Went to CB2 on my way to another store. (see above review ^) I've been there before over a year ago, but for some reason, I really did not have many expectations and almost skipped going there. I am glad I went in! I was pleasantly surprised with the store!! The merchandise was current, stylish, and on trend. I found there was a wide selection of current decor trends. The store was merchandised very well and overall, the store had great flow. Each little display area contained coordinated merchandise and told it's own story. Also, since the last time I went into the store, I really feel the brand as a whole is stepping up their merch. quality-wise! The staff was friendly and helpful. At least 4 people greeted me and asked me if I need assistance. (contrast that to my West Elm experience!) I used my $150 gift card on cool accessories at the store and will order bigger items I saw online. read more

It's very frustrating to walk into a store where you love everything, but can only afford the cute pencils. Though I did turn out buying a wall sconce here, the prices are steep. Unnecessarily so. I know that this s*** isn't made by a toiling artisan in some warehouse loft. The original idea of modern was that it would be simple, cheaply made, and available to the masses. Stores like CB2 turn that idea on its head. I just don't believe that things that look good should be expensive. The other customers were so...."LA", it kinda made me uncomfortable. still love the general look and feel of their stuff, nice contemporary pieces with edge and nice style. prices still in my mind a touch high but my experience has been their quality is good and the pieces seem to last so... ultimately, it's worth it. my friend for example, has a couch from here. and then he bought a second cheaper couch from like ashley furniture in burbank. they were both in his living room, and the ashley couch was almost embarrassing next to the cb2 one -- sloppy pillows, didn't hold shape nearly as nicely, ashley couch looked schlumpy and not tightly made, durable, precise! so again.. you get what you pay for. i think the stuff here is good, grown-up stuff. have been back here many times recently. the salespeople continue to be very bubbly and friendly, very nice and pleasant to work with. recently got some pieces with tyler who's ultra vivacious and sweet. one of the managers (i don't know how many there are) could smile a bit more, each time i've been there he's seemed amazingly grumpy has never smiled or said hello nada nothing even tho he had to key in a transaction and i said hi to him and was generally pleasant. i mean i didn't you know belch or fart or do something or anything to be offensive! but this has actually happened a few times where i've seen him and he looks so over it. or me! i dunno maybe he doesn't like me. but how i ponder... how is that possible?! [ ;-) ] anyway i do like lots of the stuff here and it's a reliable place to come look for some modern good stuff. When ordering things like dining room table chairs they keep pushing the delivery date to now 3 months!!! We purchased the chairs in the beginning of june and they keep pushing the delivery date which is now at the END of September!! Sucks! Almost don't want the chairs anymore :/ always seems to take awhile for this store to ship on time or in a decent time frame. read more

After my negative review, somebody at C&B posted a response, and asked me to contact them. No way to do that, that I could find. So my update. The product finally arrived. Delivery, which they told me would be by their in house person, was by a very nice contractor. When he opened one of the three items, it had been destroyed in transit. Not damaged; destroyed. Back it went. I lucked out, and when I phoned I got a real C&B employee, who told me all others I had spoken to were contractors. As were all, he was patient, cordial and only able to tell me my order may be completed in February. 11 months after started, 7 months after promise. Out of maybe 6 contacts by phone, he was the only one who seemed to have real, accurate information. The people are nice. Their job is extremely tough. Their system, at least for this kind of product, is broken. If time is of no concern at all, CB2 product is as described. If you actually have a need for product, it does not work right now. I admire all the employees for hanging in there. They do not deserve my low rating. The company deserves a lower one. That sounds harsh. I suppose manufacturing and transit should prioritize medicine, computer chips, and toilet paper, all of which we would suffer without. I can accept that outcome. For furniture, if you can't pick it up from existing inventory, don't be shocked if you share my experience. read more

The delivery service is just not right for the price they charge. I am experiencing the delay in my delivery because CB2 system did not remember my delivery day I scheduled when I was placing an order (I clearly remember specifying that intersection closest to my building). I accidentally saw this email much later in a day saying to schedule my delivery (again) that I simply could not notice at all because I was sure everything was arranged already, and never end up getting my order on time. The representative in the chat could not schedule the delivery for me on my desired (and picked) day and I needed to schedule a new delivery day that is way more inconvenient for me. CB2 - Affordable, modern housewares and furniture. Word!!! Very cool stuff. Any place selling (brilliant) Marimekko printed textiles, is worth a visit for me. There's a definite emphasis on modern, and I think the store it a great, funky alternative, to West Elm or C&B. read more

I came by to ask for a refund on an item that blatantly didn't wear well. It was purchased as a gift for me and I did not have a receipt (obviously). They wouldn't even consider it. They don't stand behind their products, which are clearly not well made. 3:30 the night before my delivery day, I receive notice that my window of delivery begins at 8:15am. When calling to tell them I can't make that window of time because I have to take my kids to school, I was put on hold for 40 minutes and then told they can't change my window because their warehouse closes at 3:30 and they need to charge me a rescheduling fee. You better really love their crap, because the customer service when trying to get this stuff to your house is akin to dealing with kindergartners. I am not exaggerating here, they have no idea what they are doing. The following is what took place AFTER we bought and paid for the Movie Sofa, or Movie Couch, or whatever the f this pretentious catalog company calls a simple dark couch. We pick up five days after we made the purchase... Me: "So we haven't received the swatch for the Movie Sofa that you said you would send." CB2 dipsh1t: "Well, like we, like don't, like always, like have, to like send, a swatch." Me: "Well, we didn't ask for one, you said you were sending one before the couch comes on Friday." CB2 dipsh1t: "Well, like I think there was like a computer problem." Me: "A computer problem now, or then? It doesn't matter, that is fine, really. It is being delivered on Friday, correct? Do you know what time?" CB2 dipsh1t: "Well, they will call you and tell you what time." Me: "Who, the delivery driver? When I gave CB2 my credit card number you told me this Friday as the delivery day. Is that still the case?" CB2 dipsh1t: "Yes...Friday." The next day, there is an envelope in the mail with a swatch in it. No note, just a small piece of fabric. The lamp we ordered comes the same day via FedEx. Aside from some minor blemishes in the shade, it is fine. I can't even remember how much it cost. Am I really going to make a stink over an $80 lamp? No, that's not me. Friday comes. I took the day off so that I could be here to receive the Movie Sofa. We get a call from CB2 in the morning: Me: "Hello." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "Yes, Mr...O....O...O... This is Ang__ from CB2." Me: "What can I do for you? Do we have a delivery time? I am here!" CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "I need to confirm that your doorway will accommodate a delivery that is 28 inches deep and 88 inches long." Me: "Yes, no problem, it is a large door, there is nothing in the way, it won't be a problem." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "Well, your couch isn't going to be delivered today." Me: "Why not? I did take the day off so I could be here for it." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "blah, blah, blah, blah blah, blah, blah..." Sorry, I can't remember what she said. It was this rambling incoherent mess about a new sales associate, then it was the computer system, then it was the size issue, then it was something else about Neptune not being in line with Uranus. When people are so dumb that they can't even string together a half-way decent lie, I literally cannot understand... Just say the order never went through, it was a mix-up, and here is a 10% discount for your hassle. Me: "So when is it going to be delivered?" CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "Next Tuesday?" Me: "Sorry, that isn't going to work. We are leaving town on Sunday and won't be back until after the Thanksgiving holiday...we actually told your sales associate that we needed it here today because we are entertaining..." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "Well, I can try to have it delivered tomorrow, but it won't be with our WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY, but an outside courier." Me: "OK, what time will it be delivered tomorrow?" CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "I just need to confirm that the couch will fit." Me: "Yes, it will fit. That is the first thing you asked me when you called just now, and I said it would fit, no problem." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "So you want the sofa delivered tomorrow?" Me: "If that is the best you can do, I guess...I find it a little hard to believe that you absolutely can't deliver it today since it is just a sofa, on a truck, coming to our house...but if tomorrow is the best you can do, then I will rearrange my schedule." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "So you want to proceed then?" Me: "What seems to be the problem here? I said yes, please schedule it for tomorrow. What time will it be here?" CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "Well, it is an outside courier service, so there won't be a WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY..." Me: "I just said that was fine. Why are you asking again? What does that even mean? NO, it is not a problem that it is not a WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY. Just send the couch." CB2 Director of Dipsh1ts: "Sir, it means that they will not take the shrink-wrap with them. Do you have a place to dispose of the shrink wrap?" Now at this point, you are getting as bored reading this as I am writing it. So I will just sum up the experience. It is still Friday, there is still no delivery time for tomorrow. I have very little faith that it will be delivered tomorrow. Or Tuesday. All I know is that this is not rocket science- I know a thing or two about order fulfillment. The problem with CB2 seems to be that they put a lot of time and money into good photography on their website, with snappy, hip copy. However, when it comes down to actually selling the furniture, it is a bit like going Walmart. read more

Not only that, but their staff (specifically Nasrin & Angel) are extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. I placed an order online and had part of the order shipped to me and the other part picked up in store. I've been waiting for the items to be shipped for a week now and still not shipped. I talked to customer service online and they said they were being shipped as we spoke, but one day later still not shipped. As for the other items to be picked up in store, at first they called me saying some were backed ordered. And then I got an email saying they were all ready for pick up. I called the store right before I went there to confirm the availability and they said every was there. When I arrived at the store, they told me still only some of the items were ready, and the others were back-ordered, which wasn't what they told me on the phone. The manager Michelle O said I could cancel those items if I want but there was nothing they could do about it. I said that was not acceptable and insisted her checking again and showed her the email, and she asked warehouse reluctantly to check inventory again. 10 minutes they found my "missing" items. Anyway, most inefficient supply chain, disappointing customer service, and unhelpful and indifferent staff I saw among chain furniture brands. read more

I had some issues with furniture I purchased due to misinformation by the sales staff (twice!) and then it came chipped and misassembled to top it off. I left a review on their website for the product - a $299 nightstand that came misassembled and Target has better quality. They "moderated" my comment on their website even though my review was very polite. The sales staff is always pleasant but the quality is slipping. Plus, you can't trust a business that moderates comments so nothing negative gets posted on their site. read more

Fun place to look through. Good for some knick knacks, perhaps a small desk or rug. I'm surprised anyone would actually consider furnishing there living room here because the quality is no better than Ikea and the prices are higher. I ordered a standing infinity mirror and purchased a nice dining room table. Spencer was nice and attentive. Staff at pick up zone were very helpful (as well) with loading my dining room table. Nick called me within a few days to notify me that mirror has been received. Nick kindly refunded me my shipping charges because it was best for me to pick up mirror in store than wait for delivery! Fragile! Again, staff at pick up zone were helpful. I will definitely continue to shop @ cb2 not only for their amazing range of home decor, but for their kind and helpful staff. read more

After a year long search for the perfect sideboard console, I found 'the one' at Cb2. From the friendly service at the showroom to the in-house delivery, everything is 5-stars! I selected the delivery date, and was texted 2 days in advance of the delivery to notify me of the time window. They actually showed up 15 minutes early! Thank you to Julio Sosa & Pedro Torres, who had to maneuver up some stairs & a tight turn, but they handled it like pros and placed it perfectly in my home. read more

I passed the store front walking in a high-end shopping district in a very upscale Urban setting. We are redesigning our kitchen and enjoying picking out unique items. The store was attractive enough on-site to warrant and exploration. We entered, heading towards some very attractive displays, when we were assaulted by the piped-in music. I could not even talk to my shopping companion to ask whether she thought this would fit in an hour kitchen area. The noise was so loud, and so upbeat, that it was a great distraction from my shopping experience. Although the wait staff was extremely helpful, and approachable, I said I'm leaving my wallet in my purse. I cannot concentrate with that sort of Music blaring all around me as I walk into each area from the store. I'm afraid CB2 has lost my business because of this element in the environment. My companion feels the exact same way. When we are shopping and exploring environments and looking for Aesthetic Solutions, we do not appreciate being bombarded from music selected by corporate trying to give us a sense of "event." read more

The furniture is nice but the service and deliver process are awful. I ordered a new dining table for thanksgiving. I called to check on delivery and they apologized and said it would not make it ( this after sending two email updates saying it would be delivered the second week in November. The wait time to speak to customer service to cancel the order is so long that I still have not gotten through. I would recommend Room & Board or Crate and Barrel over CB2. read more

I love the catalogue but (this) store is okay. I don't know what it is, but I don't feel comfortable in there. I can't explain it. I use to only shop from them when they didn't have a Brick 'n Mortar, so I was excited for the convenience. I have purchased a few things (so I do recommend them) which includes their: Engine Red Bar Stools, Bubble White Office Chair, Oliver Stemware, Orange Business Card Holders + other things I'm forgetting...
