love love love this studio! I work in the neighborhood and like to mix up my workouts. Coming to CB fit as a novice, I can say for certainty that Lagree is extremely effective and challenging! As is typical for a guy, I am used to quick twitch, high intensity, or resistance training exercises. The classes taught at CB fit give me a different kind of workout that I could not accomplish on my own. I have noticed positive changes in my core strength and lower body since working out at CB fit. The instructor's are on point and make the class challenging and fun. I would be open to taking anyone's class, but have only taken Chelsea and Yolanda's class so far. I look forward to meeting the rest of the instructors in future visits. I would recommend CB fit to anyone who wants to have a positive impact on their fitness. Lagree? What? I found CB Fit from a SoulCycle friend, HI Jeni, and have been hooked every since! I tried out their complimentary class with Veronica and was sore for a few days. But you know, like that good - I know I am going to have a great peach emoji- sore. The class is about 45 minutes, and on a megaformer - basically a machine that moves back and forth on your strength and body weight. We did many exercises (toning) that targeted the full body, abs, arms, legs, butts (LOL), etc. Since I was a beginner and doubt my balance they had great ways to modify workouts as well as support poles for lunges. The instructors are amazing - again, they'll show you ways to modify and feel comfortable. Many of the workouts consist of ab work outs - crunches, planks, pikes, legs (bungee kicks, donkey kicks), arms (bicep curls), back, and more. Overall, I am glad I found this place and took advantage of the free class as well as the unlimited monthly pass. Fitty Tip: If you take this class on an empty stomach, you'll most likely get hungry because some of the moves are named after foods. I love this studio! I've been coming here for a little over a month after I learned I had bursitis in my knees, I stopped doing Crossfit and took a 9-month hiatus from working out. But landed here because it's on my way to work and walking distances from my house. I was a little freaked out with the machine at first and my first class I had no idea what the names of the exercises mean, so I kept looking around. But the instructors were EXTREMELY helpful and welcoming. Of course, I have my favorite instructors, but all the staff is very friendly and helpful. The studio is clean and the machines are new so they all work great. This type of workout arrangement reminds me of Crossfit as in, there are only a certain amount of spots available (it never feels crowded), you have an Instructor that tells you what to do (I like not having to figure out what workout I'm doing, I make enough choices on my own during the day as it is), you workout your entire body, it's easy on my joints and I can see my progress after 30 days. Results are a for sure given if you do this workout and don't give up. I'm hooked! read more

Let it burn! I get a great work out every time I come. I like that the classes are short (45 minutes) and intense. The machines here are new to me but I was able to catch on in the fundamental class. I am still pretty new (4 classes in) and the different instructors are all good at adjusting and showing you the moves without making you feel bad. Yes, the work out is awesome, but I want to highlight the customer service. Chelsea is one of the owners there and she made my friends and me feel welcomed there. It was a great workout, we both sweat a lot! And the teacher was very high energy but not annoying, and played good music. So happy to have a local Lagree pilates (think traditional reformer pilates, only faster and instead of isolating one muscle at a time, you work a whole group at once) studio here in Walnut Creek! If you've ever been to a Lagree style class before (Core Society, Core40) you'll know the setup and megaformers are the same from studio to studio, the real difference is how the instructor paces the class. One nice thing is the reformers all line up in a single line facing the mirrors so you can check alignment, some studios stagger machines or don't have mirrors for every machine. Laura was an amazing instructor for Foundation (an intro, NOT easy), the class sequence made sense and moved at a quick but manageable pace, she was really good at prepping for the next move while still pacing the current move. I would have liked maybe 1-2 more arm moves and maybe a few suggestions for a good couple stretches afterwards. I know everyone wants core strength and dat booty but my arms always feel like the weak link in my planks, so i'm always up for more arm work. She offered modifications seamlessly with her instructions so you can make choices for yourself based on how comfortable you are with certain positions. (I did advanced for some, regular and also "easier") You want to feel the work, so knowing which modifications to do helps make sure you are hitting that sweet spot for each muscle group. Foundation will be great for anyone, seriously! The machine takes 1-2 classes get fully familiar with but after that you won't be intimidated by the thing. Lagree gives you a lot of bang for your buck as well, your muscles get a great fatigue, but you still get that lengthened feeling of traditional pilates. I have another class scheduled for tomorrow morning, can't wait! Seriously, you'll feel so good about yourself, go go go! The instructors are so great, they connect with you and make the workouts bearable because it really is an intense workout but they help as needed. This is an ass kicking type of workout! My friends and I went once as new members and they have a deal on their website for $10 for your first class! The instructor was really sweet and she was super accommodating in explaining how to use the machine and helping us with the different postures as it was our first time! The class definitely kicks your butt. I was sore the entire week and I didn't even know I had certain muscles in my body. Stretch really well after ur first class because the next day you will feel like you got hit by a bus (no joke)! I love Lisa's class so much from when she was teaching in Emeryville that I just had to stalk her to CB fit! Just to give everyone some insight on her classes... it's super tough but you feel great at the end of class, her transitions to the next move is super smooth (Very important to me in Lagree), upbeat music and the most challenging class yet feeling sore in a good way for the next couple days. I find her to be one of the best instructors out there and I've been to my fair amount of different studios with the megaformers machine and took at least over 20 different instructors classes to know the difference.
